Nik Bonitto has some unfinished business, he said. The Oklahoma outside linebacker will return for another season in Norman, announcing his decision Monday morning. Bonitto, a second-team Associated Press All-America selection, could have declared for the 2021 NFL Draft. It would be hard to blame him after recording career single-season bests this past season with 11 tackles for loss and 8.2 sacks. - Norman Transcript

  01/02/21 - Kennedy BrooksrSr/2022, Oklahoma, 5-11, 209 (DS#12 RB) + More +

Running back Kennedy Brooks and defensive lineman Jalen Redmond figured to be big pieces for the Sooners this season before each decided to opt out. Sooners coach Lincoln Riley, who declined to discuss players who had opted out during the season, said Friday that both would return for 2021. Brooks didn't rejoin the team at any point but Riley said he came to the facility several times during the season. Brooks' return would be a big boost for the running game, which could take a significant hit if Rhamondre Stevenson, especially after his 186-yard rushing performance in the Cotton Bowl, decides to make the jump to the NFL. Brooks had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons the two previous years, averaging 7.5 yards per carry with 18 touchdowns. - Daily Oklahoman
