11/29/25 - QB Devin Farrell, rSr/2027, Rhode Island + More +

Devin Farrell threw for 365 yards, including two first quarter touchdowns, and Rhode Island defeated Central Connecticut 27-19 on Saturday in a first-round game of the FCS playoffs. Ninth-seeded Rhode Island will play No. 8 UC Davis in the second round. The Aggies had a first-round bye. Farrell threw a touchdown pass on each of Rhode Island's first two possessions and his 54-yard connection with Omari Walker set up the Rams' third score on the way to a 24-7 halftime lead. The game tightened up in the fourth quarter. The Blue Devils' Brady Olson threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Damani Williams to make it 24-13. The PAT was blocked by Dontay Bishop of Rhode Island and the missing point played a key role in strategy as the game wore on.

Farrell threw an interception near midfield on the Rams' next possession and Dekavis Preston returned it 59 yards to the 7-yard line. On fourth down from the 1, the Blue Devils chose to kick a field goal that made the score 24-16. Rhode Island (11-2) then drove inside the 10-yard line and Garth White booted a 26-yard field goal that made it a two-score game (27-16) with 5 minutes remaining. It was Rhode Island's only points of the second half. The Blue Devils (8-5) reached the 11-yard line on the next possession but facing fourth-and-10, they again chose the field goal, making the score 27-19 with two minutes remaining. Central Connecticut got the ball back with about 90 seconds remaining but ran out of time after reaching the URI 40-yard line. Olson attempted 62 passes, completing 35 for 311 yards with the two touchdowns. Rhode Island defeated Central Connecticut 21-17 in the first round of the playoffs last year. - AP College Football

11/29/25 - RB Josh Pitsenberger, Sr/2026, Yale + More +

Josh Pitsenberger broke loose for a late 56-yard touchdown, his third of the game, to complete Yale's stunning 43-42 comeback over Youngstown State in the Bulldogs' FCS playoff debut on Saturday Yale (9-2) trailed 35-7 at halftime before scoring 36 second-half points, including 21 in the fourth quarter, taking the lead when Pitsenberger sprinted for the go-ahead score with three minutes remaining. The 15th-seeded Penguins (8-5) turned it over on downs on their next possession and the Bulldogs reached the YSU 1-yard line with 1:16 left when Pitsenberger eschewed a touchdown and intentionally went down. Kneel-downs took care of the rest. Next up for Yale will be a trip to second-seeded Montana State next Saturday. Yale and the Ivy League were participating in the FCS playoffs for the first time and the Bulldogs were matched up against a program making its 16th appearance. It looked like Yale would be making an early exit after three first-half turnovers led to Youngstown State touchdowns and it had been outgained 358-132 in total offense.

The teams exchanged touchdowns to start the second half before the Bulldogs scored a late third-quarter touchdown on a 1-yard Pitsenberger run then added Dante Reno's 11-yard TD pass to Lucius Anderson to start the fourth. Reno's 4-yard pass to Graham Smith with five minutes left got Yale within one score. After the Penguins turned the ball over on downs, Pitsenberger scored on the next play. Pitsenberger, the Ivy's offensive player of the year, rushed for 209 yards on 32 carries. Reno was 21-of-28 for 260 yards with three TDs and two interceptions. Anderson made eight catches for 138 yards. Jaxton Santiago had 104 yards on nine catches before a fourth-quarter injury. Beau Brungard threw for three touchdowns - all to Max Tomczak - and ran for three more for the Penguins. He was 23-of-35 passing for 317 yards and rushed for 90 more on 17 carries. Quarterback Tommy Rittenhouse caught and ran for touchdowns as Illinois State took down Southeastern Louisiana 21-3 in an FCS first-round playoff game on Saturday. The unseeded Redbirds (9-4) advance to the second round of the playoffs for the second straight season with the win, and will travel to face reigning FCS champion and No. 1 seed North Dakota State on Dec. 6.

Rittenhouse's 6-yard rush on a QB keeper put Illinois State up early in the first quarter. He added a 1-yard reception from wide receiver Daniel Sobkowicz in the third to extend the lead. It was his fourth career receiving score. Seth Glatz added a 1-yard rush late in the fourth to put the game on ice and send the Redbirds to the second round. Illinois State's defense was dominant, grabbing four interceptions on the day. Mason Kaplan had two picks, and Tye Niekamp led with 13 total tackles, one sack, and one interception. Guillermo Garcia Rodriguez hit a 40-yard field goal for 16th-seeded Southeastern Louisiana's only scoring. The Lions conclude their season at 9-4. - AP College Football

11/29/25 - QB Julian Sayin, rSo/2029, Ohio State + More +

Julian Sayin threw three touchdown passes, including a 35-yarder to Jeremiah Smith on a fourth down in the second quarter, and No. 1 Ohio State beat No. 15 Michigan 27-9 in a dominant performance on Saturday. The defending national champion Buckeyes (12-0, 9-0 Big Ten, No. 1 CFP) likely earned a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff. They can keep their top seed with a win against No. 2 Indiana (12-0, 9-0, No. 2 CFP) in the conference championship game Saturday night in Indianapolis. Ryan Day should sleep well, a year after losing The Game when his team was favored by about three touchdowns. The upset extended his losing streak in the series to four games and sparked speculation he might also lose his job.

The Wolverines (9-3, 7-2) started strong with two field goals and an interception on the first three possessions of the game, but couldn't generate pressure when Ohio State wanted to pass. Just Sayin. After throwing an interception on his second snap, the redshirt freshman took advantage of the time and space he had to throw. Sayin was 6 of 6 for 68 yards with two touchdowns on third and fourth down in the first half, including a 4-yard throw to Brandon Inniss with 16 seconds left that made it 17-9 at the break. He finished 19 of 26 for 233 yards and threw for at least three touchdowns for the sixth time this season. - Ohio State/AP College Football

11/29/25 - QB Carson Beck, rSr/2026, Miami + More +

Carson Beck passed for 267 yards with three touchdowns and an interception as No. 13 Miami beat No. 24 Pittsburgh 38-7 on Saturday to keep its slim hopes for a spot in the ACC title game alive, at least for a few hours. The Hurricanes (10-2, 6-2 ACC) need several other outcomes across the league to go their way later Saturday to earn a spot in the conference championship next week in Charlotte. The more long-range - and far more pressing - matter for Miami is whether it has done enough to earn one of the at-large berths in the College Football Playoff. The Hurricanes ripped off four straight wins by an average of 27.5 points to close the regular season. Miami's resume also includes a victory over No. 6 Notre Dame in the season opener. A lot has happened over the last three months, though the Hurricanes hope their play down the stretch puts them back in the position they thought they'd be to start the season: in the mix to play for a national title.

Beck connected on 23 of 29 passes to finish the regular season with a 74.7% completion percentage, tops in the FBS and a new program record. The Georgia transfer added an exclamation point at the end, a 33-yard heave to CJ Daniels in the final minute with victory well in hand in hopes of adding some style points against a team ranked No. 22 in this week's CFP rankings. Malachi Toney caught 13 passes for 126 yards and added a 9-yard lob to Elija Lofton for a score in the second quarter that gave the Hurricanes a lead they never came close to squandering. Pitt (8-4, 6-2) came in with its own hopes of reaching the ACC championship. They evaporated in the late November chill as Miami hounded Panthers freshman quarterback Mason Heintschel and wore Pitt's defense down in the second half. Heintschel, whose promotion to starter in early October coincided with the start of Pitt's six-game ACC winning streak, was sacked on the game's first play, and the Hurricanes never really let up. He shook off a leg injury late in the first half to return for the second but completed just 22 of 32 for 199 yards with a touchdown and an interception. - Miami/AP College Football

11/29/25 - QB Cade Klubnik, Sr/2026, Clemson + More +

Cade Klubnik threw for 268 yards and ran for a touchdown, cornerback Ricardo Jones had two interceptions including one for a score, and Clemson closed a disappointing season with its fourth straight win, 28-14 over rival South Carolina on Saturday. The Tigers (7-5) also got a touchdown run from Adam Randall, two field goals from Nolan Hauser and their defense held strong as the Gamecocks (4-8) tried to rally. Jones led the way for a defense that had come under fire during Clemson's 3-5 start. He ended one drive with a pick in the end zone after South Carolina drove to the Tigers 23. He ended the game when LaNorris Sellers' pass bounced off receiver Nyck Harbor. Jones took it in for the clinching, 12-yard TD. It was a satisfying finish to a disappointing regular season. Clemson, the defending Atlantic Coast Conference champs picked to repeat, lost four of its first five home games to fall from all title races. But like in 2023 when Clemson started 4-4 and won its last five, the team bounced back down the stretch with wins over Florida State, at nationally ranked Louisville and Furman before beating the Gamecocks for the second time in three seasons.

South Carolina quarterback Sellers, regarded as a high-round NFL draft pick, finished with a season-high 381 yards and two touchdowns. But his two interceptions cost his team when it mattered most. After a scoreless first quarter in which the teams traded punts and each had a turnover, things got going in the second period. The Tigers had TD drives of 78 and 85 yards while the Gamecocks responded with two long scoring passes from Sellers. Randall broke around the right side for a 10-yard run to start the scoring before Sellers answered back with a 53-yard strike to an open Harbor to tie things. Klubnik fumbled on the next drive, but quickly picked the ball up and sprinted for a 3-yard score to re-take the lead. Sellers, though, needed only one play to find Vendrevius Jacobs for a 74-yard touchdown. Clemson's next drive stalled inside the South Carolina 20 and Nolan Hauser hit a 32-yard field goal for a 17-14 lead at the break. Randall ran for 102 yards on 24 carries and T.J. Freshmen Braxton Jennings and Shaun Boykins Jr., both ran for more than 100 yards, helping Louisville overcome significant injuries and still rout Kentucky 41-0 on Saturday. Miller Moss threw for 182 yards and accounted for four touchdowns, three of which were in the air, as the Cardinals (8-4) snapped a three-game losing streak. Despite not having their top three running backs nor their top wide receiver, all of whom were out with injuries, Louisville racked up 440 yards on the Wildcats (5-7), while limiting their guests to 147, a season-low for the Cardinals defense.

Jennings, a true freshman walk-on, ran 20 times for 113 yards. Shaun Boykins Jr., a redshirt freshman who started the season as a wide receiver, added 101 yards and a touchdown on 22 rushes. The two Kentucky natives led a ground attack that gained 258 yards, Louisville's second-best total this season. Cutter Boley completed just 14 of his 27 passes for 107 yards and two interceptions as Kentucky ended its season with two straight losses. Saturday's win was the largest for Louisville in the annual series, which was resumed in 1994. It's also the Cardinals' first shutout of the Wildcats in 21 years. - Louisville/AP College Football

Katin Houser accounted for four touchdowns in East Carolina's 42-3 win over Florida Atlantic on Saturday afternoon, in a season finale for both teams. The Pirates (8-4, 6-2 American) scored 42 points in the first half, starting with a 1-yard rush by Marlon Gunn Jr. Houser threw for the next two touchdowns, one on a 27-yard pass to Dessirio Riles and a 22-yard completion to Brock Spalding. Houser rushed for a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter, and defensive lineman Rion Roseborough punched in a score in from a yard out on his first career rush.

Houser finished the day 20 for 29 with 258 passing yards and 67 rushing yards. Gunn Jr. had 130 rushing yards on 14 attempts, and Riles led all receivers with 87 yards. Caden Veltkamp completed 19 passes for 183 yards and threw two interceptions, setting the single-season program record for total offense for the Owls (4-7, 3-4). He entered the day second in FBS football with 3,465 passing yards. Zach Gibson relieved Veltkamp late in the third quarter. He completed 12 of 20 passes for 116 yards with an interception. Garrison Smith's 33-yard field goal in the first quarter was the lone score for the Owls. East Carolina's defense recorded four sacks and two fumble recoveries. Kalieb Osborne threw a late third-quarter touchdown and Chip Trayanum scored twice in the second half as Toledo pulled away for a 21-3 win over Central Michigan on Saturday. The Rockets will play in the MAC championship game on Dec. 6 against the winner of a tiebreaker scenario between Toledo, Miami (OH) or Ohio. Toledo (8-4, 6-2 MAC) trailed 3-0 at halftime after Cade Graham hit a 28-yard field goal with 38 seconds left in the second quarter.

The Rockets finally broke through with 10 seconds left in the third when Osborne hit Trayanum on a 57-yard strike to cap a five-play, 69-yard drive. Kenji Christian pushed the lead to 14-3 on a 9-yard run with 8:41 left and, after a defensive stop, Trayanum sealed it with a 42-yard burst with 1:49 remaining. Trayanum ran for 94 yards on 16 carries and caught three passes for 65 yards. Osborne and Tucker Gleason combined to throw for 206 yards with no turnovers. Toledo's defense held CMU to 81 yards rushing and picked off Joe Labas once while recording four sacks. Rocco Becht passed for a touchdown, Abu Sama ran for a score and Iowa State defeated Oklahoma State 20-13 on Saturday in the final regular-season game for both teams. Kyle Konrardy kicked field goals of 45 and 34 yards for Iowa State (8-4 overall, 5-4 Big 12), which rushed for 231 yards. The Cyclones' defense limited Oklahoma State's offense to 219 yards and forced two turnovers. Zane Flores threw a touchdown pass and Logan Ward kicked two field goals for Oklahoma State (1-11, 0-9), which has lost 18 of 19 games and 19 straight against conference opponents. Becht threw a 16-yard scoring pass to Chase Sowell following a fumble recovery to give the Cyclones a 10-0 lead.

After punting three times and losing a fumble on their first four possessions, Oklahoma State drove 80 yards for their only score of the first half, a 1-yard run by Trent Howland to make it 10-7 at halftime. Iowa State extended the lead to 17-7 on a 40-yard burst by Sama, who finished with 87 yards on 12 carries. The news wasn't all bad for Oklahoma State. On Tuesday, the team announced the selection of North Texas' Eric Morris as its new head football coach. Morris has North Texas contending for a conference championship and College Football Playoff berth. The Mean Green are No. 21 in the AP Top 25. Morris will step in for Mike Gundy, who was fired in September during his 21st season. Doug Meacham was 0-9 as the interim coach. - Iowa State/AP College Football

11/29/25 - QB Behren Morton, rSr/2026, Texas Tech + More +

Behren Morton threw for 310 yards and three touchdowns, linebacker Jacob Rodriguez scored his second offensive TD in as many games, and No. 7 Texas Tech beat West Virginia 49-0 on Saturday in the Red Raiders' final tuneup before the Big 12 championship game. Texas Tech (11-1, 8-1 Big 12, No. 5 CFP) had already clinched a spot in the title game against No. 11 BYU in Arlington, Texas, when Arizona State lost to Arizona on Friday night. But the Red Raiders had plenty of motivation, needing a win over the Mountaineers to continue their trajectory toward at least hosting a first-round home game in the College Football Playoff. Texas Tech was dominant from the start, scoring touchdowns on four of their first five drives. Unlike two weeks ago when he scored on a short run against UCF, Rodriguez didn't strike a Heisman pose after taking a direct snap and rushing for a 1-yard TD on Texas Tech's first offensive series. His other TD this season came on a 69-yard fumble return.

Just before halftime, Rodriguez, who began his college career as a quarterback at Virginia, lined up in the wildcat again from the West Virginia 1. He threw a pass intended for Terrance Carter that the Mountaineers' Ben Cutter intercepted in the back of the end zone. Morton showed no mobility problems while playing through a leg injury that prompted him to wear a boot during the team's bye week. Morton threw TD passes of 19 and 4 yards to Caleb Douglas and 4 yards to Cameron Dickey. Morton, who was replaced by Mitch Griffis early in the third quarter, completed 25 of 32 passes. Douglas had five catches for 127 yards. Freshman Scotty Fox Jr., the fourth starting quarterback for West Virginia (4-8, 2-7) this season due to injuries, was replaced in the third quarter by Max Brown. Brown's first completion as a Mountaineer was followed by a 67-yard interception return by Texas Tech's Amier Boyd. That set up the first of Micah Hudson's two TD catches from Lloyd Jones III. - Texas Tech/AP College Football

Pat McQuaide threw for three touchdowns and Isaiah Ragland ran for 152 yards and sixth-ranked Villanova overwhelmed No. 19 Harvard 52-7 on Saturday in a first round game of the FCS playoffs. Villanova (10-2), who entered the playoffs as a 12 seed, will travel to play third-ranked Lehigh (12-0) on Dec. 6. The Mountain Hawks are seeded fifth. The Wildcats took the opening drive 75 yards in seven plays and ended with a 45-yard touchdown by Ragland, who reached halftime with 128 yards rushing on 10 carries. Joe Jackson rushed for 142 yards and three touchdowns as Kansas State defeated Colorado 24-14 and earned bowl eligibility for the fifth straight season on a cold and blustery day. The game-time temperature was 32 degrees with a wind chill of 24. Quarterback Avery Johnson was 10-of-17 for 115 yards in difficult conditions for Kansas State (6-6, 5-4 Big 12). Kaidon Salter was 14-of-25 for 172 yards for Colorado (3-9, 1-8), who got two rushing touchdowns from Micah Welch. Jackson scored his second touchdown of the day from 1-yard out with 4:32 left in the third quarter. The score capped a 56-yard drive.

The Wildcats then made it a two-score game with a 35-yard field goal by Luis Rodriguez. The Wildcats stalled at the Colorado 19-yard line, but they burned 6:43 off the clock. Welch's second rushing touchdown of the game capped a nine-play, 75-yard drive and brought the Buffaloes to within 17-14. But Jackson's third touchdown, a 17-yard scamper with 2:34 left, extended the lead to 10 points. K-State used nearly half the first quarter to take a 7-0 lead on a 4-yard touchdown run by Jackson. Noah Fifita and Arizona's revamped defense produced the perfect capper to a turnaround season. Fifita threw for 286 yards and a touchdown, Arizona's defense forced five turnovers and the Wildcats spoiled rival Arizona State's Big 12 championship game hopes with a dominating 23-7 win on Friday night. The reigning Big 12 champion Sun Devils (8-4, 6-3 Big 12, No. 20 CFP) entered the most anticipated Territorial Cup game in a decade with a slim chance of reaching the title game again. Arizona (9-3, 6-3, No. 25 CFP) squeezed the life out of their chances with a suffocating defense that filled up their turnover sword and limited Arizona State to 214 total yards. Arizona's Michael Salgado-Medina made two of his three field goals in the second half after missing two kicks and having another blocked. Kedrick Reescano scored on a 1-yard touchdown run with 1:56 left and Dalton Johnson capped Arizona's fifth straight win with an interception near midfield. Not bad for a team that finished 4-8 in Brennan's first season. Sun Devils' quarterback Jeff Sims, making his fourth start for the injured Sam Leavitt, threw three interceptions and lost two fumbles.

His botched handoff at Arizona State's 6 to open the third quarter set up Fifita's 9-yard touchdown pass to Cameron Barmore that kicked off a run of 20 straight points by Arizona. Sims finished with 114 yards on 11-of-25 passing. Arizona State won last year's game 49-7 in Tucson, but Arizona has taken a huge step forward defensively in Brennan's second season, ranking in the top 25 nationally in numerous categories after being near the bottom last season. The Wildcats clamped down on the Sun Devils from the start, holding them to 15 yards in the first quarter. Arizona State found some success on the ground on a 90-yard drive capped by Sims' 27-yard run, but its only other sustained first-half drive ended when Jesus Gomez's 49-yard field goal clanked off the right goal post. The Wildcats spent most of the first half stumbling in Arizona State's end of the field. Quincy Craig lost a fumble at the Sun Devils' 8, Salgado-Medina missed a 42-yard field goal and had another from the same distance blocked. Arizona also failed to take advantage of Michael Dansby's interception to the ASU 37, punting after failing to gain a yard on three plays. Salgado-Medina kicked a 37-yard field goal in the closing seconds to cap a quick-hitting drive, making it 7-3 at halftime. - Arizona/AP College Football

Arch Manning threw a touchdown pass and ran for the clinching score late in the fourth quarter and No. 16 Texas beat No. 3 Texas A&M 27-17 on Friday night to spoil the Aggies' undefeated season and knock them out of the Southeastern Conference championship game. Manning's 29-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Wingo in the third quarter gave Texas (9-3, 6-2 SEC, No, 16 CFP) a 13-10 lead in what had been a tight, defensive game. His 35-yard run up the middle on third down with 7:04 left to play put the Longhorns up 27-17. Texas, which started the season No. 1 and at one point was unranked, beat a top-10 opponent for the third time this season to keep alive any faint hopes of making the College Football Playoff for the third consecutive time.

The Aggies (11-1, 7-1, No. 3 CFP) are all but assured their first playoff berth, but the loss to their biggest rival will sting the program for a long time. Texas A&M has never played for an SEC title since joining the league in the 2012 season. Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed, who had emerged as a late-season Heisman Trophy contender and led the Aggies' in a stunning second-half rally against South Carolina two weeks ago, threw two fourth-quarter interceptions against the Longhorns, one of them at the Texas 3. Texas A&M led 10-3 at halftime before Texas seized control with 17 consecutive points in the third quarter. The Aggies pulled to 20-17 before Manning's big TD run. Facing third-and-short, Manning ran through the right side of the line, found a seam to slip into the secondary, and clutched the ball tightly as he crossed the goal line ahead of a lunging defender. - Texas/AP College Football
