  12/14/20 - Xavior WilliamsrSr/2022, Iowa, 6-0, 195 (DS#71 CB) + More +

UNI defensive back Xavior Williams was selected as an East-West Shrine Bowl All-Star. The game will not be played, but Williams will have the chance to participate in virtual training sessions with NFL personnel and scouts ahead of the 2021 NFL draft. Williams is the third Panther to be selected for a post-season all-star game. Spencer Brown and Elerson Smith were both chosen to participate in the Reese's Senior Bowl. He is the sixth Panther to be chosen for the East-West Shrine Bowl since Coach Mark Farley took over the program in 2001.

In three seasons, Xavior finished with nine interceptions, including a pick-six, two fumble recoveries, including a fumble return touchdown, 33 passes defended and 122 total tackles. He also recorded 896 return yards during his career. He was expected to be a key contributor for the 2020 Panther defense before the season was moved to the spring. Williams, like Brown and Smith, chose to opt-out of their senior season and prepare for the draft. - Northern Iowa Football

Smith-Marsette's career-best 140 receiving yards on seven catches came at a price. He left the game after injuring his left ankle on the celebration and later returned to the sideline wearing a sweatshirt and a boot. But he'll always remember this game, the day he and the Hawkeyes got over the Wisconsin hump. "Do I regret the flip? No. Would I do it again? Yeah. I'm just happy we got the win," Smith-Marsette said. "Everyone was having fun. My senior year, never going to play in Kinnick again … got to go out with a bang." Iowa finished the game with 338 yards, 171 of them on three plays, against the nation's top-ranked defense. Petras finished 14-for-25 for 211 yards. His four second-half completions averaged 31 yards. - Iowa City Press-Citizen
