The Great Danes (8-4, 6-2), in the field of 24 for the first time since 2011, will host Central Connecticut State (11-1, 7-0) on Bob Ford Field at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium in the opening round game on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 1 p.m. UAlbany is making its second appearance into the FCS Playoffs. “We are thrilled to say the least,” said Head Coach Greg Gattuso. “We earned this. The players have been really good and played really well all year. We have learned how to win some close games and road games and that got us here. I am proud of them for their dedication to the system and for following what we ask them to do. We have fought through adversity and it’s been a really good year and hopefully we can make it better. Central Connecticut State finished 7-0 in the Northeast Conference, and won its sixth conference title earning an automatic bid into the field. “We have a tough opponent in Central Connecticut State but we will be ready to go. We are excited and the team is ready.” - Albany Football
