2019 ALL-COLONIAL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION FIRST TEAM (COACHES): Paul Grattan, Villanova, OL, Jr., Pittsburgh, Pa.,...Paul Grattan and Colin Gamroth have been mainstays on a Villanova offensive line which has been one of the Wildcats biggest team strengths. The line has given up just 12 quarterback sacks for a total loss of 84 yards all season, an average of one sack allowed per game. That ranks Villanova first in the CAA and seventh nationally in fewest sacks allowed. Villanova went three straight games earlier this year against Towson, Maine and William & Mary in which it did not allow a single sack. It was the first time that had happened since at least 2001 based on available data following the three-game stretch. The Wildcats offense has put up at least 20 points in all 12 games on the year, a feat not accomplished by Villanova since 1997. The play of the offensive line has enabled the Wildcats to average 192.1 rushing yards per game and top the 200-yard mark seven times in 12 contests. - Villanova Football

  11/03/19 - Joshua KelleyrSr/2020, UCLA, 5-11, 212 (DS#11 RB) + More +

UCLA has gone from woeful to controlling its own destiny in the Pac-12 South in less than a month. The Bruins won their third straight game as Dorian Thompson-Robinson passed for two touchdowns and Joshua Kelley added two rushing scores in a 31-14 victory over Colorado on Saturday night at the Rose Bowl. UCLA -- which is on its first three-game winning streak since 2015 -- goes into the bye week 4-5 overall but 4-2 in conference play. It trails ninth-ranked Utah by just a game in the division going into their Nov. 16 matchup in Salt Lake City. "It's definitely a good feeling, to know that you're in control of your own destiny, and stuff like that, and that you're able to go and make something out of it. Now we just have to go and put the work in and get it done," Thompson-Robinson said.

The Bruins victory mirrored their earlier wins against Stanford and Arizona State. Their offense was balanced, and the defense was able to get consistent pressure on Colorado quarterback Steven Montez. Thompson-Robinson was 21-of-28 for 226 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. The sophomore completed 10 of his first 11, including first-quarter TDs of 16 yards to Devin Asiasi and 45 yards to Ethan Fernea as the Bruins jumped out to a 17-0 lead 12 minutes into the game. The offense took advantage of the defense forcing the Buffaloes to go three-and-out on their first two possessions and Krys Barnes' interception on the third series. - UCLA/AP College Football

  11/02/19 - Zach CharbonnetSr/2023, UCLA, 6-0, 222 (DS#3 RB) + More +

Giles Jackson returned the opening kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown to get things started for No. 14 Michigan, which used two first-half scoring runs by freshman Zach Charbonnet to pull away from Maryland in a 38-7 victory on Saturday. Seeking to build on a 45-14 rout of Notre Dame one week earlier, the Wolverines (7-2, 4-2 Big Ten) went up 21-0 at halftime and coasted to the finish against the fading Terrapins (3-6, 1-5). Jackson's game-opening dash down the right sideline set the tone. Charbonnet ended Michigan's first drive with a 2-yard run, and the defense made those two scores stand up.

The Wolverines' special teams contributed, too. In addition to the kickoff return, Michigan used a successful fake punt to set up Charbonnet's second TD, and a partially blocked punt led to a third-quarter touchdown run by Hassan Haskins for a 35-0 lead. Wearing throwback uniforms from a far brighter era of Maryland football, the Terrapins absorbed an old-fashioned beatdown on homecoming. Maryland has lost six of seven under first-year coach Michael Locksley. Javon Leake's 97-yard kickoff return late in the third quarter was one of very few highlights for the Terrapins. Charbonnet has scored four touchdowns in the last two games. His 11 TDs are a Michigan single-season record for a freshman. - Michigan/AP College Football

Kelley rushed for 164 yards and a career-high four touchdowns in a 42-32 victory over Arizona State last weekend, the first Bruin with four rushing TDs in a game since Myles Jack in 2013. A junior, Kelley is just the fourth player nationally with four rushing touchdowns in a game this season, and first in the Pac-12. "You know, I like playing at the Rose Bowl," Kelley said following the performance. "We needed a win here, for sure. We haven't had a win at home this season. So that was an extra incentive for us. But our offensive line was so amazing. I can't do that without them." Kelly is averaging 105 yards a game this season, tops in the Pac-12, and he's second in the league to Moss with eight total touchdowns. - AP College Football

  10/27/19 - Joshua KelleyrSr/2020, UCLA, 5-11, 212 (DS#11 RB) + More +

UCLA coach Chip Kelly has often said that when running back Joshua Kelley plays well, the Bruins have a shot of winning. The senior running back had a career night Saturday, which is why the Bruins were able to beat a Top 25 team for the second time this season. Kelley scored a career-high four touchdowns and rushed for 164 yards in UCLA's 42-32 victory over 24th-ranked Arizona State. Kelley has rushed for over 100 yards in three of the past four games. He is the first Pac-12 player and fourth nationally this season to have four rushing touchdowns in a game. "We needed a win here for sure. That was extra incentive for us," said Kelley of the Bruins first home victory. "Us getting back-to-back wins is big for our young core."

Kelly is also the first Bruin with four ground TDs since Myles Jack against Washington in 2013. He helped fuel a UCLA ground game that had 217 yards, marking the first time since 2014 it has had four straight 200-yard games. "I think when everyone in the stadium knows you are going to run it and you are still able to do it, that's a credit to the whole group," Kelly said. The Bruins (3-5, 3-2) scored on five of their first six drives, including four consecutive possessions from late in the first quarter to midway in the third to roar out to a 35-7 lead after it was tied at 7. - UCLA/AP College Football

Kelley is averaging 135.3 yards in his last four games after mustering just 52 per game in his first three. He opened the scoring with 10:53 remaining in the first quarter on a leap over the middle from 1 yard. The touchdown came five plays after Elisha Guidry recovered Benjamin's fumble at the Sun Devils 42. The senior had 100 yards in the first half, including a 5-yard TD late in the first quarter and a 16-yard run up the middle midway through the second quarter as the Bruins took control. Both of those runs capped 16-play possessions, which is the first time the Bruins have had a pair of scoring drives of 15 plays or more since a game against Texas in 2014. He extended UCLA's lead to 35-7 with 10:40 remaining in the third quarter with a 15-yard touchdown. - UCLA/AP College Football

  10/27/19 - Zach CharbonnetSr/2023, UCLA, 6-0, 222 (DS#3 RB) + More +

Zach Charbonnet ran for two touchdowns in the first half and Shea Patterson threw for two scores in the second, helping No. 19 Michigan rout No. 8 Notre Dame 45-14 in driving rain Saturday night. The Wolverines (6-2) ended an eight-game losing streak against top-10 teams under coach Jim Harbaugh, who needed a signature win in his fifth season that likely won't end with the Big Ten title he and college football's winningest program desperately covet. The Fighting Irish (5-2) were knocked out of the College Football Playoff picture on the rain-filled night that seemed to affect them much more than Michigan.

Notre Dame took advantage of a questionable call on pass interference to set up Ian Book's 7-yard TD pass to Cole Kmet to pull within 10 points late in the third quarter. Michigan responded with Patterson's 8-yard touchdown pass to Donovan Peoples-Jones on the ensuing drive, which got off to a good start with Hassan Haskins' 49-yard run. The former linebacker finished with career-high 149 yards on 20 carries. Charbonnet had 74 yards rushing on 15 carries, giving Michigan a tandem of running backs to control the game behind an offensive line that created huge holes. Patterson threw his second TD early in the fourth, connecting on a 16-yard pass to Nico Collins, to put Michigan ahead 31-7. On a windy and wet night, it was difficult to throw the ball and Michigan's defense made it tough for the Irish to run. - Michigan/AP College Football

Dorian Thompson-Robinson wasn't sure he was going to start Thursday's game until just before game time. It turned out to be the best decision of the night. Thompson-Robinson, using the bye week to help his recovery from a leg injury that caused him to miss a game, passed for two touchdowns and ran for another in helping UCLA end an 11-year drought against Stanford with a 34-16 victory over the Cardinal. "I was day-to-day until tonight," Thompson-Robinson said. "I had been practicing but I was told just before game time." Thompson-Robinson passed for 192 yards and rushed for 66 as UCLA snapped an 11-game losing streak to the Cardinal, dating to 2008. Joshua Kelley rushed for 176 yards, including a 54-yard touchdown run and a 53-yard gain. Kyle Phillips caught 10 passes for 100 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

"A win is always good," Thompson-Robinson said. "It goes back to getting together in the offseason and working on things like this." Jack West became Stanford's third different starting quarterback of the season, the first time that's happened since 1974. After early success, his inconsistent play led to a stalled offense. "I'm always preparing to be the guy and this week happened to be the game," West said. "It's me making my first start but at the end of the day, it's about execution, which is what we didn't have." The Bruins (2-5, 2-2 Pac-12) scored touchdowns on their first two possessions, both passes to Phillips, to open a 14-3 lead with 4:48 remaining to play. It was UCLA's first lead of more than seven points this season. - UCLA/AP College Football
