  01/15/21 - TE Evidence NjokurJr/2023, UCLA, 6-4, 228 (DS#999 TE) + More +

UCLA tight end Evidence Njoku entered the transfer portal again, and this time he's got family to keep him company. Bruins wide receiver Charles Njoku also made himself available by entering the transfer portal, likely ending his stay in Westwood after a redshirt freshman season in which he caught three passes for 41 yards and a touchdown. Evidence Njoku, a redshirt junior, recorded no statistics in 2020 even though he was cleared to play immediately after having transferred from Miami. Charles Njoku did not play over the final three games of last season for unspecified reasons. - Los Angeles Times

  10/16/20 - TE Evidence NjokurJr/2023, UCLA, 6-4, 228 (DS#999 TE) + More +

UCLA's tight ends have barely made a blip at the college level, combining to make 13 catches. It's apparently enough to convince coach Chip Kelly that he should continue to make the position a focal point of an offense that sometimes features as many as four tight ends on the field at once. "No, we actually really like our tight end group," Kelly said Monday when asked whether his team would change its offensive approach. A wild card could be redshirt junior Evidence Njoku, a transfer from Miami (Fla.) who is waiting to find out if the NCAA will grant his request for an eligibility waiver. The brother of UCLA receiver Charles Njoku and Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku, Evidence made one catch with the Hurricanes while starting his career at receiver and moving to tight end. Njoku sparked laughter from his teammates when someone not on the team challenged him to a race this summer at Drake Stadium on campus. "The guy was like, 'Hey, man, I'm faster than you, I bet I can beat you,' " Dulcich said recently. "And then Evidence raced him on the spot, and he beat him." - Los Angeles Times

  07/13/20 - TE Evidence NjokurJr/2023, UCLA, 6-4, 228 (DS#999 TE) + More +

UCLA football officially added four transfers Monday: running back Brittain Brown, tight end Evidence Njoku and defensive backs Obi Eboh and Qwuantrezz Knight. Njoku had only one catch during his Miami career. He played in eight games in 2018 as a redshirt freshman, capped off by his 11-yard reception in the regular-season finale against Pittsburgh, but appeared in only one last season before entering the transfer portal in November. With transfers from Jordan Wilson and Matt Lynch, and Devin Asiasi getting drafted in the third round, the Bruins could use Njoku in the tight end rotation this year if he can obtain a waiver. - Los Angeles Times
