Michael Pratt found Shae Wyatt with a 30-yard touchdown pass with 5 minutes left to lead No. 19 Tulane to a 27-24 win over No. 24 Cincinnati on Friday, making the Green Wave the hosts for the upcoming American Conference Championship game. Tyjae Spears rushed for two touchdowns and had 181 yards to contribute to the cause for Tulane (10-2, 7-1 AAC), which beat Cincinnati (9-3, 6-2) for the first time in five tries. Tulane also snapped the Bearcats' 32-game home streak. Pratt went 13-for-22 passing for 162 yards and the winning touchdown. He also rushed for 30 yards on nine carries.

Redshirt sophomore Evan Prater started at quarterback for Cincinnati in place of Ben Bryant, who suffered a foot injury in the win over Temple. Overall, Prater was 10-for-26 for 102 yards and rushed for 83 yards on 18 carries. But he was intercepted by Dorian Williams on a tipped pass to Devean Deal midway through the third quarter. Bryon Threats was flagged for pass interference on a fourth-and-3 pass attempt to set up Spears' go-ahead two-yard run. Tulane had a 13-10 lead at halftime as Valentino Ambrosio kicked a 47-yard field goal with 21 seconds left. The kick followed a 28-yard pass from Pratt to Lawrence Keys III, which was ruled a touchdown on the field as Keys appeared to roll over Arquon Bush for a 58-yard score but overturned when replays showed Keys' knee touched the turf. - Tulane/AP College Football

NOV 21 AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Michael Pratt, Jr., QB, Tulane,...Pratt figured in six touchdowns to lead Tulane to a 59-24 win against SMU, keeping the Green Wave tied for first place in the American Athletic Conference standings entering the final week of conference play. Pratt was an efficient 9-of-14 for 141 yards and three touchdowns and added 70 rushing yards on 10 carries with three TDs on the ground before coming out of the game with the Green Wave ahead 56-14.   Michael Pratt passed for three touchdowns and ran for three scores, and No. 21 Tulane capitalized on a slew of SMU mistakes to beat the Mustangs 59-24 on Thursday night. Tyjae Spears carried 13 times for 121 yards - his fifth straight game eclipsing 100 yards rushing. He scored two touchdowns rushing and another receiving for Tulane (9-2, 6-1 American Athletic Conference), which beat SMU for the first time in eight meetings and can clinch a berth in the conference title game by winning its regular-season finale at Cincinnati. SMU (6-5, 4-3) came in as one of the top offenses in the AAC, averaging 486.4 yards and a league-high 40.3 points per game. But the Mustangs were plagued by dropped passes and five turnovers as they dropped out of contention for a conference title game berth.

Tanner Mordecai was intercepted twice and lost a fumble when he was sacked by Darius Hodges. SMU fumbled five times in all, losing three. The Mustangs' first turnover came on a muffed punt by Roderick Daniels that Tulane long snapper Ethan Hudak recovered on the SMU 7. That set up Spears' TD reception to make it 21-0 late in the first quarter. A muffed punt by Tulane returner Jha'Quan Jackson deep in Green Wave territory looked like a potential momentum changer when SMU immediately converted that break into a 19-yard TD pass from Mordecai to RJ Maryland. But the Green Wave responded quickly with Michael Pratt's 26-yard, tackle-slipping scoring run. Tulane opened the second half by widening its lead to 35-7 on Pratt's floating, 26-yard timing pass to Shae Wyatt, who made an over-the-shoulder catch and narrowly got his feet in bounds before falling out of the left side of the end zone. One play after Tulane safety Lummie Young intercepted Mordecai, Pratt found Wyatt well behind the SMU defense for a 46-yard score that made it 49-7. Wyatt finished with three catches for 104 yards. - Tulane/AP College Football

Frank Peasant ran 17 times for 84 yards and two touchdowns and Middle Tennessee scored the final 17 points to beat Charlotte 24-14 Saturday night. Elijah Metcalf caught eight passes for 84 yards for Middle Tennessee (5-5, 2-4 Conference USA). The Blue Raiders won for just the second time since a road win over then-No. 25 Miami on Sept. 24. Chris Reynolds completed 28 of 49 passes for 277 yards and two touchdowns with an interception for Charlotte (2-9, 1-6). The 49ers have lost back-to-back games and six of their last seven. Marley Cook blocked a Charlotte punt early in the third quarter and Jordan Ferguson scooped it up and scored for the Blue Raiders to make it 14-all, Peasant capped an eight-play, 79-yard drive with a 13-yard TD run early in the fourth and Zeke Rankin added a 21-yard field goal that capped the scoring with about 2 minutes to play. - Middle Tennessee/AP College Football

Tyjae Spears ran for 157 yards and a touchdown and Shaadie Clayton-Johnson gained 106 to lead No. 19 Tulane to a 27-13 win over Tulsa on Saturday. Tulane (8-1, 5-0 American Athletic Conference) had lost the past two meetings with Tulsa (3-6, 1-4) in overtime, but controlled this one with a dominant running game. The Hurricane gained 357 yards on the ground, with Spears and Johnson each running the ball 14 times. "Our offensive line did a terrific job," Tulane coach Willie Fritz said. "Bodies on bodies is a big part of it." Tulsa had won seven of the first eight home games with Tulane. Michael Pratt completed 11 of 19 passes for 125 yards for Tulane. He was victimized by a walk-off interception return for a touchdown in overtime two seasons ago. Fritz didn't worry about the losses in the past two years.

"Each year is different, said Fritz. "This is the 2022 Tulane Green Wave, and this is the 2022 Tulsa Golden Hurricane. We have to do a good job of flushing those down the toilet and playing and not worrying about the past successes or failures and playing the best that you can.". Tulsa was playing without starting quarterback Davis Brin, who has been banged up but hadn't missed a game in the last two years. Brin had beaten Tulane the last two years. Braylon Braxton couldn't rally the faltering Golden Hurricane, completing 13 of 25 passes for 146 yards and a touchdown. Tulsa coach Philip Montgomery said playing Tulane can be frustrating. "Defensively, they did a good job on us," Montgomery said. "They can really eat up the clock when they get the lead. Tulane had taken a two-touchdown lead on Spear's 34-yard touchdown run. Tulsa cut it to 17-10 at halftime on Braxton's 28-yard touchdown pass to JuanCarlos Santana. But Tulane went up 24-10 on its first possession of the second half on a 20-yarder from Pratt to Shae Wyatt, and was never threatened again. - Tulane/AP College Football

Michael Pratt threw for a touchdown and ran for another, Tyjae Spears ran for 125 yards and another score and No. 25 Tulane celebrated its first Top 25 ranking since 1998 with a dominant first half and hung on to beat Memphis 38-28 on Saturday. The Green Wave (7-1, 4-0 American Athletic) scored on three of their first four possessions and took a 35-0 lead into the second half before the Tigers rallied. Seth Henigan had 257 of his 312 passing yards in the second half for the Tigers (4-4, 2-3), finishing with three touchdowns and two interceptions. Eddie Lewis hauled in two of the touchdowns, finishing with three receptions for 94 yards. Pratt and the Tulane offense drove 80 yards in 11 plays on their opening drive, with the Green Wave quarterback running it in from six yards out to make it 7-0.

The first of Memphis' two special teams miscues came after their first drive stalled, as Tulane's Jha'Quan Jackson caught the resulting punt at his 10, got a key block before exploding down the right sideline for the 90-yard return for a touchdown. The Green Wave recovered a muffed put at the Memphis 12, and Spears took it in three plays later to make it 21-0 with 2:02 remaining in the opening quarter. Memphis finally got untracked in the third quarter with a pair of touchdown passes from Henigan, first on a 7-yard pass to Koby Drake and then a 33-yard strike to Lewis. Henigan connected with Lewis again for a 55-yard score with just over four minutes left in the game to pull the Tigers to within 10, but the ensuing onside attempt went out of bounds. A final drive ended when the Tigers drove to the Tulane 6, but Henigan was intercepted in the end zone. Pratt threw for 158 yards. - Tulane/AP College Football
