  Tulane quarterback Michael Pratt and center Sincere Haynesworth said on a podcast Tuesday night they were returning to the team in 2023, ending recent speculation regarding Pratt and reversing a senior night decision in Haynesworth's case. Pratt, a third-year player who was named second-team All-American Athletic Conference, never said a word about intending to leave after guiding the Green Wave to the league championship. Still, rumors persisted he would seek an NIL deal at a Power Five conference school-possibly Florida in his home state-and play somewhere else as a senior after 14th-ranked Tulane (11-2) faces No. 10 USC (11-2) in the Cotton Bowl on Jan. 2.

Haynesworth, a first-team All-AAC pick and two-year co-captain just like Pratt, has started 36 consecutive games from 2020 to 2022 after making 11 appearances with five starts as a freshman in 2019. He participated in senior night ceremonies before Tulane's final regular-season home game against SMU on Nov. 17-leading everyone to believe he would apply for the NFL draft-but he was eligible for another season due to the free COVID year the NCAA granted all players in 2020. - New Orleans Times Picayune

Allen finds himself on the All-OVC First Team Defense after earning second-team honors last season at Austin Peay. Allen finished the year with 36 tackles (20 solo and 16 assists), while leading the team in tackles for loss (12.0), and finishing tied-in sacks with 4.5. He also swatted down two passes and had seven quarterback hurries. Allen dominated UTM's offensive line, collecting nine tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and one sack.   2022 ALL-AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM: RB Tyjae Spears, Tulane, Jr.,...Spears leads the team and is placed third in the conference with his 1,177 yards rushing. He became just the sixth different Tulane player to ever top 1,000 yards rushing in a single season. Spears has topped 100-yards in seven games this year including six straight to end the regular season. Spears was named the AAC Player of the Week on Nov. 28 after running for 181 yards against Cincinnati in the 27-24 road victory over the Bearcats. Spears leads the conference and is placed eighth nationally in touchdowns scored with 16. His 16 touchdowns scored (14 rushing and two receiving) are the third-most ever in a single season for a Tulane player. His 96 points scored this year is the sixth-highest single season total in school history. He is also one of seven players on the team with 20 or more receptions this year.
