  12/12/20 - *Ronnie PerkinsJr/2021, Oklahoma, 6-3, 253 (DS#14 DE) + More +

"I'm just excited to go out there and be on tape again," Perkins said. "Just putting my skill set on tape, no matter if it's pass-rushing or playing the run. No matter what it is I'm just happy to go out there and put some stuff on tape to make myself look better." The "tape" Perkins is trying to build is the video NFL franchises will use to evaluate him as a pro prospect. and his opportunities to craft a compelling portfolio have been limited. Perkins missed OU's first five games because of a suspension stemming from last season. So, the St. Louis, Missouri, native didn't make his 2020 debut until Oct. 31 against Texas Tech but has played in each game since.

Through four outings, Perkins has eight tackles for loss, including four sacks, and six quarterback hurries. Perkins stands to gain plenty with OU playing its 10th regular season game against West Virginia, as well as getting an extra 60 minutes of exposure in the Big 12 championship against Iowa State a week later. Those chances to show off his skill set will be especially important if he declares for the NFL draft in January. They will be even more important if the NFL isn't able to conduct a normal combine, assuming he would be invited, or OU can't host its usual pro day in the spring. - Norman Transcript

  12/05/20 - Rhamondre StevensonSr/2021, Oklahoma, 6-0, 231 (DS#14 RB) + More +

Lincoln Riley's words about Rhamondre Stevenson could've very easily been Bob Stoops' talking about DeMarco Murray a few years ago. "He's a great combination," Riley said of Stevenson last month. "When you get a guy that's tough to tackle and has some breakaways and catches the ball pretty good and is able to jump cut right and left, great feet, it's a good combination." With DeMarco Murray coaching the OU running backs this season, Stevenson has transformed from a solid back who was primarily the Sooners' third option into one that has been more than capable of carrying the load in the three games since he returned from suspension.

Stevenson could hardly believe it when he heard of Murray's hiring. "It was surreal, really, if I'm being honest," Stevenson said. "It was very exciting. When I had that first meeting with him, I just knew he was going to be great." Stevenson and Murray are both from Las Vegas. Their high schools, though they went at different times, are 16 miles apart and their football teams sometimes face each other. So it's no surprise that Stevenson grew up watching and rooting for Murray, who Stevenson called his "favorite running back." But that affection goes far beyond their shared hometown. "I just liked how he ran the ball," Stevenson said. "The Cowboys are actually my favorite football team, so that plays a part as well." - Daily Oklahoman

  11/25/20 - Michael Woods IISr/2022, Oklahoma, 6-2, 203 (DS#60 WR) + More +

Arkansas receiver Mike Woods is on a big-play streak after catching four passes for a career-high 140 yards against LSU. Woods has 2 touchdowns and 269 receiving yards on his last 6 receptions, which averages to 44.8 yards per catch. "Give that man a nickname," SEC Network analyst Matt Stinchcomb said after Woods' second 50-yard catch to set up Trelon Smith's go-ahead touchdown late in the third quarter. "Big-play Mike. All he does is catch balls downfield." Woods said the big plays are must-haves in the SEC.

"We've got big-play players on our team," Woods said. "Our wideout room is full of big-play players. So is our running back room." Woods has improved his average to 20.5 yards per catch, highest on the team. His 553 receiving yards trails Treylon Burks by 45 yards for the team lead. "He just continues to get better," Coach Sam Pittman said. "He's a go-to guy." Woods said he looks for the go-route option when the Razorbacks see man coverage. "When it's man-to-man, I'm already looking at Coach [Kendal] Briles," Woods said to describe how his big plays came about against LSU. "I just went deep. You've got to make plays in this league. You've got to make plays and contested catches." - Northwest Arkansas Times

  11/21/20 - Rhamondre StevensonSr/2021, Oklahoma, 6-0, 231 (DS#14 RB) + More +

Spencer Rattler passed for 301 yards and four touchdowns and ran for another score to help No. 18 Oklahoma beat No. 14 Oklahoma State 41-13 on Saturday night and boost its hopes of winning a sixth straight Big 12 championship. Rhamondre Stevenson ran for a career-high 141 yards, and Theo Wease caught two touchdown passes for the Sooners in their fifth straight victory. Oklahoma (6-2, 5-2) won its sixth straight in the series and extended its November winning streak to 23 dating to 2014. Oklahoma State running back Chuba Hubbard was held to 44 yards on eight carries, and the Cowboys (5-2, 4-2) gained just 246 total yards.

Iowa State leads the Big 12 with just one conference loss, and Oklahoma State joined Oklahoma and Texas with two league losses in the race to qualify for the Big 12 Championship Game. Oklahoma raced to a 21-0 lead in the first nine minutes on the strength of three touchdowns by Rattler - two passing and one rushing. The Sooners led 21-7 at the end of the first quarter. It was the most points Oklahoma has scored in a first quarter against Oklahoma State in Norman. Oklahoma State quarterback Spencer Sanders left the game in the first quarter after Oklahoma defensive end Ronnie Perkins slammed him to the ground. Shane Illingworth replaced him and threw a touchdown pass to help cut Oklahoma's lead to 27-13 at halftime, but he struggled from there before being replaced by Sanders in the fourth quarter. - Oklahoma/AP College Football
