  After playing two seasons, Georgia Tech defensive end Kelton Dawson has entered the transfer portal. Dawson announced the decision Monday from his Twitter account. It was first reported earlier in the day by Rivals. Dawson, from Stockbridge High, played in a total of 12 games in two seasons with a total of 27 tackles. Last season, he played in 10 games and started seven with 26 tackles - three for loss - two quarterback hurries and one forced fumble. - Atlanta Journal Constitution

He concluded the season with 52 tackles, including 16.5 tackles for a loss and 10.0 sacks, forced three fumbles and had one interception. The redshirt senior led the OVC in sacks per game (0.83) and was second in tackles for a loss (1.38 per game). He ranks 11th nationally in sacks per game, 22nd in forced fumbles and 29th in tackles for a loss per game). He is a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award, given to the top defensive player in FCS football. The Dayton, Ohio native had a season-best eight tackles, including two sacks, in a win over Tennessee State. He had a season-high 3.5 tackles for a loss against nationally-ranked Southeast Missouri.   2019 ALL-OHIO VALLEY CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM (COACHES): Daryl McCleskey Jr., Eastern Kentucky,...McCleskey was the only player in the conference to rush for 1,000 yards this season, finishing with 454 more yards than any other. The senior totaled 1,238 yards on 214 carries for an average of 5.8 yards per touch. He scored eight touchdowns on the ground and caught one. He finished the season with 28 receptions, the second-most on the team, for 197 yards. In addition to leading the OVC in rushing, McCleskey was fourth in rushing touchdowns and third in all-purpose yards (119.6 per game). He is ninth in the country in rushing yards, 13th in yards per game, 23rd in yards per carry and 57th in rushing touchdowns. The Dayton native ran for a career-best, and eclipsed the 2,000-yard career rushing mark, with 202 yards against Tennessee State. - Eastern Kentucky Football

  2019 ALL-OHIO VALLEY CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM (COACHES): K - Samuel Hayworth, Eastern Kentucky,...Hayworth finished the 2019 season 18-for-22 on field goal attempts with three of his misses coming from 40 yards or more away. He went 17-for-18 on attempts from inside the 40 yard line. The redshirt senior also made all 37 of his extra-point attempts. The Ormond Beach, Florida native led the OVC in scoring this season with 7.6 points per game. He was second in the conference in field goal percentage (81.8 percent) and field goals per game (1.50 per game). He ranks ninth in the nation in field goals per game and 16th in field goal percentage. The senior had a season-best eight tackles in a win over Tennessee State in September; he also had 2.0 sacks in that game, a mark he equaled in the season finale victory over Jacksonville State, marking the Colonels first win over the Gamecocks since 2012. Patrick added a season-high 3.5 tackles for loss in a game against nationally-ranked Southeast Missouri in early November. The senior connected from 34, 24, 25, 50 and 28 yards on field goal attempts and was 2-of-2 on PATs in the six-point win. He hit from 50 yards and 28 yards in the fourth quarter which proved to be the difference in the win. He broke the previous school record of 16 kicking points set by Jamie Lovett in 1983. Hayworth also kicked off seven times with three touchbacks. He currently ranks ninth nationally in field goals/game (1.5) and 16th in field goal percentage (81.8%).   Samuel Hayworth made 5-of-6 field goal attempts - including a 50-yarder - and Conor Blount threw a touchdown and Eastern Kentucky beat Jacksonville State 29-23 on Saturday. Hayworth made kicks from 34, 24, 25, 50 and 28-yards in the win. Blount's 17-yard touchdown pass to Jack Berman to start the third quarter broke a 9-all tie. After the teams traded punts, Zerrick Cooper threw a 40-yard completion to Jamari Hester to put the ball at the Colonels' 10-yard line. On the next play, Cooper threw a 10-yard score to KJ Stephenson to tie it at 16 apiece. Eastern Kentucky (7-5, 5-3 Ohio Valley Conference) took the lead for good when Alonzo Booth crashed in from a yard out with 3:47 left in the third. Daryl McCleskey Jr. had 110 yards rushing on 24 carries for the Colonels. Jacksonville State's (6-6, 3-5) Cooper threw all three of his touchdowns to Stephenson. Cooper threw for 311 yards on 21-of-35 completions with Hester catching nine passes for 186 yards. Cooper also had 44 yards rushing on 17 carries. - AP College Football
