  05/18/22 - Cade FortinrSr/2024, Arkansas, 6-2, 224 (DS#57 QB) + More +

Scoping SEC QB transfers: Eleven quarterbacks transferred to 10 SEC schools this offseason, with South Carolina's Spencer Rattler the lone guaranteed starter of the entire group. Here is On3.com ratings. No. 10 - Cade Fortin, Arkansas (from USF). A former Texas A&M commit and North Carolina signee, Fortin joined the Razorbacks' program as a preferred walk-on in January. Fortin has transferred once already before, starting the first two games for South Florida in 2021. He averaged just 3.8 yards per attempt with two interceptions in two losses, and while Arkansas' quarterback room is thin, Fortin is unlikely to see action with the Hogs. - On3.com

  05/17/22 - Matt LandersrSr/2023, Arkansas, 6-4, 200 (DS#25 WR) + More +

Former Toledo receiver Matt Landers has committed to Arkansas after wrapping up an official visit to Fayetteville on Thursday. Landers, 6-5, 201 pounds, chose the Razorbacks over Auburn, Miami and several other programs. Arkansas coach Sam Pittman was on the Georgia staff from 2016-19 and special teams coordinator Scott Fountain served as a special teams analyst for the Bulldogs in 2017 and special teams coordinator in 2019. Knowing Pittman, Fountain and others on staff made him feel comfortable.

He also likes offensive coordinator Kendal Briles' scheme. "Really just a great fit," said Landers, who plans to report to Fayetteville on May 30. "Great organization. Great offensive coordinator, great receivers coach and great staff. Like I said, just familiar faces. Really just the relationships, the energy, the culture coach Pitt is forming at Arkansas." Other familiar faces include director of player development Fernando Velasco, who was in Athens, Ga., from 2017-19, and director of strength and conditioning Jamil Walker, who was also at Georgia for three years prior to coming to Fayetteville. Razorbacks defensive back Latavious Brini transferred to Arkansas from Georgia in January. An ESPN 3-star prospect out Lakewood High School in St. Petersburg, Fla., in 2017, Landers chose Georgia over Florida, Auburn, Florida State, Louisville, Miami, Michigan and other schools. He redshirted at Georgia in 2017 and played from 2018-20 and had 12 catches for 132 yards and 1 touchdown before transferring to Toledo last year. - Northwest Arkansas Times

Poised for a 2022 standout season: Oklahoma transfer wide receiver Jadon Haselwood could be the heir apparent to NFL-bound Treylon Burks.   05/06/22 - Matt LandersrSr/2023, Arkansas, 6-4, 200 (DS#25 WR) + More +

Toledo's offensive production might have taken a hit Tuesday, as wide receiver Matt Landers entered the transfer portal. The 6-foot-5 target caught 18 passes for 486 yards and five touchdowns in UT's final five games last season, developing into the deep threat that many thought he would be after committing to the University of Georgia out of high school. Landers spent three years at Georgia, catching 10 passes for 105 yards in 2019, including three for 25 yards in the Bulldogs' Sugar Bowl victory over Baylor. In 2020, Landers had two receptions for 27 yards. Height, sure hands, and breakaway speed will make Landers a coveted target in the transfer portal. - Toledo Blade

  05/05/22 - Luke JonesrSr/2023, Arkansas, 6-5, 327 (DS#999 OT) + More +

Seems these 2022 Arkansas Razorbacks have big shoes to fill at left offensive tackle. Really big shoes, considering departed 2021 senior Myron Cunningham goes 6-6, 325 pounds. Start naming Razorbacks who helped to a 9-4 record and Cunningham typically doesn't get mentioned until somewhere down the line. "You say he was underrated?" Arkansas offensive coordinator Kendal Briles said. "He wasn't underrated by us." Or by KJ Jefferson, the right-handed starting quarterback whose blind side Cunningham protected. "He limited a lot of the mistakes that we had protecting KJ's backside last year," Briles said. "And he did a really nice job in the run game." Coach Sam Pittman, offensive line coach Cody Kennedy and Briles spent the spring auditioning left tackles like the staff auditioned receivers since All-American Treylon Burks turned pro.

The auditioning left tackle tribe includes Luke Jones, the 6-5, 327 fifth-year senior who transferred from Notre Dame, redshirt freshman Devon Manuel, true freshman Andrew Chamblee and even fourth-year junior starting guard Brady Latham. Jones has been a handyman guard/center/tackle lettering twice for Pittman after redshirting with Chad Morris' 2019 Razorbacks when Division 1 transfers still had to redshirt. Jones has done fine as a reserve but will be required to step up as starting left tackle. "I think Luke's done a good job," Pittman said. "He's got to work his backside cutoffs. He needs work there. Done a nice job in pass protection." - Northwest Arkansas Times

  04/30/22 - Terry HamptonrSr/2023, Arkansas, 6-0, 303 (DS#44 DT) + More +

Former Arkansas State defensive lineman Terry Hampton will make an official visit to Arkansas this weekend. He arrived in Fayetteville on Friday 4-29). Hampton, 6-0, 293 pounds, played in six games after suffering a season-ending knee injury. He recorded 11 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss. As a sophomore, he played in 11 games and had 35 tackles, 6 tackles for loss and 2 sacks. Hampton has recorded 61 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks in his career. Hampton, who entered the NCAA transfer portal on April 15, has offers from Arkansas, Texas Tech, SMU, Illinois, Houston, Oregon State, Western Kentucky and Utah State. He has one year of eligibility remaining. The Razorbacks have also extended an offer to Nebraska transfer defensive lineman Casey Rogers. Hampton signed with the Red Wolves out of El Dorado in 2018. Arkansas coach Sam Pittman said the Razorbacks hope to add two defensive tackles and a receiver from the transfer portal. - Northwest Arkansas Times

Georgia Tech added depth to the offensive line with the addition of former Kansas offensive lineman Corey Robinson. A Roswell High grad, Robinson announced his decision to transfer to Tech on Wednesday. Robinson went into the transfer portal April 15 after the close of Kansas' spring practice. Robinson, listed at 6-foot-5 and 270 pounds, did not appear in any games for Kansas last season, his first with the team. He has four seasons of eligibility remaining. In spring practice highlights posted on his Twitter account, Robinson was lined up at left tackle. He was a three-star prospect at Roswell.   12/17/21 - *Treylon BurksJr/2022, Arkansas, 6-2, 224 (DS#4 WR) + More +

Burks has put together one of the finest seasons by a wide receiver in school history with 66 catches for 1,104 yards and 11 touchdowns. The combined stats for the next five highest pass catchers (Tyson Morris, Trey Knox, Warren Thompson, Blake Kern and De'Vion Warren) for the Razorbacks this season: 84 receptions for 1,121 yards and 7 touchdowns. Pittman said he had a discussion with Burks about his draft status, which Pittman said was late first round to early second round. "When he made his decision, I supported it and, not that he needed it, but I supported him," Pittman said. Pittman added he thinks Burks' draft stock will rise after he participates in the NFL Scouting Combine and goes through workouts. Burks hasn't been a one-man show in the Razorback receiving ranks, but the 6-3, 225-pounder has been a force that no one else could equal. "I feel like he'll do great things in the NFL and stuff like that," Morris said. "But I feel like it's the next man up mentality. I have to step up. The young guys have to step up. Everybody has to step up and play together as a quota." - Northwest Arkansas Times

  12/14/21 - Ricky StrombergSr/2023, Arkansas, 6-3, 306 (DS#4 C) + More +

Arkansas center Ricky Stromberg announced on Friday he would be returning for his senior season rather than declaring early for the NFL Draft. The decision adds another key piece to the projected 2022 offensive line for the Razorbacks, who will be losing key super seniors Myron Cunningham and Ty Clary. "I had a couple of meetings with Coach [Sam] Pittman after Missouri," Stromberg said. "We talked about my [NFL Draft] grade and I didn't really like my grade at the time." Stromberg, a 6-4, 310-pounder from Tulsa Union, thinks another year of seasoning with Pittman and offensive line coach Cody Kennedy should help his stock. "With Coach Pittman and Coach Kennedy, I think it's a no-brainer to come back and go up from there," Stromberg said. - Northwest Arkansas Times

Arkansas center Ricky Stromberg announced Friday he will return for his senior season in 2022. Stromberg was considered a prospect for next year's draft had he decided to enter the draft after his junior season. "I love the great state of Arkansas and our great fan base so much," Stromberg wrote. "I love my teammates and coaches that always have my back and I will always have (theirs). "For those reasons, I have decided to return for my senior year and forego the 2022 NFL Draft." Stromberg, a native of Tulsa, Okla., has been a starter since his freshman season in 2019. He has played in 33 games and started 30 in three seasons at Arkansas. - Northwest Arkansas Times
