  2019 ALL-NORTHEAST CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM (COACHES): RB Mark Allen, Duquesne, Sr.,...Allen collects his first all-conference honor in his first season on The Bluff. The Penn State graduate transfer ranked second in the NEC and 32nd in the FCS averaging 119.4 all-purpose yards per game. He tallied 689 rushing yards with four rushing touchdowns, 15 receptions for 129 yards, 17 punt returns for 185 yards and a touchdown as well as eight kick returns for 191 yards. Allen registered a career-high 168 rushing yards on 30 carries with a pair of touchdowns to lead the Dukes to a big road win at Dayton this season, a performance which secured him NEC Offensive Player of the Week honors.   OCT 28 NEC SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: MARK ALLEN, DUQUESNE, RB, Sr., 5-7, 185 lbs., Hyattsville, MD/Penn State,...WEEK 9 Stats: 2 punt returns, 75 PR yards, 65-yard PR TD,...Allen became the first NEC athlete to return a punt to paydirt this season. The graduate transfer running back, who scored on a two-yard rush early in the second half, found the end zone again in the opening minute of the fourth quarter. He fielded a 47-yard punt on the far hash mark at his own 35-yard line and worked his way to the near sideline before turning on the burners. Allen's 65-yard punt return gave the Dukes a 28-14 advantage with 14:36 remaining. Allen, who made two fair catches earlier in the contest, added a 10-yard punt return from his own 9-yard line with 4:04 left on the clock. - NEC Football

  Mark Allen returned a punt 65 yards for a touchdown 24 seconds into the fourth quarter and Duquesne held on for a 28-24 victory over Wagner on Saturday. After a scoreless first quarter, Wagner built a 14-0 lead halfway through the second when Christian Alexander-Stevens capped back-to-back drives with scoring runs of 16 and 9 yards, respectively. Duquesne (5-2, 3-0 Northeast Conference) responded with two touchdowns in the final 1:55 of the quarter. Daniel Parr capped an 11-play, 69-yard drive with a 16-yard TD toss to Davie Henderson on third-and-13. The Dukes' Jake Dixon forced Myron Morris to fumble on the ensuing kickoff and Connor Barrett recovered at Wagner's 24-yard line. Duquesne used 10 plays to score with A.J. Hines running it in from 1-yard.

Duquesne opened the third quarter with an eight-play, 77-yard drive that ended with Allen's 2-yard TD run for a 21-14 lead. Allen followed with his punt return for a two-score lead. Alexander-Stevens' third rushing TD pulled the Seahawks (1-7, 1-2) within 28-21 with 12:40 remaining. Eric Silvester's 32-yard field goal reduced the deficit to four with 7:47 left. Mason Williams ended it when he picked off Alexander-Stevens with 1:41 left. Hines finished with 113 yards on 26 carries for Duquesne, which amassed 218 yards on the ground but just 72 through the air.   SEPT 23/WEEK 4 NEC CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: MARK ALLEN, DUQUESNE, RB, Gr., 5-7, 185 lbs., Hyattsville, MD/DeMatha Catholic,...WEEK 4 Stats: 201 scrimmage yards, 168 rush yards, 30 rushes, 2 TD rushes, 2 receptions, 33 rec yards,...Receiving the bulk of the work load in the absence of All-American running back AJ Hines, Allen stepped up and carried Duquesne to victory in its annual meeting with PFL member Dayton. The graduate transfer gained 201 yards from scrimmage and scored two go-ahead touchdowns in a 35-31 road win. Spoiling the home opener for 2-0 Dayton, Allen rushed 30 times for 168 yards and logged 33 yards on two receptions.

The former Penn State undergraduate went for 43 yards during the game's opening possession, which ended on a touchdown pass from Daniel Parr to Kellon Taylor. Allen's first touchdown, an one-yard play, capped a 65-yard drive and broke a 7-7 tie with 1:08 remaining in the opening quarter. He accounted for a 17-yard burst into the red zone on the Dukes' first drive of the second half. Allen was a workhorse on the fourth-quarter drive that gave Duquesne the lead for good. The veteran ball carrier rushed seven times for 38 yards, ending with a one-yard touchdown plunge that put the Dukes in front, 35-31, with 7:13 to play. - Northeast Conference Football
