  2019 PRESEASON ALL-SAC FOOTBALL SECOND TEAM: DL Cal Hanford, Wingate,...Hanford had a big season in 2018, ranking second on the team with 9.0 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks. He finished the year with 43 tackles, six QB hurries, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, an interception and a touchdown. He had a pair of sacks in the Tusculum victory, while returning an interception 52 yards for a touchdown in the Catawba win. Hanford added 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery in the play-off win at #10 West Georgia. - Wingate Football

  2019 PRESEASON ALL-SAC FOOTBALL FIRST TEAM: RB Nijere Peoples, Wingate,...Peoples was named the SAC Offensive Freshman of the Year in 2018. He ranked second in the SAC with 1,103 rushing yards and 100.3 yards per game, while leading the league with 14 rushing touchdowns. An All-SAC and All-Region selection as a freshman, Peoples averaged 5.3 yards per carry while going over 130 rushing yards in five different games, which included a 239-yard performance against Limestone with five touchdowns. - Wingate Football

The senior had 28 catches last season, ranking second on the team with 447 yards and five touchdowns. He also had 12 punt returns for 123 yards. He registered 50 tackles on the season, with 1.5 tackles for loss. He piled up a team-best 18 passes defended, while also leading the 'Dogs with 15 pass breakups. Washington had three interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery on the season.
