  2019 AFCA DIVISION II COACHES' SECOND TEAM ALL-AMERICAN: OL Andrew Strickland, Sr., Wingate (N.C.),...After missing all of the 2018 season due to injury, Strickland started every game at right tackle in 2019. He earned first team All-SAC honors in 2019, while also earning Academic All-District accolades from CoSIDA. Strickland anchored a Wingate offensive line that helped the Bulldogs produce one of the most balanced offenses in the country. The 'Dogs ranked second in the SAC with 202.3 passing yards per game, while ranking third in the conference with 193.5 rushing yards. Wingate averaged 33.6 points per contest, the second-most in school history.

Strickland led an offensive line that helped pave the way for a pair of first team all-conference running backs. With Strickland leading the way, running backs Domineke McNeill and Nijere Peoples combined for 1,825 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns, with each back averaging over five yards per carry. Both ranked in the top four in the league in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns. Strickland also played a key role in Wingate's passing attack, with sophomore quarterback Shaw Crocker earning second team All-SAC honors, ranking second in the league in passing yards and third in touchdowns. - Wingate Football

The 2018 SAC Offensive Freshman of the Year ranks fourth in the league with 84.8 rushing yards per game and nine touchdowns. The sophomore has 23 touchdowns in his first two seasons at Wingate. The junior leads the conference with 15 made field goals on 20 attempts, adding 45 extra points. Robertson has connected on seven field goals of at least 40 yards this season, going seven-for-eight on field goals between 40 and 49 yards. The senior was an All-American return specialist in the 2017 season. Muckelvene ranks sixth in the SAC with 60.3 receiving yards per game, while ranking second with eight touchdowns. He is averaging 18.7 yards per catch on the year. Muckelvene had 89 receiving yards each of the first two games this season, while going for 104 yards and two scores against UNCP. Muckelvene piled up seven catches for 106 yards and a TD at Lenoir-Rhyne. He had seven grabs for 115 yards and a score at Mars Hill. He has 44 touchdowns in his first two seasons at Wingate. Crocker is averaging 15.3 yards per completion, ranking 12th nationally, while ranking 20th in the nation in pass efficiency. He opened the year with 296 yards and three TDs at JC Smith on 18-of-20 passing. Crocker had three TD passes against UVA-Wise.   SEPT 23 SOUTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCE SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: McLean Robertson, Wingate,...Robertson, a junior from Lexington, S.C., scored 12 points for the No. 19 Bulldogs in their 30-28 win over Carson-Nemwan last week. He connected on three field goals, including a 43-yard game winner in the fourth quarter. He was also a perfect 3-for-3 on PATs.
