Arguably the most coveted player on the market is FCS All-American linebacker Diamonte Tucker-Dorsey, who wrapped up visits to Texas and UCF in the last week. Texas A&M, Auburn, Ole Miss and others also offered the senior a chance to play at a higher level this season. In the end, the University of Texas won the sweepstakes. "This is my life I'm playing with," Tucker-Dorsey told Sports Illustrated late Thursday. "I've got six months left to play college football to see if I'm going to be able to get that chance at the next opportunity. So I'm gonna make sure I check off all the boxes to find the perfect situation for me. The 5'10", 214-pound redshirt junior, who registered 116 tackles (including 9 tackles for loss), 2.5 sacks and four interceptions for James Madison in 2021, let Steve Sarkisian's staff know of his commitment decision before he left campus midweek. - Sports Illustrated

  05/24/22 - Tarique MiltonrSr/2023, Texas, 5-11, 199 (DS#211 WR) + More +

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian added another top player on Monday, with Iowa State wide receiver Tarique Milton announcing he would be playing for the Longhorns next season. Milton revealed his destination via Twitter on Monday afternoon, releasing a statement. He has been in the transfer portal since the 2021 season ended, waiting until spring practices were over to make a decision. Staying within the Big 12, Milton will be heading down to Austin for his final year. "I'd like to thank all of the college programs and coaches who have reached out to me during my time in the portal," Milton said.

Milton spent five seasons with Iowa State, originally being a member of the 2017 recruiting class. Once he was on campus in Ames, the wide receiver took a redshirt year. Add in the COVID-19 eligibility rule and Milton is able to play a sixth year of college football. During his redshirt sophomore campaign, Milton caught 35 passes for 722 yards and three touchdowns. The thought was that Milton would breakout and become one of the best wide receivers in the conference. However, he has not been able to put up similar numbers ever since. Milton had just 30 catches for 380 yards and three touchdowns over his last two years. - Tarique Miltons twitter and online sources

  05/22/22 - Jermayne LolerSr/2025, Texas, 6-2, 315 (DS#999 DT) + More +

You'll be hard pressed to find a college football coach who will turn down the addition of a 300-pound defensive lineman with Division I experience, especially when said player had more solo tackles during the COVID-shortened 2020 season than most returning members of a team's defensive line amassed during a full 2021 campaign. In short: Welcome to Louisville, Jermayne Lole. The 6-foot-2, 305-pound Arizona State transfer announced his commitment to the Cardinals on Friday, just a week after the redshirt senior's official visit to the 502.

Lole's quick turnaround in announcing his commitment speaks volumes of his time with Scott Satterfield and members of the Cardinals' staff, during which he tweeted, "It's different different out here." The former Sun Devil was scheduled to visit Florida on Friday, Texas Tech on May 27 and Oregon on June 3. What did Jermayne Lole do at Arizona State? A three-star prospect out of high school, Lole entered the transfer portal in late April after three seasons with Arizona State. - Courier Journal

Diamonte Tucker-Dorsey grew up dreaming of playing on college football's highest level, but out of high school he didn't garner enough interest. After playing four seasons at James Madison, appearing in the past 38 consecutive games and making 22 starts at linebacker in the process, Tucker-Dorsey said he entered his name in the transfer portal searching to accomplish his childhood dream. "I feel like I'm a good player and I just wanted to be on a bigger stage," Tucker-Dorsey told the Daily News-Record. "Going into the FBS transition, not being able to win anything had something to do with it. The biggest thing was getting more exposure, playing on a bigger stage and showcasing my talent." Tucker-Dorsey starred on defense this past fall with the Dukes, leading the team with 116 tackles, adding nine tackles for a loss, 2.5 sacks, a pair of forced fumbles and four interceptions.

It wasn't an easy decision for the Norfolk native, he said. Tucker-Dorsey called himself a "JMU guy" and said this wasn't something he saw coming a few years ago. "I've been thinking about it for a while," Tucker-Dorsey said. "It definitely wasn't something that just popped into my head. It's been on my mind for a while." Since entering the portal on Tuesday evening, Tucker-Dorsey has heard from a number of major college football programs. The 5-foot-10, 214 pound linebacker has received offers from Auburn, Texas, Texas A&M, UCF and Ole Miss during his short time in the portal. - Daily News-Record

James Madison redshirt senior linebacker Diamonte Tucker-Dorsey has entered his name in the transfer portal, he announced via Twitter on Tuesday evening. Tucker-Dorsey, who was a leader on the defense for the Dukes this past spring, is in the portal as a graduate transfer with one year of eligibility remaining. "JMU nation, I love you!" Tucker-Dorsey wrote in the post. "I will never forget the memories, the highs, the lows, the lessons and the people I have met here. James Madison University is a special place and I was blessed to be a part of it." Tucker-Dorsey started all 14 games last season, logging a team-high 116 tackles with nine tackles for a loss, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and four interceptions.   05/17/22 - Cole BrevardrSr/2026, Texas, 6-3, 343 (DS#39 DT) + More +

Purdue added more depth to the defensive line Monday when Penn State transfer Cole Brevard committed to the Boilermakers. Brevard was with the Nittany Lions' program for two seasons, redshirting in 2020 and appearing in one game in 2021. Brevard was a three-year letterman and two-time team captain at Carmel. Brevard picked Penn State over offers from Clemson, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Ohio State, among others. He entered the transfer portal in late April.

Although the Boilermakers lost end George Karlaftis to the NFL Draft, a solid group of frontline players, including Branson Deen and Lawrence Johnson at the tackle positions, return. Damarjhe Lewis and Prince Boyd gained experience last season that should carry over into next season. "I think we can be deeper than we were last year," defensive line coach Mark Hagen said during spring practice. The 6-foot-3, 317-pound Brevard adds to the options on the defensive line. - Journal and Courier

  05/13/22 - Joshua MoorerSr/2023, Texas, 6-1, 168 (DS#999 WR) + More +

Former Texas Longhorns wide receiver Joshua Moore will not enroll at SMU, as previously expected, according to Dallas Morning News reporter Joseph Hoyt. "Been hinting at it in some previous stories, but multiple sources indicate former Texas WR Joshua Moore is not expected to come to SMU," Hoyt tweeted. "Helps explain why SMU added two transfer WRs this week in former Texas WR Kelvontay Dixon and former Miss. State WR Teddy Knox."

The Yoakum, Texas, native originally committed to Texas Tech, then changed his mind and announced he would play for new Mustangs head coach Rhett Lashlee. Moore came into the 2021 season as the leading returning receiver for Texas and was waiting to explode under new head coach Steve Sarkisian. He was able to haul in 24 catches for 265 receiving yards and three touchdown catches on the year. Moore was a top 100 recruit coming out of high school, being ranked the No. 96 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus. He was the No. 16 player at the wide receiver position and No. 9 within the state of Texas. - Dallas Morning News

  05/06/22 - *Bijan RobinsonJr/2023, Texas, 5-11, 215 (DS#1 RB) + More +

Poised for a 2022 standout season: Quarterback will drive the narrative for the Longhorns, but junior running back Bijan Robinson will drive the offense. He was one of the top backs in the country in 2021 before his season was cut short by a dislocated elbow in a loss to Kansas. Robinson had 1,422 yards from scrimmage and 16 TDs last season and will likely be mentioned in some early Heisman Trophy conversations. He's also bulked up to 220 pounds heading into what will likely be his final college season. Robinson will run behind a young and inexperienced offensive line. - AP College Football

  12/14/21 - Ryan WattsSr/2024, Texas, 6-3, 208 (DS#12 FS) + More +

Ohio State football already had a shortage of experienced defensive backs, and it has one fewer after redshirt freshman Ryan Watts entered the transfer portal on Friday. Bucknuts first reported the departure, which is OSU's fourth outgoing transfer since the end of the regular season. For Watts, the big, talented defensive back faced an uncertain role heading into 2022. "I will always continue to push and challenge myself to achieve my goals, even if that means leaving a good thing," Watts wrote in a Twitter post announcing his decision. The 6-3, 205-pound Watts, who redshirted in 2020, played 49 snaps in a season-opening victory over Minnesota. He was pressed into extensive action that night by the absence of veterans Cam Brown and Sevyn Banks. - Cleveland Plain Dealer

  12/12/21 - Quinn EwersrJr/2025, Texas, 6-2, 214 (DS#4 QB) + More +

Former five-star recruit Quinn Ewers, who skipped his senior year of high school to enroll at Ohio State in the hopes of cashing in on endorsement deals, has committed to transfer to Texas. A person familiar with Ewers' decision told The Associated Press on Sunday the quarterback had informed Texas coaches he would return to his home state and play for the school he originally committed to before his junior year at Southlake Carroll High School, outside Dallas. The person spoke on condition on anonymity because NCAA rules prohibited Texas from immediately announcing Ewers' decision. Texas coach Steve Sarkisian tweeted his "All Gas, No Brakes" slogan 10 minutes before Ewers' post. The Longhorns went 5-7 this season, their first under Sarkisian. Ewers announced Dec. 3 he was entering the transfer portal. Yahoo! Sports first reported Ewers had decided to transfer to Texas. - AP College Football

  11/26/21 - Roschon JohnsonSr/2023, Texas, 6-0, 225 (DS#9 RB) + More +

Junior Roschon Johnson ran for a career-best 179 yards, Cameron Dicker kicked three field goals, and Texas summoned some uncommonly strong defense to beat Kansas State 22-17 Friday afternoon. Texas (5-7, 3-6 Big 12) ended the regular season by snapping a six-game losing streak, its longest since 1956. Johnson, who arrived at Texas as a quarterback but quickly converted to running back, started in place of Bijan Robinson, who rushed for 1,127 yards this season but missed the last two games with a dislocated elbow. Johnson carried 31 times. He ran for a 9-yard touchdown in the first quarter.

Texas which has performed poorly defending the run this season, stopped star running back Deuce Vaughn on third and one at the Longhorn 17 and backup quarterback Will Howard on fourth down with 4:03 remaining. Kansas State (7-5, 4-5) played without starting quarterback Skylar Thompson, who suffered an ankle injury last week against Baylor. Howard, his replacement, ran for a 71-yard touchdown, untouched by a defender, in the second quarter. But Howard completed just nine of 13 passes for 65 yards. - Texas/AP College Football
