The Tennessee football team is officially losing another veteran defensive option. Defensive back Shawn Shamburger announced on Tuesday that he would be entering the NCAA transfer portal. He will have one year of eligibility left. This is Shamburger's second time entering the transfer portal. After announcing he was in the transfer portal Dec. 12, he withdrew his name the next day. Shamburger was not listed on Tennessee's spring roster, and he did not practice with the team. He only played in three games in 2020, missing a large chunk of the season due to academic problems. He started 12 games in 2019 and ranked fifth on the team in tackles 47, 4.5 of which were for a loss. He also had two quarterback hurries, an interception and two pass breakups. - Knoxville News Sentinel
