  02/18/20 - Yasir DurantSr/2020, Missouri, 6-6, 331 (DS#19 OT) + More +

2020 NFL COMBINE INVITE: Yasir Durant, OT, Missouri,...Durant was a three-year starter at left tackle for the Tigers, where he made 34 starts from 2017-19. Mizzou went a combined 20-14 in those starts, and the Tiger offensive line was among the nation's best in both 2017 and 2018, paving the way for record-setting offenses. Mizzou led the nation in 2017 in fewest tackles for loss allowed and ranked sixth nationally (first in the SEC) in the same category in 2018. As a junior in 2018, Durant was part of a line that helped the Tigers produce one of the most balanced offensive attacks in the nation. That season, Mizzou was one of only three Power 5 offenses to throw for at least 279 yards per game, while rushing for at least 200 yards per game. - Missouri Football

  12/09/19 - *Nick BoltonJr/2021, Missouri, 5-11, 237 (DS#2 ILB) + More +

Missouri reached an agreement Sunday with Eliah Drinkwitz to take over the Tigers' once-proud football program, a person with knowledge of the hiring told The Associated Press, making Appalachian State's successful coach the second-youngest in a Power Five conference. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the contract was still being drawn up and the school had not made an announcement. Drinkwitz was also being pursued by SEC rival Arkansas for its head-coaching vacancy.

Tigers athletic director Jim Sterk said he wanted to move swiftly in hiring a replacement for Barry Odom, the former player and assistant coach who went 25-25 in four seasons leading the program. Odom was fired after the Tigers finished an underwhelming 6-6, which would have been good enough for a bowl berth had the school not been slapped with a postseason ban by the NCAA following an incident involving a rogue tutor. - AP College Football

Missouri Tigers offensive lineman Trystan Colon-Castillo is leaving college early for the NFL Draft, announcing his decision on Twitter on Tuesday. Colon-Castillo is the third Mizzou player this year who'll declare early for the draft, joining defensive tackle Jordan Elliott and tight end Albert Okwuegbunam. All three players had one year of eligibility remaining. A 6-foot-4 center from Webb City, Colon-Castillo was a 2017 SEC All-Freshman team member. He started at center his last 38 games since he took over the starting job as a freshman. - The Kansas City Star

  12/02/19 - *Albert OkwuegbunamrJr/2020, Missouri, 6-5, 258 (DS#4 TE) + More +

Missouri Tigers tight end Albert Okwuegbunam is headed to the NFL, forgoing his final year of eligibility, he announced on Twitter on Monday. He joins defensive tackle Jordan Elliott as the second Mizzou player who plans to declare early for the NFL Draft. Okwuegbunam, a preseason All-American, broke out during the 2017 season when he caught 11 touchdown passes. A shoulder injury against Florida last season knocked him out for the year, potentially keeping him from leaving for the draft earlier. The 6-foot-5 tight end finished with 26 catches for 306 yards and six touchdowns in 2019. He had a strong start to the season, but struggled down the stretch, much like the Mizzou offense. He also dealt with a shoulder injury that kept him out of the Tennessee game. - The Kansas City Star

  12/01/19 - *Jordan ElliottrJr/2020, Missouri, 6-4, 302 (DS#7 DT) + More +

Defensive tackle Jordan Elliott isn't waiting around to see whom Missouri hires as its next football coach. The junior announced Sunday he's making himself available for the NFL draft and won't return to MU for his final season of eligibility. "It has been an amazing three years at Missouri," Elliott posted on Twitter. "I want to thank God for teammates for pushing me and continuously holding me accountable, Coach (Barry) Odom, Coach (Brick) Haley and the staff for molding me and teaching me lessons that I will take with me for the rest of my life. Thank you all for helping me grow as a man and as a player. I am ready for the next chapter in my life and will be declaring for the NFL Draft, foregoing my final season of eligibility."

Elliott, who transferred to Missouri from the University of Texas, is coming off a strong junior season worthy of All-Southeastern Conference honors. The co-captain led the Tigers with 8 1/2 tackles for loss and finished with 44 tackles overall, 2 1/2 sacks, plus six hurries and three pass breakups. - St. Louis Post-Dispatch

  11/30/19 - Yasir DurantSr/2020, Missouri, 6-6, 331 (DS#19 OT) + More +

Missouri fired football coach Barry Odom on Saturday, ending the four-year stay of a respected former player who took over a program in disarray but could never get the Tigers over the hump in the brutal SEC. The Tigers finished 6-6 and 3-5 in the conference after beating Arkansas on Friday. That left Odom with a 25-25 record, a perfectly middling mark after Gary Pinkel's successful run. Athletic director Jim Sterk called the dismissal a "difficult" but "necessary" move. "He and his staff have worked diligently during the past four years," Sterk said in a statement. "Coach Odom has represented our program with integrity and dedicated himself to developing our student-athletes on and off the football field for which we are grateful."

Sterk was expected to speak later in the day at Mizzou Arena. The Tigers were projected to contend for the top of the SEC East this season with the return of several key players and the arrival of high-profile Clemson transfer Kelly Bryant at quarterback. But the season began with a bumbling loss to Wyoming and never really got on track, and the Tigers were forced to beat Arkansas just to become bowl-eligible. Not that winning six games mattered. This past week, the school lost its appeal of NCAA penalties stemming from an incident involving a rogue tutor. That decision left in place postseason bans, recruiting and scholarship restrictions levied against the football, baseball and softball programs. - AP College Football

Jack Abraham threw for 290 yards and two touchdowns, De'Michael Harris had 121 yards rushing and two TDs, and Southern Miss beat UTSA 36-17 on Saturday night. Abraham was 22-of-34 passing with one interception. Quez Watkins had seven receptions for 137 yards and Tim Jones had 97 yards receiving and a score on eight catches for the Golden Eagles (7-4, 5-1 Conference USA). Harris took a handoff and raced up the middle for a 56-yard touchdown to give Southern Miss a 16-10 lead with 1:55 left in the first half. On the first possession of the second half, Watkins caught a short pass, split a pair of defenders and went untouched for a 77-yard TD catch.

Lowell Narcisse connected with Carlos Strickland II for a 51-yard touchdown to cut UTSA's deficit to 23-17 with 4:57 left in the third quarter but Harris answered with a 33-yard scoring run less than two minutes later and Kevin Perkins scored on a 39-yard run to make it 36-17 with 4:45 left in the game.
