  12/20/25 - Malachi ToneyFr/2029, Miami, 5-10, 188 (DS#2 WR) + More +

Malachi Toney's tiebreaking 11-yard touchdown reception with less than two minutes left lifted No. 10 seed Miami to a 10-3 victory over No. 7 Texas A&M on Saturday in the College Football Playoff. Mark Fletcher Jr. had a career-high 172 yards rushing to help the Hurricanes (11-2) advance to the Cotton Bowl to face No. 2 seed Ohio State on Dec. 31. Toney's big play came a series after what looked a devastating mistake for the freshman. Toney made a reception, but Dalton Brooks knocked the ball out and Daymion Sanford recovered it on the Texas A&M 47 with about seven minutes to go. Teammates surrounded a visibly upset Toney on the bench, encouraging him and trying to keep him positive.

He and Miami's offense got another chance when Rueben Bain Jr. sacked Marcel Reed on two of three plays on the ensuing drive to force a punt. A career-long 56-yard run by Fletcher on the first play of the next drive got the Hurricanes to the Texas A&M 30 with about three minutes to go. Miami used four more runs by Fletcher to get into scoring position before Toney took the short toss from Carson Beck and dashed into the end zone. The Aggies had a chance to tie it after that but Bryce Fitzgerald intercepted Reed for the second time - this time in the end zone - to end it. - Miami/AP College Football

  12/02/25 - Francis MauigoaJr/2027, Miami, 6-6, 335 (DS#1 OT) + More +

2025 ACC JACOBS BLOCKING TROPHY WINNER: Miami offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa has been voted the winner of the 2025 Jacobs Blocking Trophy, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced on Monday. Mauigoa is the first Miami Hurricane to receive the ACC Jacobs Blocking Trophy. The Jacobs Blocking Trophy has been awarded annually since 1953 to the player selected most outstanding blocker in the ACC by a poll of the league's head coaches and defensive coordinators. The trophy is given in memory of William P. Jacobs, who served as president of Presbyterian College from 1935 to 1945. Mauigoa, a 6-6, 335-pound junior from Ili'ili, American Samoa, has played and started in every game for the Hurricanes at right tackle for each of the last three years, earning All-ACC recognition in both 2023 and 2024, and Freshman All-America honors in 2023.

Mauigoa has been one of Miami's highest-graded offensive linemen, starting all 38 games at right tackle since arriving in 2023. His 85.9 overall grade from Pro Football Focus ranks sixth among all offensive tackles nationally, while his 88.8 pass-blocking grade is the third best in college football. A projected first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, Mauigoa anchors an offensive line that ranks eighth nationally in sacks allowed (0.92) and sixth in tackles-for-loss allowed (3.50). He was also named to the Joe Moore Award midseason honor roll recognizing the nation's top offensive line units. He was also named both an ACC Offensive Lineman and Outland Trophy National Player of the Week this season and was on several preseason watch lists, including the Outland Trophy and the Wuerffel Trophy. - ACC Football

  11/29/25 - Carson BeckrSr/2026, Miami, 6-4, 225 (DS#2 QB) + More +

Carson Beck passed for 267 yards with three touchdowns and an interception as No. 13 Miami beat No. 24 Pittsburgh 38-7 on Saturday to keep its slim hopes for a spot in the ACC title game alive, at least for a few hours. The Hurricanes (10-2, 6-2 ACC) need several other outcomes across the league to go their way later Saturday to earn a spot in the conference championship next week in Charlotte. The more long-range - and far more pressing - matter for Miami is whether it has done enough to earn one of the at-large berths in the College Football Playoff. The Hurricanes ripped off four straight wins by an average of 27.5 points to close the regular season. Miami's resume also includes a victory over No. 6 Notre Dame in the season opener. A lot has happened over the last three months, though the Hurricanes hope their play down the stretch puts them back in the position they thought they'd be to start the season: in the mix to play for a national title.

Beck connected on 23 of 29 passes to finish the regular season with a 74.7% completion percentage, tops in the FBS and a new program record. The Georgia transfer added an exclamation point at the end, a 33-yard heave to CJ Daniels in the final minute with victory well in hand in hopes of adding some style points against a team ranked No. 22 in this week's CFP rankings. Malachi Toney caught 13 passes for 126 yards and added a 9-yard lob to Elija Lofton for a score in the second quarter that gave the Hurricanes a lead they never came close to squandering. Pitt (8-4, 6-2) came in with its own hopes of reaching the ACC championship. They evaporated in the late November chill as Miami hounded Panthers freshman quarterback Mason Heintschel and wore Pitt's defense down in the second half. Heintschel, whose promotion to starter in early October coincided with the start of Pitt's six-game ACC winning streak, was sacked on the game's first play, and the Hurricanes never really let up. He shook off a leg injury late in the first half to return for the second but completed just 22 of 32 for 199 yards with a touchdown and an interception. - Miami/AP College Football

  11/22/25 - Carson BeckrSr/2026, Miami, 6-4, 225 (DS#2 QB) + More +

Carson Beck threw for 320 yards and four touchdowns to lead No. 14 Miami to a 34-17 victory over Virginia Tech on Saturday. Malachi Toney had career highs in receptions (12) and yards (146) and had a touchdown, lifting the Hurricanes (9-2, 5-2 ACC, No. 13 CFP) to their third straight win and keeping alive their hopes of making it to the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game. Beck, who completed his first 11 passes and finished 27 of 32, threw touchdown passes of 20 yards to Elija Lofton and 3 yards to Mark Fletcher in the first half, and Carter Davis added two field goals, as Miami scored on all four first-half possessions to take a 20-3 halftime lead.

Virginia Tech (3-8, 2-5) cut the lead to 20-10 on a 38-yard touchdown run by Jeffrey Overton on its first possession of the second half, but Miami answered with a 16-yard TD pass from Beck to Girard Pringle Jr. nearly seven minutes later. Beck added a 20-yard touchdown pass to Toney in the final minute for the Hurricanes, who finished with 418 yards. Marcellous Hawkins finished with 72 yards on eight carries for the Hokies, who had 194 yards rushing against the ACC's No. 1 rushing defense (81.8 ypg) and lost their third straight game. - Miami/AP College Football

  11/15/25 - Carson BeckrSr/2026, Miami, 6-4, 225 (DS#2 QB) + More +

Carson Beck passed for 291 yards and three touchdowns, two of them to Malachi Toney, and No. 16 Miami - looking to climb in the College Football Playoff rankings - rolled past N.C. State 41-7 on Saturday. Beck completed his final 13 throws to cap off a 21-for-27 day for the Hurricanes (8-2, 4-2 Atlantic Coast Conference). Miami now has five wins by at least 25 points this season, the most in a single year by the Hurricanes since the 2002 team had six such victories.

Jakobe Thomas picked off two passes in the first quarter, running one of them back for a touchdown for Miami. And Girard Pringle Jr. more than doubled his season rushing total for the Hurricanes; he ran for 116 yards on Saturday, one more than he had in his first four games of the year. Miami took a 41-0 lead before substituting liberally in the fourth quarter on Senior Day, the last regular-season home game for the Hurricanes. Miami outgained N.C. State 581-149. CJ Bailey completed 17 of 30 passes for 120 yards for N.C. State (5-5, 2-4). The Wolfpack - with Miami playing reserves on defense at the time - got on the scoreboard on a rushing touchdown from Bailey with 2:18 left. That extended N.C. State's streak of not getting shut out to 144 games; its last time being blanked was Oct. 4, 2014. Miami was 15th in this week's CFP ranking, the highest of any ACC team. - Miami/AP College Football

Quarterback Carson Beck caught a touchdown pass. Offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa turned a backward pass into a rushing score. And Miami went deep into the depth chart to overcome some injuries. The first step of getting back into the College Football Playoff chase is complete for the Hurricanes. Beck eclipsed the 10,000-yard passing mark for his college career, Miami's defense recorded six sacks and the 18th-ranked Hurricanes used some tricks to roll to a 38-10 win over Syracuse on Saturday. "When Miami's on, Miami really distinguishes itself as one of the better teams," Hurricanes coach Mario Cristobal said. The Hurricanes weren't on through their first four drives. After that, they rolled.

Mauigoa's catch of a backward pass finished off what went into the books as a 3-yard rushing touchdown - "it's a play we've been practicing for two, three years now," Mauigoa said after his first touchdown since he was a little kid playing in American Samoa - while Keionte Scott had an interception return touchdown for the Hurricanes (7-2, 3-2 Atlantic Coast Conference). Keelan Marion had 116 receiving yards and Girard Pringle Jr. had a touchdown run for Miami. The Hurricanes punted on each of their first four drives - then scored on each of their next four possessions, with the exception of a kneel-down to end the first half. Miami had no points on its first 22 plays, 24 points on its next 22. "We had lot of self-inflicted wounds," Syracuse coach Fran Brown said. "I think they're a really good football team." Elijah Washington-Baker had a 17-yard touchdown catch with 21 seconds left and Rickie Collins completed 12 of 25 passes for 85 yards for Syracuse (3-7, 1-6), which gave up six sacks and has dropped six straight. It's the longest losing streak for the Orange since an eight-game slide in 2020. Beck finished 18 of 24 passing for 247 yards and a score. He opened the scoring with a 14-yard touchdown catch on a pass from receiver Malachi Toney with 2:13 left in the first half, and the Hurricanes were very different from there. - Miami/AP College Football

  10/25/25 - Mark Fletcher Jr.Jr/2027, Miami, 6-1, 225 (DS#2 RB) + More +

The first half was shaky. The second half was all Miami. Mark Fletcher Jr. rushed for 106 yards and a career-high three touchdowns, Miami's defense was airtight for much of the game and the ninth-ranked Hurricanes pulled away for a 42-7 win over Stanford on Saturday night. Carson Beck - coming off the first four-interception game of his career in last week's loss to Louisville - completed 21 of 28 passes for 189 yards and a touchdown to CJ Daniels for Miami (6-1, 2-1 Atlantic Coast Conference), while Jordan Lyle and Girard Pringle Jr. also ran for touchdowns. It was Miami's biggest victory margin in an ACC game since beating Duke 47-10 on Nov. 27, 2021. "Mark Fletcher showed why he's such a great player and why he's so important to this football team." Miami coach Mario Cristobal said. Miami had touchdowns on six of its last seven possessions; the one drive where it didn't score in that span saw the Hurricanes stopped on a fourth-down try at the Stanford 21. "Proud of the way our guys stuck with it," Cristobal said.

Malachi Toney had 138 all-purpose yards, 73 of them coming on a pair of punt returns for the Hurricanes. Miami passed for 205 yards and rushed for 199, outgaining Stanford 404-144. "That right there was the standard for University of Miami football," Toney said. Cole Tabb rushed for 64 yards for Stanford (3-5, 2-3) in the first-ever meeting between the Hurricanes and the Cardinal. Ben Gulbranson threw for Stanford's lone touchdown and completed five of his first six passes for 31 yards; he was 4-for-15 with two interceptions and only 19 yards the rest of the way. Stanford led 7-0 after one quarter and it was 7-7 at the half. The rest was all Miami, in a reversal of the game that Stanford interim coach Frank Reich - then the Maryland quarterback - had against the Hurricanes in 1984, when he rallied his team out of a 31-0 halftime hole and won 42-40. This time, the Hurricanes outscored the Cardinal 35-0 in the final 30 minutes. Stanford racked up 74 yards on its first drive - capped by a TD - then managed only 25 total yards on its next eight possessions combined. "I thought our defense did a pretty good job in the first half...and then they got after us real good in the second half," Reich said. - Miami/AP College Football
