  10/21/25 - Bryant Wesco Jr.So/2028, Clemson, 6-2, 190 (DS#5 WR) + More +

Clemson leading receiver Bryant Wesco Jr. will miss the rest of the season after sustaining a back injury against SMU this past weekend. Coach Dabo Swinney said Monday that Wesco had a "very serious" back injury but did not disclose more details. Wesco was injured on a punt return, when he landed almost directly on his head/neck area after a low tackle sent him somersaulting in the air upside down. Though he got up and walked to the sideline on his own, he never returned to the field and was taken to the hospital in Greenville, South Carolina, for further evaluation. Swinney said Wesco was released from the hospital Monday and was resting at home, and that the injury could have been far worse. "It was a very, very scary injury, and the doctors did an amazing job," Swinney said in a teleconference with local reporters. "The doctors are very confident he'll make a full recovery. Definitely something that'll keep him out the rest of this season, but thankful that all indications are he's going to be OK. Just a real blessing for that." Wesco leads Clemson with 31 catches for 537 yards and six touchdowns. He thanked those who sent him prayers on his Instagram stories Monday. - ESPN College Football

  10/18/25 - Bryant Wesco Jr.So/2028, Clemson, 6-2, 190 (DS#5 WR) + More +

Clemson wide receiver Bryant Wesco Jr. was hospitalized after landing awkwardly on his neck after getting flipped in the air on a punt return in the third quarter of Saturday in a 35-24 loss to SMU. Clemson coach Dabo Swinney described the injury as "serious," but did not elaborate on Wesco's condition. Swinney later asked at his news conference that fans keep Wesco in their prayers, reiterating the serious nature of the injury. The crowd drew a collective gasp when Wesco raced up the middle of the field after fielding a punt and was hit low, causing him to flip high in the air and land on his neck. The neck bent awkwardly as he hit the ground. However, Wesco bounced right up and appeared fine as he jogged to the sideline without receiving any medical attention on the field. Wesco was looked at on the sideline by trainers. He did not return to the game. It wasn't made public that he had been transported to the hospital until Swinney made the announcement after the game. Bryant had 31 catches for 537 yards and six touchdowns coming into the game, but did not have a catch Saturday. - AP College Football

  10/11/25 - Cade KlubnikSr/2026, Clemson, 6-2, 210 (DS#6 QB) + More +

Cade Klubnik threw for a touchdown and ran for another when Clemson opened a big first-half lead before leaving with an injury late in the third quarter, and the Tigers beat struggling Boston College 41-10 on Saturday night. Klubnik completed 22 of 30 passes for 280 yards with an interception for the Tigers (3-3, 2-2 Atlantic Coast Conference). He went to the tent after taking a hard hit on a run and remained there for a while before exiting a few minutes into the fourth. Adam Randall and Peter Woods (defensive-tackle-turned-running-back for the play) each had a short scoring run for Clemson, which beat BC for the 13th consecutive time.

Dylan Lonergan went 12 of 19 for 117 yards for BC (1-5, 0-4). The Eagles have lost five straight. Scoring on all six of their first-half drives, the Tigers opened a 34-10 edge at halftime. Clemson had moved ahead 24-10 on Klubnik's 6-yard TD run around the right end, but the Eagles drove to the Tigers' 30 before linebacker Sammy Brown came around the right edge, forcing Lonergan's fumble that teammate T.J. Parker recovered. Three pays later, Klubnik hit Bryant Wesco in the left corner of the end zone for a 38-yard score that made it 31-10. - Clemson/AP College Football

  10/04/25 - Antonio WilliamsrJr/2027, Clemson, 5-11, 190 (DS#9 WR) + More +

Antonio Williams threw a 75-yard trick-play touchdown pass to T.J. Moore on the first offensive snap to start Clemson's dominating show in a 38-10 win at North Carolina on Saturday. The coaching matchup of Clemson's Dabo Swinney and North Carolina's Bill Belichick became a romp by the Tigers (2-3, 1-2 Atlantic Coast Conference), who quickly overwhelmed the Tar Heels (2-3, 0-1) then cruised through the second half.

Clemson scored 28 points while averaging 15.8 yards per play in the opening quarter. Cade Klubnik threw four TD passes by halftime - two each to Adam Randall and Christian Bentancur - before giving way in the third to reserve Christopher Vizzina. Max Johnson threw for 213 yards in starting for the injured Gio Lopez for UNC, while Benjamin Hall ran for a fourth-quarter touchdown with the outcome long decided. The Tigers had largely driven most of the home fans to the Kenan Stadium exits by halftime with a 35-3 lead, another telling visual of how UNC's bet on hiring the 73-year-old Belichick as a first-time college coach has gone so far. - Clemson/AP College Football

Bryant Wesco Jr. caught two second-half touchdown passes from Cade Klubnik, Adam Randall ran for 112 yards and a score, and No. 8 Clemson survived a scare from Troy, overcoming a 16-point deficit to win 27-16 on Saturday. The Tigers (1-1), 31-point favorites according to BetMGM Sportsbook, trailed 16-0 midway through the second quarter and 16-3 at halftime, but outscored the Trojans (1-1) 24-0 after the break. Randall ran for a 1-yard TD to cap an eight-play, 75-yard drive to open the third quarter.

</p>Moments later, safety Ricardo Jones intercepted Goose Crowder, making an acrobatic grab off a pass breakup by teammate Ashton Hampton. On the next play, Klubnik connected with Wesco for a 26-yard touchdown to put Clemson ahead 17-16. Wesco added a 34-yard touchdown catch early in the fourth quarter. He finished with seven receptions for 118 yards, and Klubnik was 18 of 24 for 196 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Clemson, which fell four spots in the AP Top 25 after losing its opener to LSU, could drop again after this unimpressive performance. - Clemson/AP College Football

Clemson star wide receiver Antonio Williams headed to the locker room after limping off the field in the first quarter against No. 9 LSU on Saturday night. His status for the remainder of the game was unclear, but he did not return for the fourth-ranked Tigers' next possession. Williams, a second-team preseason Associated Press All-American, had two targets but no catches before heading the sideline and going straight to the medical tent. He was checked out and then proceeded to the locker room for more tests with the Tigers leading 3-0. Williams caught 75 passes for 904 yards and 11 touchdowns last season and was considered quarterback Cade Klubnik's best option. - AP College Football

WEEK 2 ACC CO-QUARTERBACK OF THE WEEK: Cade Klubnik, Clemson, QB, Austin, Texas,...Klubnik completed 24-of-26 passes for a career-high 378 yards and five touchdowns, while only playing in the first half against Appalachian State. He also added a pair of rushing touchdowns to finish as the only FBS quarterback in the last 25 years with five passing touchdowns, multiple rushing touchdowns, and a completion percentage of 90.0-percent or better in a game. Despite playing only one half, his 378 passing yards were tied for the 19th-most in a game in school history. It was the most by a Clemson quarterback since Trevor Lawrence's 400 passing yards against Ohio State to end the 2020 season. He became the first ACC quarterback to record at least four passing touchdowns and multiple rushing touchdowns in a single half since Louisville's Lamar Jackson in 2016, according to ESPN Stats & Info. Alongside McCord, Klubnik was also named a Manning Award Star of the Week. - ACC Football

  11/29/23 - Nate WigginsJr/2024, Clemson, 6-1, 173 (DS#3 CB) + More +

Clemson cornerback Nate Wiggins is declaring for the NFL draft. Tigers coach Dabo Swinney confirmed in a text message to The Associated Press on Wednesday night that the starting defensive back was heading to the next level and opting out of the team's upcoming bowl game. ESPN was first to report Wiggins' decision. Wiggins, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound junior from Atlanta, is projected as a first-round selection. Wiggins has shown that over and over again in his career. He was chosen for the all-Atlantic Coast Conference first team on Tuesday.

Wiggins was the defensive star in a 31-20 victory over North Carolina on Nov. 18 when he forced a fumble - chasing down Tar Heels tailback Omarion Hampton and stripping the ball just steps from the goal line - and had an interception on quarterback Drake Maye. When asked about catching Hampton, Wiggins responded, "I'm a fast guy." Wiggins finished his Clemson career with 60 tackles and three interceptions, two returned for touchdowns. Wiggins is Clemson's second All-ACC defender to leave for the NFL and opt out of the bowl game. Linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. announced his decision to turn pro Tuesday. - AP College Football

  11/28/23 - Jeremiah Trotter Jr.Jr/2024, Clemson, 6-0, 226 (DS#3 ILB) + More +

Clemson linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. is giving up his final year in college for the NFL. Trotter announced his decision Tuesday on social media, thanking his family along with Clemson coaches, teammates and fans in helping shape who he is. "After long thought and prayer, I am officially announcing that I am taking the next step in a lifelong dream and declaring for the 2024 NFL draft," he posted. Trotter is not expected to play in whatever bowl game the Tigers (8-4) take part in. His last act with Clemson was planting the team flag at midfield of rival South Carolina's stadium on Saturday night after the Tigers' 16-7 victory.

Trotter is a 6-foot, 230-pound linebacker from Hainesport, New Jersey. He led the Tigers this season with 87 tackles, 14 1/2 stops behind the line of scrimmage and two interceptions. He had a pick-six score in a 31-23 victory over then-No. 12 Notre Dame on Nov. 4. Trotter's father is longtime NFL linebacker Jeremiah Trotter, who played 11 seasons in the pros with Philadelphia, Washington and Tampa from 1998-2008. He started 124 of 147 games in his career. The younger Trotter was a second-team All-American a year ago. He is projected as a second-day, second-or third-round selection in next spring's draft. - AP College Football

  03/08/23 - Ruke OrhorhororSr/2024, Clemson, 6-4, 294 (DS#6 DT) + More +

Orange and white were still the primary jersey colors as Clemson football opened spring practice on March 6. But another color - yellow - was prominently featured. For the second spring in a row, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney's pre-practice press conference included a long rundown of players who will be limited participants in yellow jerseys. That includes defensive tackles Ruke Orhorhoro and Payton Page, who are recovering from shoulder injuries. Receivers Beaux Collins (shoulder) and Adam Randall (knee) are also on the mend, along with offensive lineman Walker Parks (ankle) and Marcus Tate (knee). "Definitely wish I had them out there, but they aren't gonna hand out any trophies this spring," Swinney said. "We'll be able to get done what we need to do foundationally as a team with the guys we have." - Charleston Post Courier

  03/07/23 - Peter WoodsJr/2027, Clemson, 6-3, 310 (DS#1 DT) + More +

Monday marked freshman defensive lineman Peter Woods' first career practice as a Tiger. He's easily the most-hyped recruit in Clemson's recruiting class of 2023 and finished his career at Thompson (Ala.) High School as the No. 33 prospect in the country. Freshman early enrollees T.J. Parker and Vic Burley also rank as top 10 defensive linemen in the class (Burley and Stephiylan Green, another freshman defensive lineman, practiced with Clemson at the Orange Bowl). Woods looks every bit of the 6-foot-2 and 300 pounds he's listed at and moved well in early drills. - The State

It was a quick and somewhat awkward transition from DJ Uiagalelei to Klubnik during the 2022 ACC title game. Days after the freshman took the reins in a clobbering of North Carolina, Uiagalelei was in the transfer portal and on his way to Oregon State. Bowl preparations were Klubnik's first run at being the leader of the offense, but last year's talk of a quarterback competition will stretch farther into the rearview mirror as spring and fall camps commence.

This is Klubnik's team, with transfer Paul Tyson and incoming freshman Christopher Vizzina very much expected to play supporting roles. "He's the full package," Riley said. "He's very skilled, he's very talented. But I just think between the ears, how he carries himself, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that's kind of the magic with Cade Klubnik." There are high hopes for Clemson's next era at quarterback. But what progress has Klubnik made physically since the fall? What's his comfort level with Riley's system? What steps has he taken as a leader? All eyes are on Klubnik now. - Charleston Post Courier
