Three of his sacks came on Akron's final drive in Miami's 20-17 win.   11/24/19 - *Michael Warren IIJr/2020, Cincinnati, 5-09, 226 (DS#18 RB) + More +

A blocked extra-point attempt turned into Cincinnati's decisive points. In a season full of close escapes, this one was the most unusual. And the most meaningful, too. The Bearcats' year of living dangerously has culminated in the American Athletic title game. Michael Warren II ran 13 yards for a touchdown on a cold, raw Saturday night, Coby Bryant went 98 yards with a blocked extra-point attempt and No. 17 Cincinnati held on for a 15-13 victory over Temple that clinched a spot in the league's championship game. The Bearcats (10-1, 7-0) secured the AAC East title and remained the only unbeaten team in league play. They would host the title game if they win next week at No. 18 Memphis (10-1, 6-1), which shares the AAC West lead.

Of course, it didn't come easy. With these 'Cats, it never does. "Well, I don't know where to start," coach Luke Fickell said. "Another one that some way, somehow, we found a way. We showed the resiliency to get it done and found a new way tonight." Temple (7-4, 4-3) had won four straight against Cincinnati with its dominant defense, but couldn't get enough out of its offense until too late on a windy, rainy night with temperatures in the 30s and snow falling in the closing minutes. Receivers from both teams had trouble catching the ball, leaving it to the running games and special teams to decide matters. Cincinnati got the better of it both ways. - Cincinnati/AP College Football

  11/19/19 - Desmond RidderrSr/2022, Cincinnati, 6-3, 213 (DS#3 QB) + More +

The American Athletic Conference approved an 11-team schedule for the 2020 and '21 football seasons that includes eight games per year and each school facing every other member at least once. The AAC announced its two-year plan for scheduling Monday. The conference recently gained NCAA approval to scrap its divisions after Connecticut leaves the league following this season to join the Big East and to still hold a championship game. The conference said exactly how championship game participants will be determined has not yet been decided. The new schedule model sticks with eight conference games, four home and four away. No two teams will go more than a year without playing each other. UConn is joining the Big East primarily for basketball. The Huskies' football program will continue to compete in FBS as an independent. - AP College Football

  11/17/19 - Desmond RidderrSr/2022, Cincinnati, 6-3, 213 (DS#3 QB) + More +

Sam Crosa kicked a 37-yarder field goal as time expired to give No. 17 Cincinnati a 20-17 victory over South Florida on Saturday night and at least a share of the American Athletic Conference East division title. The Bearcats (8-1, 6-0, No. 17 CFP) rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit to win for the eighth straight time, getting touchdown runs from Michael Warren and Gerrid Doaks before Desmond Ridder led an 11-play, 60-yard drive to win the game. USF's Spencer Shrader missed a 33-yard field goal that would have given the Bulls (4-6, 2-4) the lead with 2:07 remaining.

Ridder was just 9 of 18 passing for 78 yards, but he had a pair of big third-down completions on the winning march - the last a short flip to Warren, who rambled 30 yards to the USF 40. Warren ran for 11 yards on the play and finished with 134 yards rushing on 24 carries. Jordan McCloud threw for 267 yards and one touchdown for USF, which led 10-0 at halftime. The Bulls clung to a 17-10 advantage entering the fourth quarter, but couldn't put the Bearcats away. Cincinnati pulled even on Warren's 2-yard TD run with 14:26 to go, but wasted an opportunity to pull away from the 17-17 when a holding penalty nullified Doaks' 50-yard run to the USF 1. - Cincinnati/AP College Football

Desmond Ridder threw for a pair of touchdowns and Michael Warren II ran for two more scores during a dominant opening half, and Cincinnati remained the only unbeaten team in American Athletic play. The Bearcats (8-1, 5-0) retained the inside track for the conference title by ending their recent trend of slow starts. They led 38-0 at halftime against the conference's lowliest team. UConn (2-8, 0-6) had two players ejected while losing its 17th straight conference game. The Huskies have dropped 24 of their last 25 against FBS teams. They fell to 0-9 at Nippert Stadium. - Cincinnati/AP College Football
