  2019 SEC FOOTBALL SCHOLAR-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR: Georgia placekicker Rodrigo Blankenship has been named the SEC Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year by a vote of the league's head coaches. Blankenship graduated Cum Laude from Georgia in December 2018 with a degree in Digital and Broadcast Journalism. He is currently enrolled in a Journalism Master's program and has a 3.65 grade point average. Earlier this fall, Blankenship was named one of the 12 recipients of the National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete Award for his combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership. He has been a member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll and has also served on the SEC Football Leadership Council. A finalist for the Lou Groza Award, Blankenship is second in SEC history with 428 career points. He leads the SEC with 24 field goals made this season and was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week six times. - SEC Football
