Toner, 12 of 16 on field goals with a long of 51 yards this season, was injured on a kickoff during Stanford's loss to UCLA on Thursday. It appeared trainers were working on his left knee or ankle. The senior also connected on 13 consecutive PAT kicks and leads the Cardinal in scoring with 49 points. He has kicked 47 field goals and 101 successful PATs with Stanford. Freshman punter Ryan Sanborn will also assume kicking duties for the foreseeable future. "His handling of the punting and kicking duties was outstanding," Shaw said. The team also held open tryouts for Sanborn's backup. "We found some possibilities," said Shaw. Quarterbacks K.J. Costello (thumb) and Davis Mills (knee) remain questionable and it appears Jack West will get the start Saturday when Stanford (3-4, 2-3) hosts Arizona (4-3, 2-2) at 12:30 p.m. Saturday. - Palo Alto Online
