Oregon may not have a chance to prove whether it is the Big Ten's best next Saturday at the conference's championship game, but its latest showing was representative of the fifth-ranked Ducks potential. Malik Benson had a season-long 64-yard touchdown catch with 7:55 to go in regulation and Oregon beat Washington 26-14 on Saturday to all but cement a spot in the College Football Playoff. The wide receiver caught a pass from Dante Moore around midfield, split two Huskies defenders and raced to the end zone to give Oregon (11-1, 8-1 Big Ten, No. 6 CFP) a 26-14 lead. The Ducks have won in myriad ways in 2025, save a 30-20 loss to No. 2 Indiana on Oct. 11. They survived a driving rainstorm and Iowa's upset bid in an 18-16 win on Nov. 8, thanks to a 39-yard field goal by Atticus Sappington as time expired. On Saturday, Sappington was a hero again. He made a career-high four field goals, including one from a career-long 51 yards that increased Oregon's lead to 19-7. Sappington and Benson were hardly alone, though, in guiding the Ducks to their third straight season with 11 or more wins. Oregon was again on upset alert when Demond Williams Jr. threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Denzel Boston with 8:54 remaining in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit for Washington (8-4, 5-4) to 19-14.

But the Ducks responded quickly with Benson's catch-and-run and then turned Washington's offense over on downs before defensive back Dillon Thieneman intercepted Williams with 1:27 remainingr. It was one of two interceptions for coach Dan Lanning's defense, which limited Williams to a season-low 129 passing yards. The last two weeks, Moore completed 82% of his passes for 563 yards and four touchdowns with one interception. On Saturday, he completed 20 of 29 passes for 286 yards, as well as scored a one-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. The victory was Oregon's nation best 12th straight true road win under coach Dan Lanning, and second win overall in five years against the Huskies. Washington, which leads the series against Oregon 63-50-5, dropped its second home game of the season. Coach Jedd Fisch and the Huskies had their 22-game home winning streak broken by No. 1 Ohio State earlier this year. - Oregon/AP College Football

Oregon returned to the top five of The Associated Press Top 25 college football poll Sunday, while five ACC teams were ranked for the second time this season after Georgia Tech took the biggest fall following its second loss in three games. Ohio State, Indiana and Texas A&M remained the top three teams for a sixth straight week, and Georgia was No. 4 for the second week in a row. Oregon jumped over idle Ole Miss to No. 5 - its highest ranking since it was No. 3 in the Oct. 5 poll. The Ducks strengthened their College Football Playoff résume with a 15-point victory over then-No. 16 USC, extending their winning streak to five games. Ole Miss was followed by Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Notre Dame and Alabama.

Ohio State is No. 1 for a 13th straight week going into its game at No. 15 Michigan. The Buckeyes received 58 first-place votes and were 53 points ahead of Indiana, which was listed first on seven ballots. Texas A&M got the remaining first-place vote. Miami, which beat Virginia Tech by 17 points on the road, moved up a spot to No. 13 and was the highest-ranked ACC team. Virginia climbed two spots to No. 17. Georgia Tech, beaten 42-28 at home by Pittsburgh, dropped eight rungs to No. 23. Pittsburgh, which has three losses, was one spot behind the two-loss Yellow Jackets as the Panthers returned to the poll after a one-week absence. No. 25 SMU, which beat Louisville by 32 points for its third straight win, reentered the poll for the first time since Sept. 2. The Mustangs can return to the ACC championship game with a win at California. The ACC, in addition to this week, had five teams in the poll Nov. 9. That makes this the fourth straight year the ACC has had five teams ranked in two or more polls. No. 20 James Madison of the Sun Belt remained the highest-ranked Group of 5 team in the AP poll. The Dukes, up one spot from a week ago, came from behind to beat Washington State 24-20. - AP College Football

Dante Moore threw for 257 yards and two touchdowns as No. 6 Oregon likely dashed No. 16 Southern California's hopes of making the College Football Playoff with a 42-27 victory Saturday. Kenyon Sadiq had six catches for 72 yards and two scores, and Noah Whittington ran for 104 yards and another touchdown for the Ducks (10-1, 7-1 Big Ten, No. 7 CFP), who improved their chances of not only making the playoff but also hosting a game. Jayden Maiava threw for 306 yards and three touchdowns, including a pair to Makai Lemon, who also threw a touchdown pass for USC (8-3, 6-2, No. 15 CFP). USC hasn't won in Eugene since 2011 and the Trojans have lost four straight to the Ducks overall. Once again, the Trojans fell short on the road against a ranked opponent, with previous losses this season to Illinois and Notre Dame. USC scored on the first series of the game on Maiava's 8-yard pass to Lemon, who sprinted just inside the pylon for the touchdown. Lemon was ranked second in the nation with an average of 109 yards receiving per game coming in. The Ducks answered on the next drive with freshman Jordon Davison's 11-yard touchdown run, then extended the lead on Sadiq's 8-yard TD catch deep in the end zone.

USC tied it at 14 early in the second quarter when Maiava tossed the ball to Lemon, who hurled it downfield to Tanook Hines for a 24-yard touchdown. Lemon became the first Trojans receiver to throw a TD pass since Tyler Vaughns against Arizona State in 2018. Malik Benson ran 85 yards to score on a punt return to put Oregon back in front. Late in the first half, Atticus Sappington's 44-yard field-goal attempt for Oregon hit the goal post, but USC was flagged for a penalty on the play. The Ducks were given a first down, which led to Bryce Boettcher's 1-yard touchdown dive that put Oregon in front 28-14 at the break. The Trojans closed the gap midway through the third quarter on Maiava's 4-yard scoring pass to Lemon. But before the period was over, Moore connected with Sadiq again on a 28-yard touchdown. The Trojans, aided by a pair of back-to-back pass interference calls against the Ducks, got within 35-27 on Maiava's 9-yard touchdown pass to Lake McRee, but the 2-point conversion try failed. Oregon came back on the next drive with Whittington's 9-yard dash into the end zone that sealed it. - Oregon/AP College Football

Dante Moore threw for two touchdowns and freshman Jordon Davison ran for another pair to lead No. 7 Oregon to a 42-13 victory over Minnesota on Friday night. Moore was 27 of 30 for 306 yards for the Ducks (9-1, 6-1 Big Ten, No. 8 CFP). Davison ran for 57 yards on seven carries. Kenyon Sadiq caught eight passes for 96 yards and another score. Minnesota (6-4, 4-3) remained winless on the road this season. The Golden Gophers managed just 62 yards rushing against the Ducks, who went into the game ranked third in the nation in total defense. Oregon scored on its first series of the game. Moore completed a 23-yard pass to Sadiq to get the Ducks close, then they capped the drive with Davison's 1-yard touchdown run.

Sadiq returned after missing last weekend's 18-16 victory at Iowa, but Oregon was still without freshman receiver Dakorien Moore because of a knee injury. Oregon was also missing receiver Gary Bryant Jr., who injured his foot during the first quarter last weekend. The Ducks made it 14-0 on Davison's 39-yard touchdown run before Brady Denaburg's 46-yard field goal got Minnesota on the scoreboard early in the second quarter. Noah Whittington broke through a pile of of players then bobbled the ball in the end zone after a 40-yard dash, but it was ruled a touchdown after a review and Oregon went up 21-3. After Denaburg added a 26-yard field goal for the Gophers, Dante Moore hit Sadiq with a short 3-yard pass to put the Ducks up 28-6 at halftime. The Gophers scored on their first drive of the second half on Drake Lindsey's 10-yard scoring pass to Javon Tracy. Lindsey finished with 138 yards passing. Moore threw a 13-yard pass to Jeremiah McClellan, who was ruled on review to have a toe inbounds for the touchdown, to make it 35-13. The Ducks added another score on Jay Harris' 12-yard run early in the fourth quarter. Minnesota was coming off a bye. The Gophers' last outing was a 23-20 overtime win at home over Michigan State that made them bowl eligible. - Oregon/AP College Football

  11/08/25 - Atticus SappingtonrSr/2026, Oregon, 5-10, 190 (DS#7 K) + More +

Atticus Sappington kicked a 39-yard field goal with 3 seconds left, and No. 6 Oregon escaped with an 18-16 win over Iowa on a rainy Saturday. Dante Moore led a 10-play, 54-yard drive to set up Sappington's third field goal of the game, connecting with Malik Benson for a 24-yard gain to get the Ducks (8-1, 5-1 Big Ten, No. 9 CFP) into range for the winning kick. "That moment was made for me," Sappington said. "I truly believe that." It was the third field goal of the game for Sappington on the slick field. He kicked a 46-yarder at the end of the first half that gave Oregon a 12-7 halftime lead, and a 44-yarder late in the third quarter that increased the Ducks' lead to 15-7. "When you have two pretty big-time field goals to change the game early on, obviously your confidence is high," Sappington said.

"For me, it was just like, focus on the kick. Breathe." Running back Noah Whittington said he was praying before Sappington's kick and said he wasn't sure if he wanted to look at the play until Moore told him to watch. "When Te told me that, I thought, "Why wouldn't I watch?" Whittington said. "I've seen him make those kinds of kicks all of the time." "I was just proud of the way we handled the moment," Oregon coach Dan Lanning said. "I had guys coming up to me during the game saying, "Coach, breathe." That was what I had been telling them all week. And for them to be able to come up and say the same thing to me, it just tells you they believed in what we were doing." Iowa quarterback Mark Gronowski's 3-yard touchdown run capped a 12-play, 93-yard march that gave the Hawkeyes (6-3, 4-2, No. 20 CFP) their first lead, 16-15 with 1:51 to play. Iowa went for 2, but Gronowski's conversion pass was incomplete. Moore completed five passes for 47 yards during the winning drive on what was otherwise a challenging day for the Ducks' offense. He finished with just 112 yards passing and one interception. Whittington had 118 rushing yards for the Ducks, who extended their road winning streak to 11 games, the longest in the FBS. Oregon had 261 rushing yards against an Iowa defense that ranked 10th nationally, giving up 83.9 yards per game. "We went into the game knowing we could win in the trenches," Whittington said. "All week, we said we could run in the trenches. And we ran in the trenches." - Oregon/AP College Football

  10/25/25 - Jordon DavisonFr/2029, Oregon, 6-0, 236 (DS#3 RB) + More +

Jordon Davison ran for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns and No. 6 Oregon overcame a slow start to hand Wisconsin its sixth straight loss with a lackluster 21-7 victory on a rainy Saturday night. Dante Moore threw for just 86 yards the Ducks (7-1, 4-1 Big Ten), who didn't score their first touchdown until late in the opening half. Moore left with an apparent face injury in the third quarter. Wisconsin avoided its third straight shutout with Hunter Simmon's 2-yard touchdown pass to Lance Mason with 7:57 to go in the game. The touchdown snapped a drought of 11 straight quarters without a point for the Badgers (2-6, 0-5). Wisconsin was coming off a 37-0 loss at home to Iowa and a 34-0 loss last weekend to No. 1 Ohio State, also at Camp Randall. The Badgers hadn't gone scoreless in three straight games since 1968.

Given Wisconsin's struggles, Oregon got off to an uncharacteristically slow start, with just 21 yards of total offense, including minus-16 rushing yards, and just two first downs in the first quarter. Oregon didn't manage to score until Davison's 3-yard touchdown run with 1:07 left in the first half. The Ducks opened the second half with Davison's 20-yard run for another score to make it 14-0. Moore took a knock to his face in the third quarter but kept his helmet on after being treated in the medical tent on the sideline. Backup Brock Thomas took over and threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to Gernorris Wilson early in the fourth. Wisconsin was missing many key players because of injuries, including its top two running backs, Dilin Jones and Darrion Dupree. The Badgers' leading tackler, linebacker Christian Alliegro, was also out as were the team's top two centers, Jake Renfro and Kerry Kodanko and punt returner Tyrell Henry and safety safety Preston Zachman. Wisconsin quarterback Billy Edwards has played just one full series since he was hurt in the opener. Simmons, a transfer from Southern Illinois who started the season as the team's third string quarterback, threw for 86 yards, a touchdown and an interception. - AP College Football

Dante Moore passed for 290 yards and four touchdowns and No. 8 Oregon followed its first loss of the season with a 56-10 romp over Rutgers on Saturday night in the first meeting between the schools. A week after falling 30-20 to Indiana at home, Oregon (6-1, 3-1 Big Ten) extended the nation's longest road winning streak to 10 games. Noah Whittington ran for 125 yards and two TDs and the Ducks piled up 750 total yards - 415 rushing and 335 passing - for the most yards against a Power 4 school this season. The Scarlet Knights (3-4, 0-4) have not beaten a ranked team in 16 years, the longest active streak in college football. They managed just 202 total yards with quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis was constantly under pressure. He was 8 of 25 for 79 yards, threw two interceptions and was sacked three times.   Oregon moved up to No. 2 in The Associated Press college football poll on Sunday, Mississippi earned its highest ranking since 2015, Alabama jumped back into the top 10 and Virginia was in the Top 25 for the first time in six years in the wake of a volatile weekend in which four top-10 teams lost. Ohio State won at Washington and remains No. 1 for the fifth straight week. The Buckeyes received 46 first-place votes, six fewer than a week ago, and their 37-point lead over Oregon is the closest margin between the top two teams since the preseason poll in mid-August.

Oregon's two-overtime win at Penn State earned the Ducks 16 first-place votes, 15 more than last week, and gave them their highest ranking since they were No. 1 for two months last year. Miami, which had an open date, slipped one spot to No. 3 and was followed by Mississippi and idle Oklahoma. The No. 4 Rebels got a nine-rung promotion for beating LSU and have their highest ranking since they were No. 3 in late September 2015. LSU fell to No. 13, swapping places with Mississippi. Texas A&M, Penn State, Indiana, Texas and Alabama round out the top 10. - AP College Football
