  12/20/25 - Malachi ToneyFr/2029, Miami, 5-10, 188 (DS#2 WR) + More +

Malachi Toney's tiebreaking 11-yard touchdown reception with less than two minutes left lifted No. 10 seed Miami to a 10-3 victory over No. 7 Texas A&M on Saturday in the College Football Playoff. Mark Fletcher Jr. had a career-high 172 yards rushing to help the Hurricanes (11-2) advance to the Cotton Bowl to face No. 2 seed Ohio State on Dec. 31. Toney's big play came a series after what looked a devastating mistake for the freshman. Toney made a reception, but Dalton Brooks knocked the ball out and Daymion Sanford recovered it on the Texas A&M 47 with about seven minutes to go. Teammates surrounded a visibly upset Toney on the bench, encouraging him and trying to keep him positive.

He and Miami's offense got another chance when Rueben Bain Jr. sacked Marcel Reed on two of three plays on the ensuing drive to force a punt. A career-long 56-yard run by Fletcher on the first play of the next drive got the Hurricanes to the Texas A&M 30 with about three minutes to go. Miami used four more runs by Fletcher to get into scoring position before Toney took the short toss from Carson Beck and dashed into the end zone. The Aggies had a chance to tie it after that but Bryce Fitzgerald intercepted Reed for the second time - this time in the end zone - to end it. - Miami/AP College Football

  12/07/25 - Darian MensahrSo/2028, Miami, 6-3, 205 (DS#4 QB) + More +

Duke won its first outright Atlantic Coast Conference title since 1962 and threw the College Football Playoff into chaos on Saturday night when Darian Mensah connected with Jeremiah Hasley for a 1-yard touchdown on a fourth-down play in overtime, and the unranked Blue Devils held on to beat No. 16 Virginia 27-20. The Blue Devils (8-5) are unlikely to make the playoff field, opening the door for a second Group of Five team - likely James Madison - to make it. Duke last won a share of the ACC regular-season title in 1989, sharing it with Virginia in Steve Spurrier's final season as the Blue Devils' coach. The conference championship game was created in 2005, and Duke got there this year thanks to a five-team tiebreaker. Virginia (10-3), the ACC regular-season champion, would have reached the CFP for the first time in school history with a victory but fell short when Chandler Morris was intercepted by Luke Mergott on the Cavaliers' first offensive play of OT. Mensah threw for 196 yards and two scores - both to Hasley - while Nate Sheppard ran for 97 yards and a score for Duke. Virginia trailed by 10 with 5:02 left in regulation, but got a field goal from Will Bettridge before Morris capped a 10-play, 96-yard drive with an 18-yard strike to Eli Wood in the left corner of the end zone with 22 seconds left to tie it at 20-all.

In the extra period, Sheppard got the Blue Devils to the Virginia 2 with three runs. Duke was stuffed twice before Mensah rolled out and found Hasley for the go-ahead score. Virginia was flagged for roughing passer on the throw, meaning it had to start its overtime possession at the 40 instead of the 25. Morris fired downfield on first down and was picked off by Mergott, setting off a raucuous celebration. Morris, who finished 21 of 40 for 216 yards with two TDs and two interceptions, was in tears after the game. J'Mari Taylor, the ACC's leading rusher, was limited to 65 yards on 15 carries and scored on an 11-yard reception. Duke established control of the line of scrimmage early. The Blue Devils controlled the clock in the first half, putting together the two longest drives in ACC championship game history - 9:38 and 8:02 - culminating with a 12-yard touchdown catch by Hasley and a 16-yard run by Sheppard to take a 14-7 lead into halftime. Duke coach Manny Diaz, who ran a fake field goal that led to the Blue Devils' dramatic win over rival North Carolina, called a fake punt on Duke's go-ahead drive in the second quarter. It worked, with Kevin O'Connor taking the direct snap and running up the middle for 6 yards. - Duke/AP College Football

  12/02/25 - Francis MauigoaJr/2026, Miami, 6-6, 335 (DS#1 OT) + More +

2025 ACC JACOBS BLOCKING TROPHY WINNER: Miami offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa has been voted the winner of the 2025 Jacobs Blocking Trophy, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced on Monday. Mauigoa is the first Miami Hurricane to receive the ACC Jacobs Blocking Trophy. The Jacobs Blocking Trophy has been awarded annually since 1953 to the player selected most outstanding blocker in the ACC by a poll of the league's head coaches and defensive coordinators. The trophy is given in memory of William P. Jacobs, who served as president of Presbyterian College from 1935 to 1945. Mauigoa, a 6-6, 335-pound junior from Ili'ili, American Samoa, has played and started in every game for the Hurricanes at right tackle for each of the last three years, earning All-ACC recognition in both 2023 and 2024, and Freshman All-America honors in 2023.

Mauigoa has been one of Miami's highest-graded offensive linemen, starting all 38 games at right tackle since arriving in 2023. His 85.9 overall grade from Pro Football Focus ranks sixth among all offensive tackles nationally, while his 88.8 pass-blocking grade is the third best in college football. A projected first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, Mauigoa anchors an offensive line that ranks eighth nationally in sacks allowed (0.92) and sixth in tackles-for-loss allowed (3.50). He was also named to the Joe Moore Award midseason honor roll recognizing the nation's top offensive line units. He was also named both an ACC Offensive Lineman and Outland Trophy National Player of the Week this season and was on several preseason watch lists, including the Outland Trophy and the Wuerffel Trophy. - ACC Football

  11/29/25 - Darian MensahrSo/2028, Miami, 6-3, 205 (DS#4 QB) + More +

Darian Mensah reached a record-setting passing touchdown total for Duke as the Blue Devils stayed alive for a chance at an Atlantic Coast Conference championship by defeating Wake Forest 49-32 on Saturday. Duke (7-5, 6-2 ACC) can reach next week's ACC title game if a couple of results in the conference fall its way later Saturday night. Mensah also ran for his first TD of the season. The transfer from Tulane finished the game 24-for-35 passing for 268 yards in the air. Anderson Castle and Nate Sheppard each had two touchdown runs and the Blue Devils never trailed in defeating Wake Forest (8-4, 4-4) for the fourth year in a row. Sahmir Hagans caught a touchdown pass and made an 80-yard kickoff return to set up the first points of the fourth quarter. Robby Ashford threw for two touchdowns and 342 yards and ran for a touchdown and a two-point conversion, but Wake Forest's three-game winning streak ended. The Demon Deacons committed four turnovers - including a fumble at the Duke 18-yard line with 6:38 left and were hit with 97 yards worth of penalties. Duke, which used a fake field goal to set up the winning touchdown a week earlier at North Carolina, pulled off a successful fake punt with less than 10 minutes to go with punter Kade Reynoldson running for a first down. The Blue Devils didn't score on the drive but chewed up an extra 2½ minutes while holding a 42-32 lead. Mensah's third-quarter touchdown pass to Hagans for 30 yards set the Duke single-season record with 27 before he added another in the game's final minute. - Duke/AP College Football

  11/29/25 - Carson BeckrSr/2026, Miami, 6-4, 225 (DS#5 QB) + More +

Carson Beck passed for 267 yards with three touchdowns and an interception as No. 13 Miami beat No. 24 Pittsburgh 38-7 on Saturday to keep its slim hopes for a spot in the ACC title game alive, at least for a few hours. The Hurricanes (10-2, 6-2 ACC) need several other outcomes across the league to go their way later Saturday to earn a spot in the conference championship next week in Charlotte. The more long-range - and far more pressing - matter for Miami is whether it has done enough to earn one of the at-large berths in the College Football Playoff. The Hurricanes ripped off four straight wins by an average of 27.5 points to close the regular season. Miami's resume also includes a victory over No. 6 Notre Dame in the season opener. A lot has happened over the last three months, though the Hurricanes hope their play down the stretch puts them back in the position they thought they'd be to start the season: in the mix to play for a national title.

Beck connected on 23 of 29 passes to finish the regular season with a 74.7% completion percentage, tops in the FBS and a new program record. The Georgia transfer added an exclamation point at the end, a 33-yard heave to CJ Daniels in the final minute with victory well in hand in hopes of adding some style points against a team ranked No. 22 in this week's CFP rankings. Malachi Toney caught 13 passes for 126 yards and added a 9-yard lob to Elija Lofton for a score in the second quarter that gave the Hurricanes a lead they never came close to squandering. Pitt (8-4, 6-2) came in with its own hopes of reaching the ACC championship. They evaporated in the late November chill as Miami hounded Panthers freshman quarterback Mason Heintschel and wore Pitt's defense down in the second half. Heintschel, whose promotion to starter in early October coincided with the start of Pitt's six-game ACC winning streak, was sacked on the game's first play, and the Hurricanes never really let up. He shook off a leg injury late in the first half to return for the second but completed just 22 of 32 for 199 yards with a touchdown and an interception. - Miami/AP College Football

  11/22/25 - Carson BeckrSr/2026, Miami, 6-4, 225 (DS#5 QB) + More +

Carson Beck threw for 320 yards and four touchdowns to lead No. 14 Miami to a 34-17 victory over Virginia Tech on Saturday. Malachi Toney had career highs in receptions (12) and yards (146) and had a touchdown, lifting the Hurricanes (9-2, 5-2 ACC, No. 13 CFP) to their third straight win and keeping alive their hopes of making it to the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game. Beck, who completed his first 11 passes and finished 27 of 32, threw touchdown passes of 20 yards to Elija Lofton and 3 yards to Mark Fletcher in the first half, and Carter Davis added two field goals, as Miami scored on all four first-half possessions to take a 20-3 halftime lead.

Virginia Tech (3-8, 2-5) cut the lead to 20-10 on a 38-yard touchdown run by Jeffrey Overton on its first possession of the second half, but Miami answered with a 16-yard TD pass from Beck to Girard Pringle Jr. nearly seven minutes later. Beck added a 20-yard touchdown pass to Toney in the final minute for the Hurricanes, who finished with 418 yards. Marcellous Hawkins finished with 72 yards on eight carries for the Hokies, who had 194 yards rushing against the ACC's No. 1 rushing defense (81.8 ypg) and lost their third straight game. - Miami/AP College Football

  11/22/25 - Jack OlsenrSr/2027, Miami, 5-10, 195 (DS#20 K) + More +

Jack Olsen's third field goal of the game, from 33 yards, snapped a tie with 53 seconds left and Northwestern ended a three-game losing streak with a wild 38-35 win over Minnesota at Wrigley Field on Saturday. Olsen's boot capped a 14-play, 60-yard drive as Northwestern rebounded from a 28-13 third-quarter deficit to snap a three-game losing streak. Minnesota's Brady Denaburg's 40-yard field-goal attempt as time expired went wide to the left, and the Wildcats (6-5, 4-4 Big Ten) held on for their first victory ever at the historic home of the Chicago Cubs in eight tries dating to 1923. Preston Stone threw for two touchdowns and 305 yards on 25-for-30 passing. Caleb Komolafe hauled in his first reception touchdown this season and ran for another to increase his season total 11 TDs and finish with 129 total yards. Griffin Wilde pulled in a reception TD and 111 total yards and Joseph Himon II rushed for a score. Drake Lindsey passed for four touchdowns - three to Javon Tracy - but Minnesota (6-5, 4-4) lost its second straight.

Lindsey, a 20-year-old redshirt freshman, finished with 264 yards on 20-for-30 passing. He started connecting consistently after Northwestern got out to 10-0 and 13-7 leads after it scored on its first three possessions. Linsdey hit Lemeke Brockington with an 8-yard pass for his fourth TD with 8:20 left in the fourth as Minnesota tied it 35 all on a zippy six-play, 75-yard drive. Komolafe's second touchdown of the game, on a short pass from Stone had put Northwestern ahead two minutes earlier. Northwestern dominated in total yards, 525-323 thanks to a 220-59 advantage in rushing in a game that became a shootout after a choppy penalty-filled first quarter. Darius Taylor rushed for Minnesota's first touchdown and 43 yards. Koi Perich had a 93-yard kickoff return in the second quarter. Tracy, a junior wide receiver, had his first multi-TD game with the Golden Gophers and upped his season total to six. The transfer from Miami (Ohio) became the first Minnesota player with three TD receptions in a game since Rashod Bateman, now with the Baltimore Ravens, did it against Northwestern on Nov. 23, 2019. - Northwestern/AP College Football
