  11/15/25 - Carson BeckrSr/2026, Miami, 6-5, 233 (DS#4 QB) + More +

Carson Beck passed for 291 yards and three touchdowns, two of them to Malachi Toney, and No. 16 Miami - looking to climb in the College Football Playoff rankings - rolled past N.C. State 41-7 on Saturday. Beck completed his final 13 throws to cap off a 21-for-27 day for the Hurricanes (8-2, 4-2 Atlantic Coast Conference). Miami now has five wins by at least 25 points this season, the most in a single year by the Hurricanes since the 2002 team had six such victories.

Jakobe Thomas picked off two passes in the first quarter, running one of them back for a touchdown for Miami. And Girard Pringle Jr. more than doubled his season rushing total for the Hurricanes; he ran for 116 yards on Saturday, one more than he had in his first four games of the year. Miami took a 41-0 lead before substituting liberally in the fourth quarter on Senior Day, the last regular-season home game for the Hurricanes. Miami outgained N.C. State 581-149. CJ Bailey completed 17 of 30 passes for 120 yards for N.C. State (5-5, 2-4). The Wolfpack - with Miami playing reserves on defense at the time - got on the scoreboard on a rushing touchdown from Bailey with 2:18 left. That extended N.C. State's streak of not getting shut out to 144 games; its last time being blanked was Oct. 4, 2014. Miami was 15th in this week's CFP ranking, the highest of any ACC team. - Miami/AP College Football

  11/08/25 - Carson BeckrSr/2026, Miami, 6-5, 233 (DS#4 QB) + More +

Quarterback Carson Beck caught a touchdown pass. Offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa turned a backward pass into a rushing score. And Miami went deep into the depth chart to overcome some injuries. The first step of getting back into the College Football Playoff chase is complete for the Hurricanes. Beck eclipsed the 10,000-yard passing mark for his college career, Miami's defense recorded six sacks and the 18th-ranked Hurricanes used some tricks to roll to a 38-10 win over Syracuse on Saturday. "When Miami's on, Miami really distinguishes itself as one of the better teams," Hurricanes coach Mario Cristobal said. The Hurricanes weren't on through their first four drives. After that, they rolled.

Mauigoa's catch of a backward pass finished off what went into the books as a 3-yard rushing touchdown - "it's a play we've been practicing for two, three years now," Mauigoa said after his first touchdown since he was a little kid playing in American Samoa - while Keionte Scott had an interception return touchdown for the Hurricanes (7-2, 3-2 Atlantic Coast Conference). Keelan Marion had 116 receiving yards and Girard Pringle Jr. had a touchdown run for Miami. The Hurricanes punted on each of their first four drives - then scored on each of their next four possessions, with the exception of a kneel-down to end the first half. Miami had no points on its first 22 plays, 24 points on its next 22. "We had lot of self-inflicted wounds," Syracuse coach Fran Brown said. "I think they're a really good football team." Elijah Washington-Baker had a 17-yard touchdown catch with 21 seconds left and Rickie Collins completed 12 of 25 passes for 85 yards for Syracuse (3-7, 1-6), which gave up six sacks and has dropped six straight. It's the longest losing streak for the Orange since an eight-game slide in 2020. Beck finished 18 of 24 passing for 247 yards and a score. He opened the scoring with a 14-yard touchdown catch on a pass from receiver Malachi Toney with 2:13 left in the first half, and the Hurricanes were very different from there. - Miami/AP College Football

  11/01/25 - Darian MensahrSo/2028, Miami, 6-3, 205 (DS#4 QB) + More +

Duke coach Manny Diaz did not want to chance overtime at Clemson's Death Valley. His team made sure he wouldn't have to. Nate Sheppard had a 3-yard touchdown run with 40 seconds left and Duke followed with a two-point conversion from Darian Mensah to Shamir Hagans to win at Clemson for the first time since 1980 with a 46-45 victory Saturday. "Going extra innings at Death Valley isn't really a good plan," Diaz said. Winning in regulation somewhere you hadn't in 45 years? "This is a major step for our program," Diaz said. The Blue Devils (5-3, 4-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) trailed 45-38 and started the game-winning drive on their 6-yard line. Mensah led an 11-play drive in which he converted two fourth downs to set up Sheppard's TD run.

There was no hesitation from Duke's Diaz who kept the offense on the field and Mensah quicky found Hagans for the decisive points. It was a quirky game of dramatic momentum swings. Duke looked unstoppable in gaining 199 yards in the first quarter to lead 21-7. But Clemson woke up with three straight TDs to lead 28-21. The Tigers looked in control again with six minutes left until Duke's final drive. "We just stayed poised and showed our confidence," Mensah said. It was another low moment in a terrible season for Clemson (3-5, 1-4), the defending ACC champions and a trendy pick to win Dabo Swinney's third national title. The Tigers have lost four home games for the first time since 1998. They're on pace for Swinney's worst season since 2010 when the Tigers were 6-7 and the coach thought his time at the school was done. Instead, he won eight ACC titles and national championships after the 2016 and 2018 seasons. "I feel like I'm in 2010 all over again," Swinney said. After Duke took the final lead, the Tigers tried a desperation, pass the ball to anyone open play as the clock ran out. When Duke finally stopped the play, the sidelines jumped into joyous celebration. After all, it had been more than four decades since the football Blue Devils had left Death Valley with a victory. - Duke/AP College Football

  10/25/25 - Mark Fletcher Jr.Jr/2027, Miami, 6-1, 225 (DS#2 RB) + More +

The first half was shaky. The second half was all Miami. Mark Fletcher Jr. rushed for 106 yards and a career-high three touchdowns, Miami's defense was airtight for much of the game and the ninth-ranked Hurricanes pulled away for a 42-7 win over Stanford on Saturday night. Carson Beck - coming off the first four-interception game of his career in last week's loss to Louisville - completed 21 of 28 passes for 189 yards and a touchdown to CJ Daniels for Miami (6-1, 2-1 Atlantic Coast Conference), while Jordan Lyle and Girard Pringle Jr. also ran for touchdowns. It was Miami's biggest victory margin in an ACC game since beating Duke 47-10 on Nov. 27, 2021. "Mark Fletcher showed why he's such a great player and why he's so important to this football team." Miami coach Mario Cristobal said. Miami had touchdowns on six of its last seven possessions; the one drive where it didn't score in that span saw the Hurricanes stopped on a fourth-down try at the Stanford 21. "Proud of the way our guys stuck with it," Cristobal said.

Malachi Toney had 138 all-purpose yards, 73 of them coming on a pair of punt returns for the Hurricanes. Miami passed for 205 yards and rushed for 199, outgaining Stanford 404-144. "That right there was the standard for University of Miami football," Toney said. Cole Tabb rushed for 64 yards for Stanford (3-5, 2-3) in the first-ever meeting between the Hurricanes and the Cardinal. Ben Gulbranson threw for Stanford's lone touchdown and completed five of his first six passes for 31 yards; he was 4-for-15 with two interceptions and only 19 yards the rest of the way. Stanford led 7-0 after one quarter and it was 7-7 at the half. The rest was all Miami, in a reversal of the game that Stanford interim coach Frank Reich - then the Maryland quarterback - had against the Hurricanes in 1984, when he rallied his team out of a 31-0 halftime hole and won 42-40. This time, the Hurricanes outscored the Cardinal 35-0 in the final 30 minutes. Stanford racked up 74 yards on its first drive - capped by a TD - then managed only 25 total yards on its next eight possessions combined. "I thought our defense did a pretty good job in the first half...and then they got after us real good in the second half," Reich said. - Miami/AP College Football

  10/05/25 - Carson BeckrSr/2026, Miami, 6-5, 233 (DS#4 QB) + More +

Miami moved back to No. 2 in The Associated Press college football poll on Sunday, Texas Tech has its highest ranking since 2008 and Penn State and Texas fell all the way out of the Top 25 for the first time since 2022 after the two top-10 teams lost to unranked opponents. No. 1 Ohio State was dominant in its win over Minnesota, but its 40 first-place votes were its fewest since ascending to the top five weeks ago. The Hurricanes, who moved ahead of idle Oregon, went from receiving four first-place votes last week to 21 this week after winning at Florida State. Miami also had been No. 2 two weeks ago following an open date and gave up that spot last week after Oregon's overtime win at Penn State.

Oregon, which received the other five first-place votes, was followed by idle No. 4 Mississippi and No. 5 Texas A&M. The Aggies hammered Mississippi State and earned their highest ranking since Jimbo Fisher's 2021 team was No. 5 in early September. Oklahoma slipped from No. 5 to No. 6 despite its 44-0 shutout of Kent State. Indiana, which had an open date, is No. 7 and No. 8 Alabama got a two-spot promotion for its 16-point win over Vanderbilt. No. 9 Texas Tech, which won 35-11 at previously unbeaten Houston, cracked the top 10 for the first time since it was No. 8 in the final regular-season poll in 2008. Georgia moved up two spots to No. 10 after its win over Kentucky. Texas was the AP's preseason No. 1 team and Penn State was No. 2. Both are now out of the rankings. - AP College Football

  09/27/25 - Darian MensahrSo/2028, Miami, 6-3, 205 (DS#4 QB) + More +

Darian Mensah threw two touchdown passes to Cooper Barkate, Nate Sheppard ran for two more, and Duke scored 35 unanswered points in routing Syracuse 38-3 Saturday. Mensah, who now has 13 touchdown passes, was 22 of 28 for 268 yards. Sheppard had 168 yards on 15 carries for the Blue Devils (3-2, 2-0 Atlantic Coast Conference), including scoring runs of 49 and 12 yards. Que'sean Brown and Sahmir Hagans had five catches each for 64 and 59 yards, respectively. Duke amassed 504 yards of total offense averaging nearly 8 yards per play. Syracuse (3-2, 1-1 ACC) quarterback Rickie Collins, making his first collegiate start replacing Steve Angeli, out for the season with a torn Achilles, was 24 of 37 for 229 yards. Johntay Cook had eight receptions for 84 yards but fumbled twice, one on a controversial play that shifted the game's momentum.

Yasin Wllis ran for 63 yards. The game turned early in the second quarter with Syracuse trailing 10-3 and driving. Collins hit Cook on a 19-yard pass play to the Duke 39. The Blue Devils were called for targeting, but after a lengthy review, officials ruled Cook fumbled. The ball was recovered by Bradley Gompers and the Blue Devils scored just three plays later on a 34-yard strike from Mensah to Barkate, extending the margin to 17-3. Syracuse never threatened after that. Things looked promising at the start for Collins as he completed his first pass to Cook for 18 yards, but his next attempt was batted down. Collins completed his third pass to Cook but Duke safety Caleb Weaver intercepted his next attempt and returned it 40 yards, setting up a 22-yard field goal by Todd Pelino. Syracuse tied the score at 3 on a 29-yard field goal by Tripp Woody, but then it was all Duke, who led 24-3 at the half. - Duke/AP College Football

Miami jumped LSU and Penn State into the No. 2 spot behind Ohio State in The Associated Press college football poll on Sunday while Oklahoma climbed into top 10 for the first time in two years and Indiana and Texas Tech made big moves after lopsided wins over Top 25 opponents. The Hurricanes have beaten two ranked opponents, and they turned in another complete performance in a 19-point home win over Florida to earn their highest ranking since 2017.

Penn State, which had been No. 2 since the preseason, was idle and slipped to No. 3. LSU fell one spot to No. 4 after an easy win over Southeastern Louisiana of the second-tier Football Championship Subdivision. No. 5 Georgia and No. 6 Oregon held their positions and were followed by No. 7 Oklahoma, which beat previously ranked Auburn at home and returned to the top 10 for the first time since it started 7-0 in 2023. Florida State, Texas A&M and Texas round out the top 10. - AP College Football
