  2021 ALL-CAA FOOTBALL SECOND TEAM (COACHES): Andre Miller, Maine, WR, Gr.,...Miller earned his second All-Conference honor after being selected to the All-CAA First Team in the spring of 2021. Miller tallied 39 receptions for 684 yards and three touchdowns in nine games this season. Miller ranked ninth in the CAA in receptions per game (3.90) and fourth in receiving yards per game (68.4) while averaging 17.5 yards per catch. Miller concludes his impressive career ranking 14th on Maine's all-time receiving yards list with 1,848 to go along with 104 receptions and 14 touchdowns. - Maine Football

  Joe Gillette accounted for two touchdowns to lead Lafayette to a 24-14 victory over Pennsylvania on Saturday. Gillette caught a 70-yard touchdown pass from Ah-Shaun Davis - his first career scoring throw - that gave Lafayette (1-3) a 17-14 lead midway through the third quarter. The Leopards' Billy Shaeffer had two interceptions, including a 41-yard pick-6 that capped the scoring with 14 seconds left in the third. Gillette, a junior receiver, also had a 29-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. He finished with 49 yards rushing and caught five passes for 91 yards. Davis was 12 of 18 for 157 yards passing. John Quinnelly threw a touchdown pass and three interceptions for Penn (1-1). He was 18-of-34 passing for 244 yards. - AP College Football

  SEPT 20 CAA SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Rich Carr, Sr., DB, Maine (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Joseph's Prep),...Carr blocked two extra points, one of which he returned 95 yards, that were the difference in Maine's 31-26 win over Merrimack. The senior's first blocked PAT was returned 75 yards for a defensive extra point by Kolubah Pewee, Jr. and the second, which he returned for two points, came late in the third period.   Carter Peevy threw for 139 yards and a touchdown and Tommy Pollack ran for 111 yards and two scores, and Mercer beat NAIA-member Point University 69-0 on Thursday night in its season opener. The Bears' total points established a new program record. Mercer amassed a total of 778 yards with 539 coming on the ground. Mercer had 12 rushers finish with yardage from the line of scrimmage while nine players caught at least one pass. Peevy was 9-for-12 passing, Dylan Fromm came on in relief to throw 5 for 7 for 46 yards and a score, and Fred Payton went 4 for 6 for 54 yards and a touchdown. Peyton Allen threw for 58 yards with an interception for Point University, which had 99 yards of total offense.   Carter Peevy threw three touchdown passes, and Mercer snapped a four-game losing streak with a 42-28 victory over The Citadel on Saturday. Peevy threw a 75-yard touchdown pass to Drake Starks on Mercer's first play from scrimmage, and his 8-yard TD pass to Ethan Dirrim stretched the lead to 28-0 midway through the quarter. Peevy's 33-yard pass to Ty James with 8:36 remaining gave Mercer a 35-20 lead. Peevey was 10 of 17 for 208 yards for Mercer (1-4, 1-1 Southern Conference). Starks had three catches for 99 yards.   Boston College wide receiver Kobay White underwent anterior cruciate ligament surgery on his knee Tuesday morning and will be out for the remainder of the season. The 5-11, 195-pound, graduate student from Harrisburg, Pa., developed knee problems in training camp and was unable to participate in last Saturday's 26-6 victory at Duke. "Kobay had surgery on his ACL yesterday (Tuesday) so he will be out for the year," said BC head coach Jeff Hafley. "I didn't want to say anything, I wanted him to have his surgery and clear his head and not have to read about it all over the media. "So, out of respect for him I wanted to make sure everything went OK and everything did go OK and he's on to recovery. We'll miss him. He's not only a great player but a great leader and he'll be back." White played in 12 regular season games with 11 starts in 2019 and led the team with 27 receptions. - Boston Herald

Miller set Maine's all-time school record with a 90 yard touchdown reception in a road win at UAlbany. During the season, Miller tallied a pair of 100+ yard receiving performances, including four catches for a season best 115 yards, including an 87 yard score, against Richmond. Edwards, who recorded a touchdown in 18 of his last 19 career games, finished his senior campaign ranked third in the CAA in receiving yards (1,097), second in receiving yards per game (99.7) and ninth in receptions per game (4.5).
