California fired offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave and offensive line coach Angus McClure on Sunday with the Bears on a six-game losing streak. The Bears (3-7) rank near the bottom of the Pac-12 in total offense (5.42 yards per play), rushing (3.40 yards per carry) and scoring (23.2 points per game). "I felt these changes to our coaching staff were needed and made them with the best interest of our football program in mind," head coach Justin Wilcox said in a statement. "We thank Bill and Angus for their contributions and the investments they made in Cal football, and we wish them all of the best in their future endeavors." Cal has two games left, both at home. The Bears face rival Stanford on Saturday and finish the season against No. 16 UCLA on Thanksgiving weekend. Musgrave and McClure were both in their third seasons with Cal.   Tyler Shough threw a touchdown pass and ran for a score and Texas Tech outlasted Kansas 43-28 on Saturday night. Shough rushed for a 9-yard touchdown on the first play of the fourth quarter to give Texas Tech (5-5, 3-4 Big 12 Conference) a 33-21 lead. It was the first score by either team in the second half. Tahj Brooks sealed the victory with a 5-yard touchdown run with 3:33 remaining in the game. Four different Red Raiders scored four rushing touchdowns in the win. Shough was 16-for-25 passing for 246 yards and a touchdown in his first start since the opening week of the season. Texas Tech totaled 506 yards of offense with 260 of them on the ground.

The Red Raiders used a brief two-quarterback system with Shough and Donovan Smith. Smith rushed for a 6-yard touchdown on the opening drive where Shough was responsible for 57 of the 75 yards on the drive. SaRodorick Thompson Jr. rushed for 68 yards with a 36-yard touchdown for the Red Raiders. Mason Tharp caught a 1-yard touchdown pass from Shough to give the Red Raiders a 24-7 lead midway through the first half. The Jayhawks managed to claw back to trail 27-21 at halftime on Jason Bean's 16-yard touchdown run and his 3-yard scoring toss to Devin Neel. Quentin Skinner and Bean connected for a 20-yard touchdown to pull the Jayhawks within 33-28 with eight minutes remaining in the game, but the Red Raiders used a Trey Wolff field goal from and a strip sack that led to the final touchdown to hold on for the win. - Texas Tech/AP College Football

Tiyon Evans ran for 126 yards on 10 carries, including a 71-yard touchdown, to help lead Louisville to a 34-10 victory over James Madison on Saturday night. The junior transfer from Tennessee spurred a ground game that amassed 244 yards for the Cardinals (6-3). His touchdown with 6:04 left in the third quarter extended Louisville's lead to 20-10 and came one play after the Dukes (5-3) were forced to punt.

Jawhar Jordan added 117 yards on 17 carries, and Malik Cunningham threw for 223 yards and three scores on 14-of-20 passing in the win. Unlike last week, when Louisville's defense forced Wake Forest into eight turnovers and eight sacks, the Cardinals did not get any of those against the Dukes. However, the Cardinals found a way to stymie an offense that entered Saturday averaging 38.7 points and 480.7 yards per game, limiting James Madison to just 193 yards. James Madison's Percy Agyei-Obese ran for 102 yards on 24 carries. His 9-yard touchdown with 1:43 left in the first half gave the Dukes a 10-7 lead. Cunningham, however, then rallied the Cardinals for a nine-play, 65-yard drive that led to a James Turner 28-yard field goal to end the half and tie the game. Quarterback Todd Centeio returned to action for James Madison after missing the Oct. 22 game against Marshall due to an oblique injury. But he threw for just 52 yards on 4-of-15 passing after throwing for 862 yards in his two previous starts. - Louisville/AP College Football

Fueled by an opportunistic defense, Louisville used a 35-point third quarter to knock off No. 10 Wake Forest 48-21. The Cardinals (5-3, 3-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) forced eight turnovers, all of which came in the second half. Louisville forced six turnovers in the third quarter as coach Scott Satterfield took his first win against a top 10 team. Louisville needed a rally after losing a 13-0 lead they held a minute into the second quarter. A defense that's improved in recent weeks provided that spark and then some.

Kei'Trel Clark's 46-yard interception return for a touchdown gave Louisville a 20-14 lead 47 seconds into the second half. The period ended with a 90-yard pick six by Quincy Riley to provide Louisville with a 34-point lead. According to ESPN, Wake Forest was the first team in at least 15 years to commit eight turnovers in a half. Quarterback Sam Hartman completed 20 of 35 passes for 271 yards and a touchdown while throwing three picks for the Demon Deacons (6-2, 2-2). He was benched to start the fourth quarter. Louisville's Tiyon Evans ran for 106 yards on 11 carries, including a 52-yard touchdown, in his first action since the Boston College game on Oct. 1. - Louisville/AP College Football

The Cardinals will be missing a key player when they take the field against Pitt. Louisville running back Tiyon Evans will not play Saturday night against the Panthers, according to a team spokesperson. The Tennessee transfer hasn't played since going down with a lower leg injury against Boston College on Oct. 1. Jawhar Jordan started in his place against Virginia and totaled 29 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. This time, Trevion Cooley will be RB1 for the Cards. The do-it-all player has totaled 200 yards rushing and 56 receiving yards with a total of three touchdowns on the season. Evans has only played in four of the Cardinals' six games, missing two with injuries. So far this season, he's totaled 263 yards and three scores on 53 carries. - Courier Journal

Malik Cunningham threw a go-ahead touchdown pass to little-used tight end Josh Lifson, Kei'Trel Clark returned a sack fumble 59 yards for an insurance TD and Louisville beat Pittsburgh 24-10 on Saturday night for its second consecutive victory. Cunningham picked up his second TD after a 33-yard catch-and-run on a pass from receiver Braden Smith to the Panthers' 11. Two plays later a wide-open Lifson scooped up a low pass for just his second catch at Louisville and first score to make it 14-10 with 9:45 remaining. James Turner's 48-yard field goal provided a seven-point cushion before Yassir Abdullah sacked Kedon Slovis and forced a fumble that Clark returned for the clinching score.

Cunningham also tossed a 12-yard touchdown pass to Marshon Ford early in the second quarter and finished with 122 yards two weeks after missing a game with concussion-like symptoms. The fifth-year senior was shaken up late in the first half after another hard hit and missed the Cardinals' first series of the second half but came back to convert two big plays for Louisville (4-3, 2-3 Atlantic Coast Conference). The Panthers (4-3, 1-2) led 10-7 after Ben Sauls' 37-yard field goal late in the third quarter but committed four turnovers. Slovis was responsible for three, tossing two interceptions along with the fumble. Israel Abanikanda rushed 28 times for 129 yards, including a 12-yard TD run, after rushing for a school-record 320 yards against Virginia Tech last time out. - Louisville/AP College Football

Brock Domann proved an able replacement for injured Malik Cunningham, throwing for one touchdown, running for another and leading Louisville to a 34-17 victory at Virginia on Saturday. Domann overcame a slow start - his first completion was to former teammate Anthony Johnson, now a Virginia defensive back - and evoked thoughts of Cunningham when he took off on a 44-yard run for a tying touchdown. The Cardinals (3-3, 1-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) were without Cunningham, who had started a school-record 40 consecutive games, as he remained sidelined by a concussion sustained last week against Boston College.

Brennan Armstrong threw for a touchdown and ran for one for the Cavaliers (2-4, 0-3), but also helped kill Virginia's first quarter momentum when he fumbled the ball away and threw a pair of interceptions. Trevion Cooley and Jahwar Jordan ran for touchdowns for Louisville, with Jordan's making it 34-17 with 11:03 left and sending fans streaming out. Those who stayed saw Mike Hollins stopped on a fourth-and-1 try from the Cardinals' 5 with just over 8 minutes left on a call that was initially ruled a first down, but overturned on review, all but sealing Virginia's loss. The road victory surely helped Cardinals coach Scott Satterfield, rumored to be on the hot seat. The victory also ended a remarkable nine-game losing streak for Louisville in games they led or at least tied in the fourth quarter. - Louisville/AP College Football

Louisville coach Scott Satterfield says quarterback Malik Cunningham's status is being evaluated daily for concussion-like symptoms after he was injured Saturday's loss at Boston College. The fifth-year senior ran for three touchdowns and threw for another before finishing the game, a 34-33 defeat, on the sideline. He was removed for one play in the third quarter after taking a hit to the head from BC defensive back Jaylen Blackwell, who was penalized for targeting. Cunningham played two more series before being replaced by Brock Domann.

Satterfield said Tuesday that Cunningham told team doctors that he "felt a little different" after taking another hit later and was pulled from the game. "His status now is day to day and it'll be determined by our doctors what they allow him to do," Satterfield said during his weekly news conference, which came ahead of Saturday's ACC game at Virginia. "If he's able to go, then obviously he'll go. But if they say he's not ready, then he won't go." Cunningham was injured two days after Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion, laying on the turf with his hands and fingers frozen upward after being slammed backward to the turf in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Tagovailoa had experienced concussion-like symptoms after a hit four days earlier against the Buffalo Bills but was cleared to return, raising questions about the NFL's handling of such injuries. - AP College Football

SEPT 26 SUN BELT SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Caullin Lacy, South Alabama (So., RS - Mobile, Ala.),...Jaguars sophomore return specialist Caullin Lacy took a Louisiana Tech punt back 57 yards for a touchdown just four minutes into the game to give South Alabama a two-touchdown advantage it would never relinquish in its 38-14 non-conference win. The Mobile, Ala., native's return was the first of the season and the second-longest in program history. Lacy's return was just the third punt return for a touchdown in program history and is the first since Tra Minter's 75-yard punt return touchdown against Alabama State in 2018. - Sun Belt Football

Malik Cunningham ran for three of his four touchdowns as Louisville rolled to a 41-3 win over South Florida on Saturday afternoon. Cunningham put the Cardinals (2-2) comfortably ahead by halftime with TDs on four of five possessions. He had scoring runs of 35, 40 and 8 yards and tossed a 26-yard TD to senior transfer Jaelin Carter, who stretched to make a leaping grab in the end zone for his first score as a Cardinal. Cunningham finished 14 of 22 passing for 186 yards and ran nine times for 113 yards before going to the bench early in the fourth quarter.

It was the fifth-year senior's 10th 100-plus-yard rushing game and third in a row. Cunningham is the eighth player in NCAA history to have over 3,000 rushing yards and 8,000 passing. Louisville had one of its best games of the season offensively, out-gaining USF (1-3) 542-158. That total included 283 rushing, with Trevion Cooley gaining 75 on 11 carries and Tiyon Evans 53 on 13 attempts. The Bulls (1-3) averted a shutout when Spencer Schrader kicked a 37-yard field goal on the first play of the fourth quarter. The Bulls had three first-half turnovers. Gerry Bohanon Jr. threw two interceptions and USF had a fumble. Bohanon was 9 of 17 passing for 62 yards and was relieved in the third quarter by backup quarterback Katravis Marsh, who was 4 of 11 for 48 yards. - Louisville/AP College Football
