  12/13/20 - McKenzie MiltonrSr/2022, Florida State, 5-11, 194 (DS#29 QB) + More +

Quarterback McKenzie Milton won't be going long in his transfer from the University of Central Florida, just 260 miles up the state to Florida State, it was announced today. "It's a great opportunity to play at the biggest level on one of the most historic teams in college football," Milton told ESPN today. Milton said last week that he would transfer from UCF, where he had started as a freshman out of Mililani High. He had an array of choices after entering the NCAA transfer portal before settling on the Seminoles. Milton, who finished eighth in the Heisman Trophy voting in 2017, suffered severe knee, ligament and nerve injuries in the final regular-season game of 2018 that nearly resulted in the loss of his right leg. - Honolulu Star Advertiser

Jashaun Corbin ran for three touchdowns while Jordan Travis threw for two TDs and ran for another as Florida State snapped a three-game skid with a 56-35 win over Duke on Saturday. Travis threw for 192 yards and two TD passes to Ja'Khi Douglas, as Florida State (3-6, 2-6 Atlantic Coast Conference) won following a 28-day layoff that was prompted by two game postponements and a rescheduled matchup with Duke. The Seminoles are 21-0 in the all-time series vs. Duke.

Mataeo Durant ran for 127 yards, including a 64-yard touchdown, for Duke (2-9, 1-9). The Blue Devils ran 51 times for 245 yards but tossed three interceptions and managed just 148 yards passing. Duke has allowed 56, 56, 48 and 56 points in its last four games, all losses. Corbin had 16 carries for 72 yards and two of his three touchdowns came out of the wildcat formation. Florida State ran for 324 yards on 43 carries. Hamsah Nasirildeen, Travis Jay and Brendan Gant had interceptions for the Seminoles. - Florida State/AP College Football

As the Kansas football offense looks to rebound from a disappointing 2020 season, it will have to do so without receiver Andrew Parchment. Any hopes the Jayhawks had of bringing Parchment back for an extra senior year officially vanished on Friday, as the 6-foot-2 wideout announced via his social media accounts that he entered the NCAA's transfer portal. Parchment, who joined the Jayhawks as a junior college transfer in the spring of 2019, thanked head coach Les Miles and receivers coach and passing game coordinator Emmett Jones for giving him "the opportunity to play for an amazing university and represent the Kansas Jayhawks." According to Parchment, discussions with his family led him to part ways with KU, enter the portal and play one more year of college football elsewhere in 2021. In his first season with the Jayhawks, Parchment emerged as the offense's breakout star. He caught 65 passes for 831 yards in 2019, and scored seven touchdowns as KU's No. 1 receiver. - KU Sports

  12/11/20 - Kayden LylesrSr/2023, Florida State, 6-2, 315 (DS#999 C) + More +

The injury Kayden Lyles suffered against Indiana likely will force Wisconsin's starting center to miss the remainder of the 2020 season. "I think that is probable," UW offensive coordinator/line coach Joe Rudolph said during a Zoom session Wednesday. "He won't be back most likely in the next couple weeks for sure." The Badgers (2-2) close the regular season Saturday at Iowa (5-1) and then could play Minnesota during the league's Champions Week. A potential bowl game is to be determined. Lyles, a redshirt junior who started the first four games, suffered a right leg injury on UW's second series in the loss to Indiana. - Journal Sentinel

  12/04/20 - McKenzie MiltonrSr/2022, Florida State, 5-11, 194 (DS#29 QB) + More +

Milton's name dots the UCF record books, with the redshirt senior ranked fourth in school history with 8,683 passing yards and 72 passing touchdowns. He's third all-time in total offense with 9,761 yards. Heupel said he has been inspired by Milton's perseverance. "You look back to where it started - the injury on the field - at that point you were hoping he would be able to keep his leg," Heupel added. "It's a story of faith. It's a story of the human spirit. I think it's remarkable where it started and where it is currently. "The best part of that story is that it's not done yet. The complete story hasn't been written. The next hurdle was to be able to walk normally and to live a normal life. Now you're talking about him getting back on the field and competing at the highest level."

Milton is graciously handing the Knights over Gabriel, emphasizing competing against each other would not be fair to either quarterback. "It's DG's team now - I feel like the torch is passed. He's gonna take it to a whole 'nother level," he said. Milton has one year of eligibility left, including the one-time waiver by the NCAA this season for playing during the COVID-19 pandemic. His decision immediately sparked speculation about his future potential destination, with Miami and Florida both linked to the former Heisman candidate. - Orlando Sentinel

UCF quarterback McKenzie Milton has spent two years working to achieve what seemed to be an impossible dream. Despite numerous surgeries and a grueling recovery marked by encouraging wins and devastating setbacks, he was determined to play competitive football again. To realize that dream, Milton announced he is leaving the UCF program and transferring in an effort to play competitive football elsewhere. The Hawaiian quarterback who led earned the affection of UCF fans while leading the team to a Peach Bowl win over Auburn, opted not to compete with his best friend, prolific Knights starting quarterback Dillon Gabriel, as he pushes to play his final year of college football. - Orlando Sentinel

Samuel, the son of former UCF and NFL standout Asante Samuel, played at powerhouse Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas before signing with FSU. He picked FSU over Miami, bought into former coach Willie Taggart's system and most recently was one of the few bright spots for a talented defense that struggled during coach Mike Norvell's first season. Samuel was known for being vocal in practice and banding together with fellow class of 2018 recruits, known as Tribe18, trying to set higher expectations for the program. Samuel has 30 tackles, six passes defended and three interceptions during eight games this season. He has 97 career tackles, 29 passes defended and four interceptions during three seasons. - Orlando Sentinel
