  WEEK 7 BIG SKY OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Caden Pinnick, UC Davis (QB, R-Fr., Loomis, Calif.),...For the second-straight week Caden Pinnick threw for over 300 yards on his way to leading No. 6 UC Davis to a 45-24 victory over No. 14 Northern Arizona, moving the Aggies to 3-0 in Big Sky play. Pinnick finished the night completing 25-of-29 passes for 348 yards and five passing touchdowns. The five passing touchdowns were the most thrown by an Aggie in a single game since 2018. The 86.2% completion percentage marks the second-straight week the freshman has completed at least 80% of his passes in a game. On the national stage, Pinnick's five passing touchdowns are tied for the second most in the FCS this season. Pinnick's 243.9 passing efficiency is the highest of the season in the Big Sky for a single game and ranks as the 13th highest of the season in the FCS. Pinnick has now won conference weekly honors three times this season, all coming in consecutive weeks. The three-straight offensive weekly honors are the most for a Big Sky player since Dalton Sneed won three consecutive honors during the 2019 season.   Freshman Caden Pinnick threw three of his season-high five touchdown passes in the fourth quarter and UC Davis pulled away for a 45-24 victory over Northern Arizona on Saturday night. Hunter Ridley kicked a 42-yard field goal midway through the first quarter to put UC Davis (5-1, 3-0 Big Sky Conference), ranked No. 6 in the FCS coaches poll, up 3-0. Ty Pennington connected with Kolbe Katsis for a 20-yard touchdown on the final play of the quarter and Northern Arizona (4-3, 1-2) took a 7-3 lead. Pinnick fired a 31-yard touchdown pass to Samuel Gbatu Jr. midway through the second quarter and the Aggies took a 10-7 lead into halftime.

Jordan Fisher scored on a 59-yard run two plays into the third quarter to push the Aggies' lead to 10, but Quran Gossett answered with a 7-yard scoring run to cut it to 17-14. Pinnick fired a 50-yard scoring strike to Carter Vargas for a 10-point advantage, but Samuel Hunsaker's field goal cut it to 24-17 heading to the fourth quarter. Pinnick hit Gbatu for a 4-yard score before adding touchdown throws to Stacy Dobbins and Mitchell Dixon covering 10 and 7 yards, respectively, to help the Aggies pull away. Pinnick completed 25 of 29 passes for a season-high 348 yards. Gbatu had seven receptions for 114 yards and Fisher added 104 yards on 14 rushes. Pennington totaled 245 yards on 18-for-28 passing for the Lumberjacks. Isaiah Eastman had eight catches for 135 yards. Gossett carried eight times for 66 yards and two scores. - AP College Football

  WEEK 6 BIG SKY CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Caden Pinnick, UC Davis (QB, R-Fr., Loomis, Calif),...Caden Pinnick had the best night of his young career in the 34-27 win over Cal Poly for No. 7 UC Davis. The redshirt freshman led the offense all night, including scoring 14 points in the fourth quarter that allowed the Aggies to pull away from their rivals to retain the Golden Horseshoe. Pinnick went 21-for-26 for 313 yards and tossed three touchdowns, while adding 60 yards on the ground and another score to finish the night with 373 total yards of offense and four touchdowns. Pinnick recorded career-highs in completion percentage (80%), total yards (373), passing yards (313) and total touchdowns (4) in the win over Cal Poly. The weekly honors are the second of the year for Pinnick.   Caden Pinnick threw two touchdown passes, Jordan Fisher and Carter Vargas both ran for two scores and UC Davis pulled away in the second half to beat Southern Utah 50-34 Saturday night. Pinnick connected with Mitchell Dixon for an 8-yard touchdown and Vargas added touchdown runs of 23 and 47 yards as the Aggies (2-1) turned a two-point lead midway through the third quarter into a 50-27 advantage with 9:29 left to play.

Zach Jones ran 11 yards for a score and Pinnick hit tight end Winston Williams for a 10-yard touchdown and a 14-0 lead. Bronson Barron connected with Gabe Nunez for a 28-yard touchdown to cut it to 14-7 after one quarter and then hit Braedon Wissler for a 15-yard score to tie it 14-14 with 7:01 left in the second. Fisher scored on a 6-yard run and Dylan Mauro ran in the two-point conversion to put UC Davis up 22-14 with six minutes left in the half.   WEEK 1 BIG SKY DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Rex Connors, UC Davis (DB, Sr., Pleasant Grove, Utah),...Big Sky Preseason MVP Rex Connors officially opened his season with another big performance, as he led UC Davis to a 31-24 comeback win over Utah Tech. The senior racked up 15 tackles, with eight being solos, and one pass breakup. Connors called all the defensive plays on the night, as he aided in stopping the Utah Tech offense in five consecutive drives to close out the comeback win. The weekly honor is the first for Connors since winning it twice in 2022. With the 15 tackles, Connors now sits 12 tackles away from hitting a mark of 291 career tackles which will set the career program record for total tackles.   WEEK 1 FCS NATIONAL FRESHMAN PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Caden Pinnick, UC Davis, QB, R-Fr., 6-0, 200,...Pinnick's strong performance against Mercer in Week 0 was wiped out when inclement weather caused the game to be declared a "no contest," so he went out and threw three touchdown passes as UC Davis scored the final 24 points of a 31-24 win at Utah Tech. Pinnick, who has replaced 2024 FCS passing yardage leader Miles Hastings, finished 21 of 31 for 253 yards and one interception.
