Backup Brock Thomas threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to Gernorris Wilson early in the fourth that put No. 6 Oregon up 21-0. Moore was 9 of 15 for 86 yards.   Texas Football   In the midst of No. 22 Texas' comeback overtime win at Mississippi State on Saturday, questions now persist about Longhorn quarterback Arch Manning's health. Manning scrambled for 13 yards on the first play of overtime but then left the field with an apparent upper-body injury. Backup quarterback Matthew Caldwell entered and threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Emmett Mosley for the 45-38 win.

Texas coach Steve Sarkisian did not immediately provide an update on Manning, but he was impressed with Caldwell's ability to make a big play to win the game. "I think his rapport with Arch was a big part of it. They have a great relationship," Sarkisian said of Caldwell. "What a moment for that guy to step in and make that throw." Manning overcame some tough moments throughout the game and helped bring the Longhorns (6-2, 3-1 Southeastern Conference) back from a 17-point, fourth-quarter deficit. He finished 29 of 46 for 346 yards, three touchdowns and one interception and rushed for another score. The Bulldogs (4-4, 0-4 SEC) put plenty of hits on the redshirt sophomore as they had five. They also had a costly roughing the passer penalty on an incomplete pass on fourth-and-1 that would eventually lead to a Longhorn touchdown. - AP College Football

Grambling took a 16-10 lead with the only score of the third quarter - Teasett's 16-yard touchdown run -then upped its advantage to 13 on Teasett's 26-yard touchdown pass to Frazier with 12:06 remaining.   Monmouth Football   Rodney Nelson set career highs with 233 yards rushing and four touchdowns, Israel Clark-White had a key interception late, and Monmouth beat Hampton 28-10 on Saturday for its fifth straight win. Nelson scored on 5- and 3-yard runs to cap long scoring drives between the first and second quarters, and his 1-yard TD run ended another long drive for Monmouth to stretch its lead to 21-10 with 9:36 left in the fourth.

On the ensuing series, Braden Davis lead Hampton near midfield before Clark-White's pick ended the drive. The FCS ninth-ranked Hawks (7-1, 4-0 Coastal Athletic Association) then chewed up more than five minutes before Nelson scored his last TD from 6-yards out. Monmouth was without Derek Robertson, who has 2,439 yards passing and 27 touchdowns on the season, due to an injury. Backup Frankie Weaver was 14 of 25 for 122 yards with an interception in his collegiate debut as a starter.   Alabama Football   Germie Bernard scored two touchdowns in the final 2 1/2 minutes, and No. 4 Alabama rallied to beat South Carolina 29-22 on Saturday for its seventh straight win. Ty Simpson threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns and DeShawn Jones returned an interception 18 yards for a score for the Crimson Tide (7-1, 5-0 Southeastern Conference). LaNorris Sellers threw for 222 yards and a touchdown and ran for 67 yards and another score for South Carolina (3-5, 1-5), but had a costly fumble late which led to the winning TD. The Tide trailed 22-14 late in the fourth quarter, but drove 79 yards on 14 plays with Simpson finding Bernard for a 4-yard touchdown pass in the left corner of the end zone with 2:16 to play.

Simpson then connected with Josh Cuevas, who caught a TD pass earlier in the game, for the 2-point conversion to tie the game. On the ensuing drive, linebacker Deontae Lawson stripped Sellers, giving Simpson and the offense the ball at the South Carolina 38. On a third-and-10 play, Bernard took a direct snap and raced around right end and stayed inbounds for a 25-yard touchdown with 34 seconds left. Alabama took a 7-3 lead in the second quarter after Sellers' pass in the flat bounced off the hands of running back Rahsul Faison and into the arms of Jones, who raced down the left sideline for a score. Mistakes haunted the Gamecocks in the first half. Along with the mishandled catch by Faison, a holding penalty negated a 15-yard TD run by Sellers. Another holding call ended a potential touchdown drive and the Gamecocks also missed a field goal. Despite the errors, South Carolina only trailed 14-6 at halftime. The Gamecocks scored the next 16 points. Nyck Harbor got behind the defense and hauled in a 54-yard touchdown strike. Sellers then used a series of runs to get South Carolina into Alabama territory and William Joyce connected on a 47-yard field goal to give the Gamecocks a 15-14 lead late in the third quarter. The Gamecocks gained full momentum when they recovered a punt that hit off an Alabama player at the Tide 30. Sellers cashed in a few plays later when he raced around left end for a 10-yard touchdown to give South Carolina a 22-14 lead with 10 minutes left. - Alabama/AP College Football

Cincinnati Football   Brendan Sorsby threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score to help No. 21 Cincinnati beat Baylor 41-20 on Saturday. The Bearcats (7-1, 5-0 Big 12) have won seven straight for the first time since 2021 when they reached the College Football Playoff. Baylor (4-4, 2-3) trailed 24-0 late in the first half, then cut it to 27-20 early in the fourth quarter behind two touchdown passes and a rushing TD by Sawyer Robertson. Sorsby's 23-yard TD run capped a 12-play, 75-yard drive that took more than seven minutes to make it 34-20 with six minutes left. It was Sorsby's fourth TD run of 20 or more yards this season. Cincinnati started fast again Saturday.

The Bears got a third-down stop on the Bearcats' first possession, but a pass-interference penalty gave Cincinnati a first down. A 1-yard touchdown run by Tawee Walker capped an 81-yard drive to put the Bearcats ahead 7-0. After a sack on third down resulted in a Baylor punt, Cincinnati drove 66 yards in 10 plays and Evan Pryor's 5-yard TD run made the score 14-0. Josh Cameron's catch and fumble for the game's first turnover led to Sorsby's 6-yard TD pass to Cyrus Allen that made it 24-0 with 2:34 left in the half. - Cincinnati/AP College Football

Ryan Niblett returned a punt 79 yards to tie the game with 1:47 to play in regulation as Texas erased a 31-14 halftime deficit. The Longhorns (6-2, 3-1 Southeastern Conference) still trailed 38-21 with 12:29 remaining in the game when Davon Booth had a 62-yard catch and run for a touchdown for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs (4-4, 0-4) were led quarterback Blake Shapen, who had a career game and finished 26 of 42 for 381 yards and four touchdowns.   Texas Tech Football   J'Koby Williams returned the opening kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown and took a short pass 26 yards for a score on Texas Tech's first play, jump-starting the No. 14 Red Raiders' 42-0 victory over Oklahoma State on Saturday. Jacob Rodriguez returned a fumble 69 yards for a TD as Texas Tech (7-1, 4-1 Big 12) bounced back from its first loss, a 26-22 defeat at 24th-ranked Arizona State that dropped the Red Raiders out of the top 10. It was Texas Tech's first home Big 12 shutout since beating Baylor 28-0 in 2005. After lightning delayed the start for 30 minutes, Williams' return came on the first kickoff since school officials banned the yearslong tradition of fans throwing tortillas on kickoffs. The Red Raiders were penalized twice on kickoffs in their previous home game for objects thrown on the field in violation of a rule the Big 12 approved in August.

Texas Tech blocked a punt on the first possession for the Cowboys (1-7, 0-5), leading to Williams' TD on a screen from Will Hammond, who started a second consecutive game in place of the injured Behren Morton. Third-stringer Mitch Griffis replaced Hammond in the second quarter after Hammond appeared to injure his lower right leg on a run. Morton changed from street clothes to his uniform at halftime but only had to watch as Griffis threw a touchdown pass and ran for a score in the third quarter. Oklahoma State was limited to 182 yards in a seventh consecutive loss since beating lower-division Tennessee-Martin in the opener. The Cowboys have three shutout losses of at least 42 points since 2022. Rodriguez's 11th career fumble recovery - second among active FBS players - never touched the ground. The senior linebacker ripped the ball out of the arms of Sesi Vailahi in the middle of the line of scrimmage and ran untouched for the score. - Texas Tech/AP College Football

Brigham Young Football   BYU safety Faletau Satuala returned an interception for a touchdown to help 11th-ranked BYU pull away in the fourth quarter, and the Cougars stayed unbeaten with a 41-27 win over Iowa State on Saturday. Bear Bachmeier threw for 307 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another, and Chase Roberts and Parker Kingston each had over 100 yards receiving for BYU. Iowa State's Rocco Becht threw three interceptions, the last one coming with 1:14 left and allowing BYU to run out the clock. BYU (8-0, 5-0 Big 12) drove 79 yards in the third quarter to take its first lead, converting two fourth downs before Bachmeier dashed 9 yards up the middle for a touchdown.

After Iowa State (5-3, 2-3) tied it 27-all, BYU looked as if it would go three and out on its ensuing possession. As the Cougars were preparing to down the punt, the ball touched Iowa State's Eli Green and BYU recovered. Three plays later Bachmeier, under pressure, threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to Kingston. It was 41-27 less than a minute later when safety Satuala, who made a game-high 10 tackles, pulled a short pass away from Gabe Burkle and ran it back 40 yards for a touchdown. Bachmeier led the Cougars in rushing with 12 carries for 49 yards. Kingston had seven catches for 133 yards and two touchdowns, all career highs, and Roberts caught eight balls for 128 yards.   Texas Tech Football   Will Hammond exited No. 14 Texas Tech's game against Oklahoma State on Saturday with an apparent injury, prompting injured starting quarterback Behren Morton to change from street clothes to his uniform at halftime in case he was needed to finish the game. Morton was still on the sideline when third-stringer Mitch Griffis threw for a touchdown and ran for score in the third quarter to push the Red Raiders' lead to 42-0. Hammond appeared in injure his lower right leg on a run in the second quarter. There was no announcement from Texas Tech.

It was the second consecutive start for Hammond in place of Morton, who re-injured his right knee in a victory over Kansas on Oct. 11. Hammond started Texas Tech's first loss, 26-22 at No. 24 Arizona State last week. Hammond had a 26-yard touchdown pass to J'Koby Williams on a screen. Griffis' first play was a 3-yard loss on a fourth-and-1 keeper, but he threw a 42-yard TD pass to Caleb Douglas on Texas Tech's first possession of the second half.   Vanderbilt Football   Diego Pavia dove across the goal line for a 1-yard touchdown with 1:52 left as No. 10 Vanderbilt beat 15th-ranked Missouri 17-10 Saturday to extend the Commodores' best start in more than 80 years. Vanderbilt improved to 7-1 overall (3-1 Southeastern Conference) putting the Commodores a win off the 1941 squad that started 8-1. They came in with the highest ranking since 1947 playing before a second straight sellout crowd and snapped a five-game skid to the Tigers. CJ Heard set up the winning drive for Vanderbilt by recovering a fumble by Jamal Roberts with 7:02 left. The finish didn't come without plenty of drama. Sedrick Alexander initially was ruled by officials to have fumbled at the 1 only to be overturned upon review with 1:49 left. Pavia finished the drive on the next play. No. 15 Missouri (6-2, 2-2) lost quarterback Beau Pribula early in the third quarter when he hurt his left ankle on fourth-and-goal.

Trainers placed his ankle in an air cast and carted him off the field. Freshman Matt Zollers, who threw a 6-yard TD pass to Jude James early in the fourth to tie it at 10, tried to tie it once more. He threw to Kevin Coleman Jr. as time expired and was ruled an incompletion. After review, officials said Coleman caught the ball short of the goal line. Makhilyn Young put Vandy up 10-3 lead late in the third with an 80-yard touchdown run. Missouri has dominated this series since joining the SEC in 2012. With two of top scoring offenses in the country, these teams scrapped to a 3-3 halftime tie. Vanderbilt came in eighth-best, averaging 41.4 points a game, with Missouri 12th managing 39 a game. A kicking penalty on Missouri left guard Dominick Giudice erased a 20-yard run by Pribula down to the Vandy 1. Robert Meyer put Missouri up 3-0 with 5:11 left in the first half. Meyer missed a 29-yard field goal wide left in the third. Brock Taylor, who hasn't missed since a double overtime loss last season at Missouri, tied it up with a 38-yard field goal with 2:00 left in the first half. That came after Vanderbilt had first-and-goal at the Missouri 8 before a holding penalty and a false start. - Vanderbilt/AP College Football

Oklahoma Football   Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer hasn't been the same since having surgery on his right hand. The Washington State transfer got off to a hot start this season, creating buzz and being mentioned as a Heisman contender. He was injured against Auburn and played through it, even running for the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter of a victory that gave the Sooners a 4-0 start and vaulted them into the AP Top 10. Mateer had surgery on the throwing hand during Oklahoma's off week, then sat out the win over Kent State. He returned for the showdown against Texas on Oct. 11, but he had the worst game of his career and threw three interceptions in a loss. He limited mistakes in a win against South Carolina last week as the running game carried the load. Mateer had some good moments Saturday against No. 8 Mississippi, and the 13th-ranked Sooners drove for a chance to tie late before missing a desperation pass in the final seconds.

But he acknowledged that he wasn't as sharp as he needed to be in the 34-26 loss Saturday. "I emphasize in practice throwing the ball down the field, and then I just missed," he said. "Can't happen in that situation. It's something I've got to learn from, something I have to be better at. Period. Got to be better." Mateer completed 17 of 31 passes for 223 yards and a touchdown and ran 13 times for 17 yards against the Ole Miss. The missed throws were unusual enough to prompt questions about his recovery. He said throwing the ball feels the same as it did before the surgery. The results haven't been the same. In his first four games, he completed 67.4% of his passes and averaged 279 yards passing. In the three games since his return, he has completed 58% of his passes, is averaging 192 yards passing, and the Sooners are 1-2. In his first four games, he had 43 carries for 190 yard and five touchdowns. Since then, he has 35 carries for 36 yards and hasn't scored. Oklahoma coach Brent Venables said Mateer is still healing. "He's practiced well, he's thrown with good accuracy, and he's made good decisions," Venables said. "I do think that's still a process of getting completely and fully healed. But I'm not sure if he has the limitations or not. Again, his velocity is good, his accuracy has been really good. So I haven't seen the limitations at practice." - AP College Football
