Chuba Hubbard might be alone more than he expected since his recent return to Oklahoma State's campus. He's sticking to his routine - an early workout, breakfast and then homework - and then a free day. Often, he walks around campus. "I just try to fill in that space with something new," Hubbard said. Boredom often rules the day of a closed college campus due to the coronavirus pandemic. But for nearly the entire past two months campus was closed and spring football was shuttered, Hubbard was elsewhere. He was building for his future staying with a former teammate in Baltimore. "You guys probably know him," Hubbard said Wednesday in a Zoom call following the announcement that he won the Cornish Trophy. "Justice."

In a time where Hubbard's spring preparations for what's likely his final season as a Cowboy were stunted, he turned to a former teammate and friend for guidance. Hubbard and fellow Canadian teammate Amen Ogbongbemiga headed east to Baltimore and stayed with former OSU star and current Ravens running back Justice Hill. There, Hill helped prepare Hubbard more for the NFL life. They quarantined from the rest of the world. They worked out. They bonded. "Pretty much doing what we're supposed to be doing in quarantine," Hubbard said. "J-Hill helped me out with a lot of stuff, actually," Hubbard said. "Trust me, he helped me out with a lot of stuff. I can't tell y'all. Y'all got to see on the field, but he gave me some tips and stuff, so I'm excited." - Daily Oklahoman
