  2023 CAA FOOTBALL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Dylan Laube, New Hampshire,...Laube led the FCS in all-purpose yardage for the second consecutive season with 2,095 yards in 10 games. The versatile senior ranked third nationally in kickoff return average (31.1 ypr) and 16th in punt return average (11.2 ypr), which included a 100-yard kickoff return for a TD vs. Delaware and a 58-yard punt return for a TD vs. Stonehill.   2022 ALL-CAA FOOTBALL FIRST TEAM: Dylan Ruiz, New Hampshire, DL, So.,...Ruiz is No. 5 in the nation in sacks (1.00 per game) as well as 37th in tackles for loss (1.2 per game); those numbers ranks second in the CAA in sacks and fifth in tackles for loss. He has a team-leading 11 sacks and ranks second with 13.5 tackles for loss. Ruiz ranks second in total tackles and assisted tackles (22), as well as tied for second in solo tackles (30). His other stats include a team-leading seven quarterback hurries and a forced fumble.

Ruiz has sacked the quarterback in 7 of 11 games this season and recorded multiple sacks in a game three times, including a career high of three at Towson. He finished with 2.5 sacks against Elon University and two vs. Stony Brook University. Ruiz elevated his play the last two weeks of the regular season. He made a career-high 11 tackles, including 3.15 for loss with one sack, and two quarterback hurries Nov. 19 at Maine.   2022 ALL-CAA FOOTBALL SECOND TEAM: Dylan Laube, New Hampshire, RB, Jr.,...Laube is atop the UNH leaderboard in rushes (199), rushing yards (1,000), rushing yards per game, rushing touchdowns, total TDs, all-purpose yards (1,792), all-purpose yards per game, kickoff return yards (248), kickoff return average (31.0), punt returns (15), punt return yards (225) and punt return average. He ranks second on the team in receptions (40) and is third in receiving yards (319). Laube is UNH's first 1,000-yard rusher since 2016, when Dalton Crossan finished with 1,281.   2022 ALL-CAA FOOTBALL THIRD TEAM: Dylan Laube, New Hampshire, KR, Jr.,...Laube topped 100 rushing yards four times this season with a career-high 202 yards and three touchdowns Game 2 at UAlbany and 190 rushing yards and three TDs in the regular-season finale at Maine. He surpassed 200 all-purpose yards three times with a season high of 281 at Maine in addition to 250 at Towson and 202 at UAlbany. During the season, Laube was a two-time CAA Offensive Player of the Week and was named Special Team Player of the Week once.   Dylan Laube ran for three touchdowns and pulled in an 87-yard touchdown pass to lead New Hampshire to a 52-42 win over Fordham in a first-round game in the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs on Saturday. The win sends the Wildcats into a second-round matchup December 3 with undefeated Patriot League champion Holy Cross, ranked No. 6. Max Brosmer dumped a short pass to Laube on the Wildcats' second play from scrimmage and the running back won a foot race to the corner, then raced down the sideline for an 87-yard touchdown - high-fiving his blocking back at the 20 on his way to the end zone. Brosmer hit Sean Coyne for a short touchdown and connected with Heron Maurisseau on a 65-yard score to put New Hampshire up 21-7 after one quarter.

Maurisseau added a 71-yard run for a touchdown on the opening play of the second half and Laube's third rushing touchdown, an 18-yard burst with 4:10 left pushed the lead to 52-34. Brosmer was 18 of 34 passing for 351 yards and three touchdowns. Laube carried 29 times for 157 yards. Fordham's Tim DeMorat threw for 330 yards, completing 25 of 41 attempts, with three touchdowns but was picked off on back-to-back possessions in the first half. Fotis Kokosioulis had two short touchdowns for the Rams and caught 14 passes for 132 yards.   Dylan Laube ran for three touchdowns and New Hampshire picked up a share of its first Colonial Athletic Association title since 2014 by holding off rival Maine in overtime, 42-41 Saturday to win the Border Battle rivalry game. The Black Bears, who tied the game with 3:11 left in regulation when Elijah Barnwell punched in from the 2-yard line, scored on Joe Fagnano's 19-yard touchdown pass to Rohan Jones in their half of the first overtime period. Maine opted to go for the outright win with a two-point conversion, but Fagnano's pass to Freddie Brock fell incomplete.

New Hampshire (8-3, 7-1) finished the regular season tied with William & Mary, which knocked off Richmond 37-26 Saturday to finish 7-1 in conference. The Tribe claims the CAA's automatic berth into the FCS playoffs on a tiebreaker. The Wildcats now await an at-large berth when the tournament field is announced Sunday. UNH has not reached the FCS playoffs since 2017. Barnwell finished with 143 yards on 20 carries and scored three touchdowns for the Black Bears (2-9, 2-6). Zavier Scott gained 108 yards on nine carries and Fagnano ran for 79 yards on a dozen carries. Laube was the New Hampshire workhorse, carrying 30 times for 190 yards and three touchdowns, including a 48-yard run in the third quarter to give New Hampshire a 28-14 lead. The return was the longest in FCS this season and the 2nd-longest in CAA history. Laube finished the game with 250 all-purpose yards, which included a team-best 114 yards rushing.
