  Jalynn Williams rushed for two touchdowns, including the go-ahead score with 2:53 left to play, and Western Carolina rallied late to defeat Wofford 36-29 on Saturday. Ryan Ingram's 2-yard touchdown run 57 seconds into the final quarter gave Wofford a 29-26 lead. Richard McCollum's 19-yard field goal capped a nine-play, 60-yard drive and pulled Western Carolina (4-5, 2-4 Southern Conference) into a 29-all tie with 6:55 remaining. The Catamounts defense forced a three-and-out and Landon Parker's 28-yard punt gave Western Carolina a first-and-10 on the Terriers' 40-yard line, setting up Williams' game-winning score. Wofford (2-7, 2-4) led 14-12 at halftime after Jimmy Weirick connected with freshman Kyle Pinnix for a 13-yard touchdown with 4 seconds left in the second quarter. Western Carolina's Carlos Davis completed 16 of 24 passes for 268 yards with touchdown throws to Raphael Williams covering 73 yards and an 8-yarder to freshman Censere Lee. Davis also rushed 15 times for 78 yards. Freshman Desmond Reid carried 20 times for 112 yards.   Carlos Davis threw four touchdown passes and the Western Carolina defense came up with four turnovers for a 38-17 win over VMI on Saturday. Davis found four different receivers and was 30-of-44 passing for 336 yards with two interceptions. Raphael Williams had six catches for 103 yards, including a 69-yard connection for the final touchdown early in the fourth quarter. Jalynn Williams hauled in 10 passes for 94 yards. It was the 100th win for Western Carolina coach Kerwin Bell, the former Florida coach who also won a Division II national title coaching at Valdosta State. The Catamounts (3-2, 1-1 Southern Conference) came into the game with a nation-leading 17 sacks and hauled down Keydet quarterbacks seven times to go with a pair of interceptions and two fumble recoveries.   Carlos Davis threw a school record six touchdowns and Western Carolina raced past Charleston Southern 52-38 in an opener on Saturday. Davis was 28 of 36 for 433 yards. It's tied for the second most yards in school history as David Rivers threw for 474 yards in 2000 and Don Dalton had 433 in 1969. Davis also had two interceptions. His touchdown passes were to five different receivers, including a 72-yarder to Censere Lee to help the Catamounts open a 31-17 halftime lead. He opened the third quarter with a 53-yard connection to David White.

Ross Malmgren threw five touchdown passes, going 30 of 45 for 392 yards but was sacked six times and threw an interception for Charleston Southern. Malmgren entered the game with three touchdown passes, one interception and 297 career yards. Raphael Williams had 10 receptions for 112 yards and Seth Anders had two touchdowns among his eight catches for 131 yards. Both teams face daunting tasks next weekend with Western Carolina going to Georgia Tech and Charleston Southern playing at No. 13 North Carolina State. - Western Carolina/AP College Football

  Carlos Davis passed for a career-high 401 yards and three touchdowns, TJ Jones ran for 132 and two scores and Western Carolina beat The Citadel 45-31 on Saturday. The Catamounts (1-6, 1-3 Southern Conference) led 31-10 at halftime as Davis found Calvin Jones for seven yards, TJ Jones for 40 and Raphael Williams for 10. The Bulldogs (2-5, 1-3) answered with a pair of touchdowns, the first coming after Western Carolina turned it over on its own 3, to close within a touchdown. Then TJ Jones, a transfer from Tusculum, scored on runs of 30 and 43 yards as the Catamounts regained control. Williams had 12 receptions for a career-high 147 yards for Western Carolina. Jaylan Adams and Darique Hampton combined for 197 yards passing for The Citadel with Raleigh Webb making four catches for a career-high 144 yards. - AP College Football
