  Nolan Grooms fired five yards to Jackson Hawes with 6:29 left in the game to lift Yale to a 19-14 win over Harvard on Saturday in the 138th meeting of the second-longest rivalry in college football. The Bulldogs won the Ivy League championship in the process after Penn knocked off Princeton 20-19. Yale captured its third Ivy League title in the last five seasons, capturing the outright title in 2017 and a share of the championship in 2019. The Bulldogs came into the game with three straight wins, including a thrilling, 24-20 win over previously unbeaten Princeton.

The Yale ground game, the best in the Ivy League and the eighth-ranked rushing offense in the FCS, ran for 219 yards. Joshua Pitsenberger had 82 yards on 21 carries, Tre Peterson carried 13 times for 74 yards and a touchdown and Grooms added 63 yards on 15 carries. Harvard's Charlie Dean threw for two touchdowns, hitting Scott Woods II from 64-yards out to tie the game at 7-7 in the second quarter and connecting with Tyler Neville on a 24-yards touchdown early in the fourth quarter to put the Crimson in front, 14-13. But after Yale scored to retake the lead, the Crimson could not manage a first down. Yale leads the series 69-61-8, but since Ivy League play in 1956, Harvard leads 37-28-1. - AP College Football

  Nolan Grooms passed for a touchdown and ran for another in a 17-point third quarter and Yale handed Princeton its first defeat, 24-20, on Saturday. The victory denied Princeton (8-1, 5-1) the chance to at least clinch a share of its second straight Ivy League title and boosted Yale (7-2, 5-1) into a first-place tie. Princeton, ranked 16th in the FCS coaches poll, plays Penn, and Yale faces Harvard in next week's finales. Grooms threw a 14-yard scoring pass to Chase Nenad for a 14-all tie early in the third quarter, Jack Bosman's 44-yard field goal just cleared the crossbar for the lead and Groom's 19-yard run had Yale ahead 24-14 heading into the final quarter.

Stenstrom and Carson Bobo connected on a 22-yard score in the fourth quarter but the extra-point try was blocked. Brandon Benn picked off Stenstrom for the second time at the Yale 10 with 3:27 remaining. Princeton's final possession began with 1:35 left and ended at the Yale 15 with an incomplete pass into the end zone on the game's final play. Grooms rushed for 152 yards and Joshua Pitsenberger 108 more. Stenstrom was 34-of-52 passing for 367 yards with three TDs but also the two picks.   Nolan Grooms threw three touchdown passes and Yale scored twice after turnovers in a 35-point second quarter on its way to a 69-17 victory over Brown on Saturday. brown (3-5, 1-4 Ivy League) had turnovers on its final three first-half possessions. Two were turned into touchdowns, one on Reid Nickerson's strip of Aidan Gilman that Hamilton Moore returned 19 yards for a score and the other on Joseph Vaughn's 75-yard pick-6 with 22 seconds left in the half for a 52-3 lead. Grooms was 12-of-16 passing for 205 yards and the Bulldogs ran for 337 yards. Tre Peterson rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns, including a 53-yarder in the third quarter for a 66-3 lead.

Brown's Aidan Gilman, who was the league's offensive player of the week after a win over Penn last week, was 24-of-36 passing for 150 yards and two interceptions. Will Jarvis threw a touchdown pass to Wes Rockett in the final quarter. The last time the Bulldogs (6-2, 4-1) scored 60-plus points was in 2003 against Towson (62) and the 69 points were the most since 1930. The Yale record is 89 points against Vermont in 1929. The 69 points are the most given up in Brown history. Yale's win was its fifth in a row over the Bears. - AP College Football

  Nolan Grooms threw four touchdown passes and Yale beat Columbia 41-16 on Friday night. Yale (5-2, 3-1 Ivy League) bounced back from a 20-13 loss at Pennsylvania and has won five of its last six games. Grooms was 16-of-33 passing for 346 yards. Ryan Lindley had two touchdown catches and finished with six receptions for 100 yards. Chase Nenad had three catches for 117 yards and a score. Nendad made a one-handed, over-the-shoulder, 19-yard grab in the end zone to give Yale a 17-16 lead with 5:32 remaining in the second quarter. Grooms and Lindley connected for an 83-yard touchdown in the first quarter and again with a 10-yard TD early in the fourth. Caden Bell threw for 224 yards that included a 64-yard touchdown pass to JJ Jenkins for Columbia (3-4, 0-4). Joey Giorgi had a 13-yard touchdown run.   Quarterback Nolan Grooms rushed for three touchdowns and passed for another, and Yale overcame five turnovers to beat winless Bucknell 29-9 on Saturday. Yale led 7-3 at halftime after Grooms connected with David Pantelis for a 13-yard touchdown to cap a 97-yard drive. The Bulldogs' first drive of the second half ended with Grooms' 9-yard touchdown run. Grooms added a 14-yard touchdown and a 21-yarder to cap the scoring with 3:43 left in the fourth. Yale (4-1) won its fourth straight game. Bucknell (0-6) has lost 13 consecutive dating to last season. Grooms rushed for 95 yards and passed for 209 yards with four interceptions. Tre Peterson added 84 yards rushing. Bucknell took a 3-0 lead after Rushawn Baker's 75-yard run set up a 39-yard field goal by Matt Schearer. The Bison defense also forced punts on Yale's first three drives. Gavin Pringle grabbed Bucknell's fourth interception on the opening play of the fourth quarter. - AP College Football

  Nolan Grooms had 260 yards of total offense with a passing and rushing touchdown and Hamilton Moore's interception with 36 seconds left allowed Yale to hold off Dartmouth 24-21 on Saturday for its third straight victory. Grooms opened the second half with a 10-play, 96-yard drive ending in a 25-yard scoring pass to Mason Tipton. Tre Peterson added a 2-yard score on Yale's next possession to make it 24-7 with 6:42 left in the third quarter. Dylan Cadwallader led two fourth-quarter scoring drives for Dartmouth. He had a 7-yard TD run and a 23-yard passing connection with Paxton Scott to get within three points with 1:44 left. Yale went three-and-out to give Dartmouth another chance with 41 seconds left, but Moore sealed it with an interception. Grooms was 19 of 22 for 170 yards and he added 16 carries for 96 yards for Yale (3-1, 2-0 Ivy League). Peterson had 174 yards rushing with one touchdown. Cadwallader threw for 248 yards with two TDs and an interception for Dartmouth (1-3, 0-2).   Tre Peterson rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown, Nolan Grooms added 130 yards rushing and a score, and Yale beat Howard 34-26 on Saturday. Yale scored 17 unanswered points in the second quarter for a 17-3 lead. After Howard pulled within 27-20 with 5:02 left in the fourth quarter, Peterson broke loose for a 44-yard touchdown to build a two-touchdown lead. Joshua Pitsenberger added 87 yards, on nine carries, and a touchdown as Yale rushed for 366 yards. Grooms was also 10 of 24 for 111 yards passing with one touchdown and an interception. Yale (2-1) won its home debut despite turning it over three times. Quinton Williams completed 23 of 43 for 226 yards with two interceptions for Howard (1-4), which was coming off a 31-0 victory over Morehouse before a crowd of 35,042 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.   Nolan Grooms passed for 330 yards and three touchdowns, Spencer Alston rushed for two scores, and Yale beat Brown 63-38 on Saturday. It was Yale's most single-game points under head coach Tony Reno - with two touchdowns coming from the defense. Reno has been the coach at Yale since 2012. Clay Patterson hit Brown QB EJ Perry on a blitz to knock the ball loose and Noah Pope recovered it in the end zone for a two-touchdown lead late in the third quarter. First-year defensive back Sean Guyton returned an interception for a 60-yard touchdown - the second of his two picks. Melvin Rouse II caught five passes for 119 yards and a touchdown for Yale (5-3, 4-1 Ivy League). Darrion Carrington pulled down a pass and took it 65 yards for a score early in the third. Perry was 21-of-37 passing for 261 yards and three touchdowns for Brown (2-6, 1-4). Perry also scored on a 64-yard reception from Michael McGovern.   Nolan Grooms lofted a 10-yard go-ahead touchdown pass to Darrion Carrington in the back corner of the end zone, then completed a two-point conversion pass to Mason Tipton - all in steady rain - and Yale defeated Columbia 37-30 on Saturday. Grooms completed 20 of 29 passes for 29 yards with two third-quarter touchdowns as Yale (4-3, 3-1 Ivy League) rallied. Prior to his go-ahead score, Grooms passed nine yards to Spencer Alston as Yale closed to 23-22, again adding a two-point conversion pass. Grooms was three-for-three on two-point conversion tosses.

Alston carried 17 times for 116 yards and two more touchdowns. Melvin Rouse added an 86-yard punt return for a TD, third-longest such return in Yale history. The Bulldogs trailed by as many as 11 points in the first half before the comeback with three touchdowns in an 11-minute span of the third and fourth quarters. Columbia (5-2, 2-2) cut the gap to 37-30 on Ryan Young's third touchdown of the game with 9:01 remaining and saw a 14-play final drive end on downs with 1:39 left. Young carried 17 times for 92 yards for the Lions and Joe Green went 22-of-44 passing for 223 yards. The game saw the most combined points between Columbia and Yale. Grooms and Elliott McElwain each had a short rushing touchdown less than three minutes apart to extend Yale's lead to 21 points late in the third quarter. Mason Tipton caught five passes for 132 yards, with a long of 47, and a touchdown for Yale (3-3, 2-1 Ivy League). Ryan Lindley also had a touchdown receiving, and Spencer Alston had a rushing score. Tony Reno became the sixth coach in program history to reach 50 career wins with Yale. Aidan Sayin was 12 of 28 for 114 yards with two touchdown and one interception for Penn (2-4, 0-3). Isaiah Malcome rushed for 81 yards and a score, his forth straight game with a TD, and Trey Flowers also had a rushing TD. Sayin threw his first career touchdown pass to Owen Goldsberry, also his first scoring grab, for 15 yards to pull within 28-21 early in the third.
