  2022 ALL-BIG SKY THIRD TEAM: QB Jake Dunniway (SAC),...Dunniway repeated as a third team selection following a season where he completed 147-of-243 passes (.605) for 1,872 yards and 16 touchdowns. The senior tossed touchdown passes in the first 10 games of the season, including two or more in five contests. He is currently sixth in school history with 5,030 career passing yards, sixth in career completions (372), seventh in career attempts (603) and tied for seventh with 33 career touchdowns. - Sacramento State Football

  Jake Dunniway threw for three touchdowns, running quarterback Asher O'Hara rushed for three more and Sacramento State rolled past Eastern Washington 52-28 on Saturday night. The Hornets (6-0, 3-0 Big Sky Conference) matched their 1991 mark for the best start in school history. Sacramento State, which joined Division I in 1993, has not trailed this season and is ranked No. 5 in the FCS coaches poll. Sacramento State raced out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter on a 1-yard O'Hara run, Brock Mather's 22-yard interception return and a 37-yard pass from Dunniway to Cameron Skattebo.

The Eagles (1-5, 0-3) flew back with Gunner Talkington throwing two touchdown passes to Efton Chism III and a 15-yard run by Justice Jackson. Both Sac State quarterbacks did their thing after that and the Hornets led 35-21 at the half and the Eagles never challenged. Dunniway finished 9 of 14 for 113 yards with two interceptions. O'Hara was 4 for 5 and ran for 94 yards. The Hornets had 525 yards of offense, 385 on the ground, with Cameron Skattebo running for 201 and catching at TD pass. Talkington threw for 370 yards with Chism finishing with 129 yards receiving on nine receptions. All of the Eagles league losses have been to teams ranked in the top 10 and also has big losses to Oregon and Florida, both which have been ranked in the FCS at times this season. - Sacramento State/AP College Football

  2021 ALL-BIG SKY CONFERENCE THIRD TEAM (COACHES): QB: Jake Dunniway, Sac State,...Sacramento State added five selections on the third team. Quarterback Jake Dunniway shared time with O'Hara at the position but still managed to throw for 2,245 yards and 11 touchdowns with only three interceptions. In Big Sky play, Dunniway was second in the league with an efficiency rating of 158.2 and fifth with 223.8 passing yards per game. He was named the Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week after completing 21-of-25 passes for 328 yards and a TD against Northern Arizona. Overall, Dunniway had three 300-yard passing games, including 370 at Cal. He threw for multiple touchdown passes in four games. - Sacramento State Football

  Cameron Skattebo rushed for an 11-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter after Sacramento State recovered a fumble, and that was enough as the Hornets held off Northern Colorado 27-24 on Saturday. Sacramento State (6-2, 5-0 Big Sky), ranked No. 23 in the FCS coaches poll, moved into a tie atop the Big Sky standings with undefeated and sixth-ranked Montana State, which had a bye this week. Skattebo carried it 16 times for 111 yards and Jake Dunniway was 11 of 24 for 138 yards passing for Sacramento State. Asher O'Hara completed three of four passes for 33 yards with a two-yard touchdown toss to Marshel Martin that gave the Hornets a 10-0 lead with 1:06 left in the first quarter.

Kyle Sentkowski added field goals of 37 and 27 yards for the Hornets, who never trailed but were unable to break clear of Northern Colorado (3-6, 2-4). The Bears scored on a pair of Gene Sledge 1-yard runs, the second making it 17-14 early in the third quarter. Northern Colorado again cut the Sac State lead to three points when Dylan McCaffrey scored from the 1 with 3:11 remaining. The Hornets held the ball until there were 33 seconds left and Northern Colorado had no timeouts. McCaffrey threw for 232 yards and rushed for 19. Dylan Thomas caught four passes for 183 yards.   Jake Dunniway threw for 314 yards and two touchdowns in Sacramento State's 37-point first half and the Hornets went on to blank Northern Arizona 44-0 on Saturday night. Dunniway finished 21 of 35 for 382 yards. Backup Asher O'Hara added a touchdown pass and a touchdown run. Cameron Skattebo had 117 yards rushing and Marshel Martin had the same number receiving for the Hornets (5-2, 4-0 Big Sky). Parker Clayton caught both of Dunniway's TD passes in the Hornets' 34-point second quarter. O'Hara, Martin and Skattebo added touchdown runs in the explosive 15 minutes. RJ Martinez was 19-of-32 passing for 136 yards with an interception for NAU (3-4, 2-2). The Lumberjacks managed just 226 yards and 11 first downs.   Jake Dunniway threw three touchdown passes and Asher O'Hara, Sacramento State's other quarterback, ran for a score and the Hornets defeated Montana 28-21 on Saturday for their first road win over the Grizzlies. Dunniway and Jared Gipson had a pair of 24-yard scoring hookups in the third quarter, and Marcus Hawkins picked off Montana quarterback Kris Brown at the goal line as the teams traded turnovers on consecutive plays early in the fourth. The Hornets' Chris Miller scored the first touchdown on a 3-yard reception and O'Hara added a 2-yard run for a 14-6 lead at the half. After Gipson's first touchdown pass, Brown scored twice and with the help of a two-point conversion tied the game at 21. The Hornets (4-2, 3-0 Big Sky Conference), are 3-20 all-time against the Grizzlies, and they piled up 456 yards of offense, 302 through the air.   Kyle Sentkowski kicked three second-half field goals as Sacramento State overcame a 21-14 halftime deficit to pull out out a 23-21 victory over Idaho State in the Big Sky Conference opener for both teams Saturday. Jake Dunniway found Marcus Fulcher with a 60-yard touchdown pass with 47 seconds left in the first quarter to put Sacramento State in front, but Benjamin Omayebu knotted the game at 7-7, returning the Hornets' kick-off 99 yards for a score.

Lucas Triplet put Sac State back in front with a seven-yard pass to Asher O'Hara in the second quarter, capping a 12-play, 94-yard drive, but Omayebu answered with his second touchdown, hauling in a 29-yard pass from Tyler Vander Waal, and Hays Hunter put the Bengals on top, 21-14 with a 33-yard pass to Tanner Conner with 2:56 left in the first half. Sentkowski converted from 49-yards out early in the third quarter, then drilled a 27-yard field goal with 2:57 left in the quarter. His 40-yarder with 13:27 left capped the scoring.
