NOV 15 PAC-12 OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Rachaad White, RS Sr., RB, Arizona State (Kansas City, MO),...Second player to win this award back-to-back this season, with Utah's Cameron Rising taking it home in Week Six and Seven. It's the first time a Sun Devil has captured this honor in consecutive weeks...Willed his team to a 35-30 road victory over Washington in the pouring rain. With the Sun Devils trailing 24-14 in the fourth quarter, White and the Sun Devil offensive line took over. By the time they were done, ASU had a 35-24 lead, completely dominating the line of scrimmage down the stretch...White rushed for 184 yards on 32 carries, scoring a pair of touchdowns. He also added five catches for 53 yards as the leading receiver for the Sun Devils. Accounted for 237 of ASU's 376 total yards of offense (63%). Has recorded 100 all-purpose yards in nine of his 13 career games as a Sun Devil and eclipsed the 200-yard all-purpose mark for the second-straight game.

It is his fourth 100-yard rushing game of his career, with two coming in the last two games. He has combined to rush for 386 yards in the past two games. That's the most in a two-game span since Eno Benjamin had 432 over two games against Oregon State and Colorado in 2018. His 184 rushing yards are the seventh-best ever by a Sun Devil back in a road Pac-12 game...He now has 14 rushing touchdowns this season, moving him into a tie for 8th in ASU single season history. White has multiple touchdowns in eight of his 13 games played at Arizona State and at least one touchdown in 11 games. Also nominated: Dorian Thompson-Robinson, QB, UCLA; Chance Nolan, QB, Oregon State; Anthony Brown, QB, Oregon; Cameron Rising, QB, Utah. - Pac-12 Football

With rain pouring and several season goals slipping away, Arizona State put it in low gear Saturday night with a 20-play, 81-yard drive that consumed more than 9 minutes and almost all of problem-plagued Washington's resolve. By the time the drive was over the Sun Devils had reversed the momentum and erased a 14-point deficit against a team reeling from off-the-field problems. "I was so tired. I was looking at the D lineman look at me and I was acting like I wasn't tired," guard LaDarius Henderson said as he mimicked his fierce face. "But you've got to fight, you've got to finish." The Sun Devils ((7-3, 5-2 Pac-12) did just that as Jayden Daniels capped the drive with a 5-yard touchdown run to cut the lead to 24-21 midway through the fourth quarter. Rachaad White rushed for 184 yards and two scores and completed the comeback with a 10-yard touchdown run with 1:11 left. Merlin Robinson put the game away with a pick-6 with 37 seconds left.

Arizona State remains one game back in the Pac-12 South with two games to go, and will be relying on White to continue to carry the load. "(Coaches and teammates) look me in my eye and they understand where we're at at this point point in the season and what is going on," White said. "So, honestly, it felt great for me because I want to step up my game. They need me to be there for them and I need them to be there for me." Arizona State coach Herm Edwards said the team regained its footing while holding off USC for a 31-16 win last week after losing two in a row. It was a game that also was decided in the fourth quarter. "It says something about the team in the fourth quarter and having to do that two in a row," Edwards said. "It says a lot. I think last week's game was a game that they found their swagger again, playing at home against USC and it's a 17-16 game in the fourth quarter. And they didn't blink." - Arizona State/AP College Football

NOV 8 PAC-12 OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Rachaad White, RS Sr., RB, Arizona State (Kansas City, MO),...Delivered a historic performance in Arizona State's 31-16 victory over USC. White ran for a career-high 202 yards on only 28 carries (7.2 ypc), scoring three touchdowns on the ground. His rushing total was good for the third-most in the NCAA this week...It is the sixth-most rushing yards by a Sun Devil in a Pac-10/12 game (since 1978). He added two catches for 35 yards to give him 337 of ASU's 427 total yards of offense (78.9 percent)...White is the first player to rush for over 200 yards since Eno Benjamin's school record 312 yards against Oregon State in 2018. It was the 22nd instance of a Sun Devil rushing for over 200 yards in program history and the 16th individual to reach the milestone.   A fox ran onto the field at Sun Devil Stadium, leaped over a wall and scampered up the steps before hiding under a seat. It returned about a minute later around the 10-yard line, dodged a few workers and sprinted up a ramp out of site. Rachaad White made Southern California's defenders know how the workers felt with a foxy mix of power, speed and elusiveness. White became the sixth Arizona State player to run for 200 yards in a Pac-10/12 game, racking up 202 yards and three touchdowns Saturday night to help the Sun Devils bounce back from two ugly losses with 31-16 win over USC. "I hope that fox comes back," White said. "We need him." And the Sun Devils (6-2, 4-1 Pac-12) needed White after lackluster losses to Utah and Washington State.

Quarterback Jayden Daniels was mostly ineffective, throwing for 145 yards with two interceptions - both by Xavion Alford. White made up for it after missing last week's game with a right leg injury, racing off on two long touchdowns and a game-sealing short one in the closing minutes. "Three (White) was running and the offensive line was blocking well," Arizona State coach Herm Edwards said. USC (4-5, 3-3) alternated between Kedon Slovis and Jaxson Dart at quarterback - and neither could seem to get into a rhythm. Dart scored on a 9-yard run, but the Trojans had to settle for three Parker Lewis field goals when they had a chance to build a lead. Slovis threw for 131 yards on 16-of-28 passing and Dart was 8 of 16 for 89 yards. Both threw interceptions and the run game didn't help much, managing 92 yards on 27 carries. - Arizona State/AP College Football

Rachaad White said there were times that Colorado's defense was loading the line of scrimmage on Saturday night, daring Arizona State to beat them with throws downfield. Jayden Daniels and the Sun Devils were happy to oblige. Daniels threw for 236 yards and ran for two touchdowns, White added rushing and receiving touchdowns, and Arizona State beat Colorado 35-13 in the Pac-12 opener for both teams. "It was great the passing game got going," White said. "Everyone got in rhythm. If they want to stack the box, then we trust the receivers. We did some key things this week to fix things up and Jayden led that group." Arizona State (3-1, 1-0 Pac-12) bounced back from last week's loss to BYU that caused the program to drop out of the AP Top 25. The Sun Devils never trailed, controlling the flow of the game with steady offense and solid defense.

They sealed the game early in the fourth quarter when Daniels threw a lateral across the field to Ricky Pearsall, who then fired a return forward pass across the field to White, who ran 30 yards for the touchdown and a 28-10 lead. Daniels capped Arizona State's scoring with a 15-yard touchdown run. He completed 18 of 25 passes (72%) and also ran for a team-high 75 yards. It was a cleaner game for the Sun Devils, who were called for 16 penalties in the BYU loss. Arizona State outgained Colorado 436 yards to 250. "Hopefully, we learned a lesson," Sun Devils coach Herm Edwards said. "We got better this week." Colorado (1-3, 0-1) made it close for a few minutes, cutting the deficit to 14-10 early in the third quarter by scoring its first touchdown in more than nine quarters. Alex Fontenot powered through for a 1-yard score on third down. - Arizona State/AP College Football

Arizona State's first half was a stinker and the second half was stellar. In the aftermath of a surprisingly competitive 37-10 victory over UNLV on Saturday night, the 23rd-ranked Sun Devils chose to focus on the latter. "Eventually, our guys came together," Arizona State coach Herm Edwards said. "In the third quarter, that's when we got going." Quarterback Jayden Daniels ran for a career-high 122 yards and Rachaad White added two rushing touchdowns. Arizona State's defense held UNLV to just 19 total yards in the second half and the Sun Devils were dominant with a 23-0 advantage after the break. White had 90 yards on the ground and scored a crucial 9-yard touchdown late in the third quarter to give Arizona State a 21-10 lead. He added a 1-yard touchdown run early in the fourth.

Daniels was 20 of 29 passing for 175 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. The second touchdown was a 33-yarder to LV Bunkley-Shelton that put the Sun Devils (2-0) up 34-10 and capped a stretch of three touchdowns in less than seven minutes, turning a tight game into a comfortable margin. "I think we did a good job in the end," Arizona State cornerback Chase Lucas said. "But we've just got to start fresher, start better." UNLV hadn't won a football game since 2019 and came into the game a 33.5-point underdog, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, but didn't look overmatched for a big chunk of the night. Arizona State had to work for its 14-10 halftime lead. - Arizona State/AP College Football

When Arizona State head coach Herm Edwards looks at running back Rachaad White, he sees glimpses of an old friend and Hall of Fame running back Marcus Allen. Allen and Edwards actually go way back. When Edwards was a senior at San Diego State, he recruited Allen to come play for the Aztecs. The two later reunited in Kansas City when Edwards was the Chiefs' defensive backs coach. And while he doesn't like comparing his players to Hall of Famers, Edwards can't help but notice the similarities between White and Allen.

White comes into his senior season at 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds - the same measurables as Allen. "Rachaad has a lot of Marcus' mannerisms," Edwards said after the team's first fall practice on Wednesday. "His height, his length, how he runs … there's a lot of little mannerisms there that I watch and I go, 'Man, that's just like [Marcus]." Edwards mentioned how they are both effective in the running and passing game. Over four games in 2020, White finished first on the team in rushing yards (420) and receiving yards (151). - ArizonaSports.com
