  Former Charleston Southern quarterback Jack Chambers will add experience to N.C. State's quarterback room next season. Chambers (5-10, 180), who appeared in 10 games for the Buccaneers in 2021, passing for 2,510 yards, 17 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, will be a walk-on with the N.C. State football program. The news of his commitment to the Wolfpack was first reported by 247Sports.com.

Last season, Chambers also rushed for more than 400 yards with seven more scores on the ground. He averaged 297.5 yards per game, good enough for 10th in the Football Championship Subdivision. Chambers finished top 20 in the FCS in completion percentage (63.3), completions per game (22.0) and passing yards per game (2,49.5). In four years at Charleston Southern, Chambers passed for 5,781 yards and 43 touchdowns. - Raleigh News Observer

  2021 ALL-BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE SECOND-TEAM (COCHES/MEDIA): QB - Jack Chambers, R-Sr., Charleston Southern,...Chambers capped his campaign as the Big South's leader with 296.7 total offensive yards per game and 249.0 passing yards per game, while also pacing the Buccanneers with 477 total rushing yards. He garnered Sept. 27 Big South Offensive Player of the Week plaudits after a near-upset at FBS East Carolina, passing for 405 yards (fourth most in a single game in school history and most against a FBS opponent) and ran for 67 yards against the Pirates. He had at least 200 passing yards in seven games (six of seven against Big South opponents) and two 100-yard rushing contests (at North Alabama; against Campbell).   Jack Chambers threw two touchdowns and Daniel Oscar ran for 101 yards and a score and Charleston Southern beat Gardner-Webb 32-24 in double overtime on Saturday. Buccaneers (4-5, 3-4 Big South Conference) freshman defensive back Kamron Smith came up with a stop of Gardner-Webb running back Nick Gaither for no gain on fourth-and-4 at the Charleston 8-yard line to end it. Down 21-14, Bailey Fisher rallied Gardner-Webb (3-7, 1-5) and engineered an eight-play, 60-yard drive that that took just 70 seconds and ended when he threw a 17-yard scoring pass to Justin Franklin with 52 seconds left to tie it. After the teams traded field goals in each possession of overtime, Chambers ran it in from the 2-yard line and then completed the two-point conversion on a pass to Ja'Rell Smith before the the defense sealed it.   Jack Chambers threw for two touchdowns and scored on a 55-yard run to lead Charleston Southern to a 27-14 victory over Campbell on Saturday. Chambers hit Cayden Jordan for a 26-yard touchdown pass to open the scoring and his touchdown run with 1:15 remaining in the fourth quarter put the game away for the Buccaneers (3-4, 2-3 Big South). Charleston Southern led 20-0 through three quarters before Campbell (3-5, 2-3) rallied with a 9-yard touchdown catch and a 1-yard touchdown run by Bryant Barr. Chambers completed 34 of 48 passes for 255 yards for the Bucs. He had 102 yards rushing on eight carries. Jordan had nine catches for 134 yards. Campbell's Wiley Hartley completed 28 of 45 passes for 275 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. Barr was the Camels' leading rusher with 29 yards and they were held to 49 yards on the ground. Charleston Southern allowed a total of 33 points in three home games, all wins. - AP College Football

  Jack Chambers threw for 357 yards and four scores and Charleston scored three touchdowns in the third quarter and went on to beat Hampton 35-5 on Saturday. Chambers broke it open throwing a 45-yard touchdown pass to Kale Anderson on the Buccaneers' (2-3, 1-2 Big South Conference) first drive of the second half for a 21-3 lead.   SEPT 27 BIG SOUTH OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Charleston Southern quarterback Jack Chambers (Lilburn, Ga.) amassed 459 yards of offense in Charleston Southern's narrow defeat at East Carolina. He threw for 405 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed for 54 yards and a score as the Buccaneers fell to the Pirates by three points. Chambers directed the Bucs to a 14-0 first quarter lead, as well as the near comeback in the fourth quarter with an 8-yard TD run followed by his second TD pass of the night. He was 38-of-61 passing - the second-most completions in Big South history while his 61 attempts set a conference mark. Chambers' 83 total plays also established a league record, and his 459 total yards were the third-most in a game in Big South annals.   Jack Chambers threw four touchdown passes, all to Garris Schwarting, who also threw one, and Charleston Southern beat the The Citadel 38-21 on Saturday in the Buccaneers season opener. The Buccaneers scored three touchdowns in the first quarter and never trailed. Chambers threw a 23-yard scoring pass to Schwarting for a 7-0 lead. Schwarting then threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Kyris Barnett for a two-score lead. Chambers closed the first throwing a 27-yard score to Schwarting. In the third, the duo connected on a 69-yard touchdown pass to extend the lead to 31-14. The pair made it 38-21 with 5:04 left on a 24-yarder. Cooper Wallace ran it in from 16 yards out to reduce the Bulldogs' (0-2) deficit to 31-21 with 2:31 left in the third but never got closer.
