 Mookie Cooper, Missouri, Player News

  01/07/21 - WR Mookie CooperrJr/2025, Missouri, 5-08, 187 (DS#75 WR) + More +

Eli Drinkwitz continues to add playmakers to his Missouri offense, most recently landing a familiar name from the NCAA transfer portal. Former Ohio State wide receiver Mookie Cooper, a 2020 four-star recruit from Trinity Catholic High School in St. Louis, committed to join the Tigers, Cooper announced Tuesday on social media. Cooper was rated the No. 2 prospect in Missouri in the 2020 recruiting class by when he signed with the Buckeyes and the nation's 58th-ranked player overall. Cooper barely gave Mizzou much consideration at the time and enrolled early at Ohio State last January. One of four highly touted receivers in the Buckeyes' freshman class, Cooper didn't see the field this season and entered the transfer portal last month. - Post-Dispatch

  12/26/20 - WR Mookie CooperrJr/2025, Missouri, 5-08, 187 (DS#75 WR) + More +

The first departure from Ohio State football's roster in 2020 comes from the touted group of freshman receivers. Mookie Cooper entered his name in the transfer portal, per 247 Sports' Chris Hummer. The four-star prospect was ranked No. 93 in the national composite for the 2020 class. Cooper, a St. Louis native, did not play as a freshman. That was not unexpected because he did not play during his senior year of high school due to an eligibility/transfer issue. He will have four years of eligibility at whatever program he joins. - Cleveland Plain Dealer
