2022 ALL-BIG TEN FOOTBALL HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES): Evan Hull,...Evan Hull earned the second All-Big Ten recognition of his career after becoming the 16th player since 2000 to average over 75 rushing yards and 45 receiving yards a game over an entire season, most recently done by Travis Etienne and Saquon Barkley. Hull led all FBS running backs with 54 receptions and was second amongst all Big Ten receivers with 483 yards after the catch this season. Hull tallied 2,417 rushing yards, 851 receiving yards, and 22 total touchdowns in his four-year career at Northwestern. - Northwestern Football

Evan Hull's 213 yards receiving for Northwestern against Duke were the most by a Bowl Subdivision running back since at least 2000, and his 14 catches were the most by a Northwestern back since Tyrell Sutton had 10 against Purdue in 2005. Before Saturday, Hull had never had more than six catches in a game or more than 87 receiving yards. He was the first Northwestern player to go over 200 receiving yards since receiver Flynn Nagel had 220 against Nebraska in 2018. - AP College Football

Compared to Northwestern's offensive presence last season, the Wildcats had a strong presence offensively on the field. The group appeared solid, pushing past Nebraska's defensive line and rushing to the flat side and grab yards. Junior running backs Evan Hull and Cam Porter led the group combining for a total of 213 yards. With Porter's return to the field after an ACL injury ending his 2021 season short, the dynamic duo's presence on the field will be a key component to the Cats' offensive success. - The Daily Northwestern

2022 PRESEASON DOAK WALKER AWARD CANDIDATE: Evan Hull (Sr.), Northwestern,...In an attempt at accuracy in accounting, Northwestern listed running back Evan Hull (5-11, 210) with 2019 as his "First Year" and 2020 as his "redshirt first year," then 2021 as a redshirt sophomore and calls this season his junior year. In 2021 Hull was named All-Big Ten honorable mention by coaches and media. He finished the season sixth in the Big Ten in rushing yards (1,009) and eighth in rushing touchdowns (7) and led the team in all-purpose yards (1,276), averaging more than 100 all-purpose yards per game. He appeared in all 12 games and made 11 starts. And that is why he is on watch lists going into this season. - NUSports.com

Evan Hull rushed for 216 yards and a pair of touchdowns Saturday afternoon to lead Northwestern to a 35-6 win over Ohio. Hull bounced off a defender at the line of scrimmage late in the first quarter before sprinting away for a 90-yard score that helped set the Wildcats (2-2) up for their first win over an FBS team this season. The Wildcats' ground game amassed 373 yards to take the pressure off sophomore Ryan Hilinski, who completed just 12 passes for 88 yards in his first start replacing Hunter Johnson.

While its defense struggled to stop the hosts, Ohio (0-4) remained winless after often killing its own drives with a combination of turnovers, costly penalties and sacks. Kurtis Rourke was 20-for-29 for 166 yards with a fumble and an interception. Anthony Tyus III and Jake Arthurs added late touchdown runs and Charlie Kuhbander made a pair of short field goals for Northwestern, which led 17-0 at intermission. Ohio staved off a shutout when backup quarterback Armani Rogers scored on a 55-yard keeper on the game's final play. - Northwestern/AP College Football

Evan Hull ran for 126 yards and two touchdowns and Northwestern beat Indiana State 24-6 on Saturday. Hull led the way for a Wildcats rushing unit that surpassed last week's 117 total yards against Michigan State at the half and finished with 209. He ran for 51 yards on the team's opening drive and capped it with a 3-yard touchdown run. "When you look at where you're at as a Big Ten team playing against a FCS team, you have to pound the ball," Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald said. "For the most part, when we targeted things right and executed I thought we did a good job." The Wildcats (1-1) never trailed, stopping the Sycamores (1-1) in the first matchup between the two programs.

After throwing for 283 yards against Michigan State, Hunter Johnson finished with 66 yards passing with a touchdown. The senior completed 9 of 16 passes in his second start as the Wildcat starter. Freshman Anthony Tyus III rushed for 71 yards for Northwestern, which outgained Indiana State 275-169 in total yards and 209-91 in rushing. Indiana State's Anthony Thompson passed for 132 yards and a touchdown, completing 21 of 34 passes in his second start for Indiana State after transferring from Northern Illinois. Matt Sora rushed for 13 yards to lead the Sycamores. - Northwestern/AP College Football

Evan Hull had four rushing touchdowns, Chris Bergin added an 85-yard touchdown return on a blocked field goal, and Northwestern snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 45-6 victory over UMass on Saturday. Hull, a freshman, had 220 yards rushing on 24 carries (an average of 9.2 yards) in his first significant action this season. He had a total of 15 yards and eight carries (an average of 1.9 yards) before Saturday. Northwestern (2-8) last won on Sept. 14 with a 30-14 victory over UNLV. Quarterback Randall West was 19 of 36 for 175 yards and Bilal Ally had 66 yards rushing on 16 carries for UMass (1-10), which has dropped five straight.

UMass led 3-0 at the end of the first quarter and had a chance to expand the lead on the first play of the second quarter. However, Cooper Garcia's 30-yard field-goal attempt was blocked by Joe Gaziano and Bergin picked up the ball at the 15 and returned it 85 yards for the game-turning touchdown. After Garcia connected on a 23-yard field goal, Hull had a 6-yard TD run for a 14-6 lead with 7:59 left in the first half. Less than three minutes later, Hull had a 38-yard TD run to cap a 95-yard drive to make it 21-6. Hull had three rushes on the series for a total of 90 yards. Charlie Kuhbander hit a 31-yard field goal in the third - following an interception by Blake Gallagher - to make it 24-6. Hull had a 46-yard TD early in the fourth for a 31-6 advantage and added a 31-yard TD a few minutes later to make it 38-6. Northwestern's final score was an 11-yard TD run by Raymond Niro after Hull left the game. - AP College Football
