  10/01/19 - OLB Tevaughn GrantrSr/2020, Wagner, 6-1, 245 (DS#88 OLB) + More +

SEPT 30/WEEK 5 NEC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: TEVAUGHN GRANT, WAGNER, LB, Sr., 6-2, 250 lbs., Paterson, NJ/Eastside, WEEK 5 Stats: 9 total tackles, 4.0 TFL, 2.5 sacks, FF, QB Hurry,...Grant opened Wagner’s NEC schedule by registered his most-productive performance at the collegiate level. Spearheading a defensive effort that limited LIU to 3.8 yards per play, the fifth-year senior logged a team-high nine tackles to go along with a forced fumble and a quarterback hurry. Eight of his nine hits limited the offense to no more than a one-yard gain. The veteran defensive end totaled 4.0 tackles-for-loss, including 2.5 sacks.

After Wagner grabbed a 14-7 lead fewer than 5:00 into the second quarter, Grant derailed LIU’s ensuing possession by making three consecutive tackles that resulted in a three-and-out. With Wagner leading, 21-7, later in the half, Grant sacked LIU quarterback Clay Beathard for an 8-yard loss on third down. He accounted for a QB hurry and one tackle, forcing LIU to punt following their final possession of the third quarter. Grant added a tackle-for-loss and a sack in the fourth quarter, helping the Seahawks salt away a 24-14 win. - NEC Football
