T.Q. Jackson, Southern Methodist, Player News

SMU got a boost to its receiving corps on Wednesday when T.Q. Jackson announced via Twitter that his waiver to play immediately was approved by the NCAA. Jackson, a redshirt freshman, played in three games for the Arkansas Razorbacks last season, thus preserving his eligibility. He transferred to SMU in the offseason. Jackson is from Jefferson, Texas, and had one catch last season. He hasn't been eligible to play in the first three games for SMU in 2020. He was a four-star recruit coming out of Jefferson High School and had a host of Power Five offers, according to 247Sports. He was rated as the No. 45 wide receiver in the nation by the recruiting service for the Class of 2019. - Dallas Morning News

After announcing he was entering the NCAA's transfer portal in mid-January, Arkansas freshman receiver TQ Jackson has found his transfer destination. Jackson, who caught one pass in his brief Razorbacks career, has committed to SMU, according to a post on his Twitter account. A native of Jefferson, Texas, he played in three games - Ole Miss, San Jose State, Texas A&M - in 2019. Jackson was a 4-star prospect, rated the No. 42 wide receiver in the country and No. 41 overall player in the state of Texas out of high school by Rivals. He was one of four 4-star receivers who signed with Arkansas in former coach Chad Morris' 2019 recruiting class. Jackson chose the Razorbacks over scholarship offers from Missouri, Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, TCU, Texas Tech and other programs. - Northwest Arkansas Times
