Mike Danna, a part-time starter at Michigan who did not receive an invite to the NFL Scouting Combine, has been drafted. The defensive end from Detroit was taken in the fifth round by the Kansas City Chiefs, No. 177, on Saturday, the final day of the 202 0 NFL Draft. Danna is the fifth Michigan player to be drafted, joining Cesar Ruiz (Saints), Josh Uche (Patriots), Ben Bredeson (Ravens) and Khaleke Hudson (Redskins). Danna totaled 38 tackles (three for a loss) and had three sacks during the 2019 season at Michigan, his last stop of a productive collegiate career. One that included three seasons at Central Michigan, where he earned first-team all-Mid-American Conference honors in 2018. - Ann Arbor News

At least two others will join Michigan's 11 NFL combine invitees at the program's annual “pro day” event in Ann Arbor later this week, the last chance for more than a dozen players to impress pro-level scouts and evaluators. Michael Danna and Jordan Glasgow are expected to participate in the event, which will be take place on the University of Michigan campus on Friday and be closed to the public and media, program spokesman Dave Ablauf confirmed to MLive last week. “Pro day” is an abbreviated v ersion of the combine, with scouts from nearly all 32 NFL teams expected."Watch this response," Danna wrote on social media website Twitter on Feb. 7, the day the NFL unveiled its list of 337 players invited to the combine, without Danna or Glasgo w. "You'll never break me." After teammate and fellow combine invitee Khaleke Hudson weighed in on Twitter ("Mike Danna isn't going to the combine?"), Danna responded: "Makes no sense bro They gone feel it tho." - MLive.com

It's only been about two weeks, and these are just summer workouts, but Michael Danna is already making an early impression at Michigan. The graduate transfer defensive end from Central Michigan arrived on campus in late June and was immediately enrolled in summer workouts under Ben Herbert and the Michigan strength staff. And so far, Danna has passed with flying colors. "His work ethic has been outstanding," Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh said this week on his "Attack Each Day" podcast. "He carries h imself like he's on a mission - to make Michigan great and to make himself great.Harbaugh has already affixed the Don Brown-led "dude" status on Danna, who signed a National Letter of Intent to play at Michigan in February. He played in 38 games o ver three seasons at CMU, starting 16 of them, and earned first-team all-Mid-American Conference honors in 2018 thanks to a career-best 66 tackles (15 for a loss) and 9 1/2 sacks. - MLive.com
