  10/23/20 - TE Hunter KampmoyerrSr/2021, Oregon, 6-4, 243 (DS#24 TE) + More +

Despite a career-high, Hunter Kampmoyer beat himself up after the Rose Bowl. The Oregon tight end, who had two catches for 24 yards in the Ducks' win over Wisconsin, was disappointed in himself for a critical dropped pass on third down with less than 4:30 to go in a one-point game. It didn't end up costing Oregon, which held on for a 28-27 win, but the potentially game-sealing nature of the play wasn't lost on Kampmoyer. "After that one in the Rose Bowl I was kind of hard on myself for a little bit, but all I can do is improve and get better and put that behind me," he said. "I've been working all offseason, getting better and more confident and I do feel much better catching the ball and more confident. I'm moving on from that and excited to play football this year and see what I'm capable of doing."

Kampmoyer is one of five scholarship tight ends for the Ducks, who are deeper at the position than most FBS teams. He is the most experienced in the group, which also features Cam McCormick, Spencer Webb, Patrick Herbert and DJ Johnson. They each bring unique skill sets to the field and though offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead also operates primarily out of 11 and 12 personnel (one back and either one or two tight ends), he's shown a consistent willingness to utilize those players in the passing game. A converted defensive linemen, Kampmoyer has been called upon mostly as a blocker but is hoping to showcase his catching abilities more this fall. "They want to give us the ball in this offense," Kampmoyer said. "Explosive plays, also use us in the run game with blocking. It's creating a lot more opportunities for us to get the ball and we're all excited about that." - The Oregonian

  07/19/20 - TE Hunter KampmoyerrSr/2021, Oregon, 6-4, 243 (DS#24 TE) + More +

2020 JOHN MACKEY AWARD PRESEASON WATCH LIST: Hunter Kampmoyer, Oregon,...A senior from Bishop, Calif., Kampmoyer started seven games during the Ducks' Pac-12 championship season in 2019. Among his five receptions were his first career touchdown, against Nevada, and two receptions on the opening touchdown drive of Oregon's Rose Bowl win over Wisconsin. Originally a defensive lineman for the Ducks, Kampmoyer moved to tight end as a sophomore in 2018 but retained a nose for physical play at the line of scrimmage. He is a punishing blocker in the run game, and helped Oregon finish second in the Pac-12 in rushing last season with 174.86 yards per game. - Oregon Football
