Add another to the list of Arizona State football players looking to come back next year and finish what they started. Senior cornerback Chase Lucas indicated on social media he too is planning to return and take advantage of the NCAA's mandate to grant athletes an extra season of eligibility due to the circumstances presented by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Lucas joins fellow defenders Jack Jones and Evan Fields who publicized the same decision in the last week. The decision by Lucas, a product of Chandler High School, probably wasn't a surprise to many as social media posts on the part of Sun Devil assistant coaches last week seemed to hint that would be the case. - Arizona Republic

2021 SENIOR BOWL WATCH LIST: Chase Lucas, Arizona State,...Lucas has been an integral part of the Sun Devil defense since being named a freshman first-team all-American by the FWAA and second-team by USA Today in 2017. Last season, Lucas started all 13 games at cornerback for the Sun Devils and paced a secondary that helped ASU record 72 pass breakups - 10th most nationally and the most since posting 75 in 2012. Lucas finished with 54 tackles (50 solo) and 4.5 tackles for loss and allowed just one touchdown in coverage, the second-lowest total in the Pac-12 and 19th-lowest total nationally. - Arizona State Football
