 Jake Constantine, Rice, Player News

  10/03/21 - QB Jake ConstantinerSr/2022, Rice, 6-1, 205 (DS#56 QB) + More +

Jake Constantine threw for two scores and Rice's defense snared four interceptions, and the Owls never trailed in a 24-19 win over Southern Mississippi on Saturday night. Following five straight losses against its Conference USA foe, Rice (2-3, 1-0) now has a two-game winning streak against the Golden Eagles (1-4, 0-1). Constantine threw a 19-yard touchdown to Robert French to start the second half and extend Rice's lead to 17-7. After the Owls' defense came up with a pick on Southern Mississippi's next drive, Cedric Patterson III ran for a 38-yard score for a 24-7 lead. The Golden Eagles responded on the following kickoff when Camron Harrell ran it back 95 yards to reduce the deficit to 10. Jake Lange threw for 304 yards for Southern Mississippi with a touchdown and three interceptions. Jason Brownlee caught eight passes for 127 yards. - Rice/AP College Football

  07/29/20 - QB Jake ConstantinerSr/2022, Rice, 6-1, 205 (DS#56 QB) + More +

Washington State's quarterback room finally found the one thing it was lacking: experience. For the third straight season, the Cougars have picked up a graduate transfer quarterback and for the second year in a row, they went the Big Sky Conference route to do so. Jake Constantine, a one-time Boise State quarterback who played a season at Ventura College before leading Weber State to a pair of Big Sky titles, announced on Twitter he'd be spending his final college football season in Pullman. Before opting to play in the Pac-12, Constantine had planned to transfer to Towson, committing in late May and signing with the FCS Tigers on June 24. Constantine is still listed on Towson's official roster. His decision to leave Towson could be tied to the Colonial Athletic Association recently canceling its football season due to the coronavirus pandemic. - Spokesman-Review

Jake Constantine threw four touchdown passes and Weber State clinched a share of the Big Sky Conference title on Saturday with a 38-10 victory over Idaho State. The Wildcats (9-3, 7-1) entered the game tied atop the conference standings with Montana and Sacramento State, which beat UC Davis while the Grizzlies lost to Montana State on Saturday. Weber State finished the regular season undefeated at home for the second straight year, and has beaten Idaho State (3-9, 2-6) in 16 of the last 17 meetings. Constantine was 16 of 23 for 289 yards passing, David Ames caught four passes for 140 yards and a touchdown. Devon Cooley had two TD catches and Ty MacPherson had one.   11/09/19 - QB Jake ConstantinerSr/2022, Rice, 6-1, 205 (DS#56 QB) + More +

Jake Constantine scored on a 12-yard keeper with 2:49 left, Trey Tuttle kicked a 32-yarder with 31 seconds left, and Weber State rallied to beat North Dakota 30-27 for its seventh straight win on Saturday. Constantine's 12-yard TD run tied it at 27, capping an eight-play, 75-yard drive for the Wildcats (8-2, 6-0 Big Sky), ranked third in the national polls. The Fighting Hawks' Brock Boltmann fumbled the ensuing kickoff return, and Weber State's Aaron Sessions recovered at the North Dakota 7. An unsportsmanlike conduct penalty pushed the Wildcats back to the 22.

The Fighting Hawks (5-4) scored 13 straight points to lead 27-20 on Brady Leach's 34-yard field goal with 7:01 left in the game. Constantine was 17 of 23 for 230 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions and ran five times for 43 yards and a TD. Kevin Smith ran 25 times for 104 yards and David Ames caught six passes for 105 yards and a score. Nate Ketteringham passed for 304 yards and three touchdowns for North Dakota. Noah Wanzek caught seven passes for 140 yards and a touchdown. - AP College Football
