Frank Harris threw two touchdown passes to Zakhari Franklin and No. 24 UTSA celebrated its first national ranking with a 45-16 victory over Louisiana Tech on Saturday night. Harris was 12 of 20 for 193 yards, with scoring passes of 75 and 10 yards to Franklin, to help the Roadrunners (8-0, 4-0 Conference USA) extend their school-record winning streak to eight games. Franklin had five catches for 118 yards, and Sincere McCormick ran for 113 yards and three touchdowns. Dadrian Taylor returned an interception 51 yards for a score.

UTSA, one of nine remaining undefeated FBS teams, won for the first time in Ruston in six attempts dating to 2012. "This is a big one," Roadrunners coach Jeff Traylor said. "We came here last night and all the kids were talking on the field about how negative things have been here - how they got their tails kicked. It painted a picture to me of how many negative things were in their heads. I don't know if I've done anything any good (at UTSA), but I know one thing – my kids don't play scared. We put out those bad memories and we don't play with fear." Trevor Hermanson and Corey Mayfield Jr. returned interceptions for touchdowns, UTSA allowed just 102 yards, and the Roadrunners rolled to a 45-0 homecoming victory over Rice on Saturday night. The Roadrunners, celebrating their 10th anniversary of football, improved to a program-best 7-0 (3-0 Conference USA West) and the seven-game winning streak is also a program high. Sincere McCormick carried 13 times for 117 yards, including an 81-yard non-scoring run, and UTSA totaled 261 yards on the ground. Frank Harris added 12-of-19 passing for 125 yards and two TDs. Joshua Cephus, who had four receptions for 63 yards, caught both of Harris' touchdown passes. Ari Broussard had 10 carries for 61 yards rushing for the Owls (2-4, 1-1). OCT 11 C-USA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: UTSA QB Frank Harris' record-setting night helped lead UTSA to a 52-46 win over WKU on Saturday night in Bowling Green. Harris completed 28-38 passes for a career-best 349 yards and a school-record six passing touchdowns — tied for second-most in a game by an FBS player this year — as the Roadrunners racked up a season-high 564 yards of offense. Harris also caught a 23-yard touchdown pass, giving him seven total scores in the game (tied-third most in C-USA history), and rushed for 51 yards on nine carries to help send UTSA to the first 6-0 start in school history. The Schertz Clemens High School product has now thrown for 1,475 yards and 12 TDs on 127-182 passing this season and his 69.8% completion percentage stands 11th in the FBS. Frank Harris threw for 349 yards and six touchdowns and hauled in a 23-yard touchdown pass himself as UTSA outlasted Western Kentucky 52-46 on Saturday night for the Roadrunners' school-record sixth straight win to start the season. Harris threw three touchdown passes to De'Corian Clark, the third on a 43-yard hook-up to give UTSA (6-0, 2-0 Conference USA) a 52-43 lead with 6:39 left. Harris found Clark with the game's first score less than a minute into the game, capping a three-play, 75-yard drive with a 30-yard touchdown.

Joshua Cephus tossed a touchdown pass to Harris in the second quarter, then caught a three-yard toss for a score in the third. Harris finished 28-of-38 passing with an interception. Sincere McCormick carried 23 times for 120 yards while Clark pulled in seven passes for 160 yards. Cephus had eight catches for 83 yards and a score. Frank Harris threw two touchdown passes and UTSA beat UNLV 24-17 on Saturday night for its fifth straight win. UNLV couldn't convert on fourth-and-10 from the UTSA 36 with 39 seconds left to seal it for the Roadrunners (5-0). Harris was 24-of-30 passing for 278 yards, and he threw a touchdown pass each to De'Corian Clark and Joshua Cephus. Clark had seven receptions for 109 yards and Cephus eight for 84 yards. Sincere McCormick added 89 yards rushing with a 1-yard TD run for UTSA. Cameron Friel completed 25 of 37 passes for 307 yards and had a touchdown pass and two interceptions for UNLV (0-5). Steve Jenkins had five receptions for 114 yards and caught a 63-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. Sincere McCormick's 42 carries for UTSA against Memphis were the most in five years by a player not in a triple-option offense. McCormick ran for 184 yards and three touchdowns and caught three balls for 33 yards in the Roadrunners' 31-28 come-from-behind win. It was his third 100-yard game of the season and program-best 13th of his career. Air Force's Isaiah Sanders and Georgia Tech's Taquon Marshall each carried 44 times in a game in 2017, but they played in option offenses in which passes were rare. Take those two players out of the equation, and McCormick's number of carries was the highest since D'Onta Foreman of Texas ran 51 times against Kansas in 2016. - AP College Football

SEPT 27 CONFERENCE USA CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: UTSA LB Clarence Hicks led an opportunistic UTSA defense that forced a pair of key fourth-quarter turnovers in a 31-28 come-from-behind victory over Memphis on Saturday at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium. The super senior outside linebacker registered six tackles, including 3.0 TFL and 2.0 sacks, to help the Roadrunners record the largest comeback win in program history by erasing a 21-0 deficit. Hicks had a strip sack in the final stanza that resulted in a fumble recovery and 12-yard return by Lorenzo Dantzler to the Tigers 7-yard line, eventually leading to the game-tying score. Sincere McCormick scored his third touchdown on fourth-and-one to tie it, then set up Texas-San Antonio for the game-winning field goal with a 22-yard run and UTSA beat Memphis 31-28 on Saturday. McCormick carried 42 times for 184 yards as UTSA rallied from a 21-0 first-quarter deficit. Wardalis Ducksworth recovered a UTSA fumble in the end zone for Memphis' first score, Rodrigues Clark scored on a seven-yard run and Calvin Austin III pulled in a 60-yard pass from Seth Henigan in the first quarter for the Tigers' three-score lead.

McCormick got the Roadrunners (4-0) on the board with a 12-yard run in the second quarter, then scored on an eight-yard run in the third. Brandon Thomas bulled in from the 1 to put Memphis (3-1) up 28-14 with 2:44 left in the third. Frank Harris' touchdown pass to Zakhari Franklin cut the lead to seven early in the fourth and McCormick capped a short drive to score the tying touchdown. After a Memphis punt with 2:34 left, McCormick carried on seven of nine plays, the last of which was Hunter Duplessis' 42-yard, game-winning field goal as time expired. SEPT 20 CONFERENCE USA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: UTSA DL Trumane Bell II led a dominant defensive showing for UTSA in a 27-13 victory over Middle Tennessee in the Conference USA opener on Saturday at the Alamodome. The Dallas native registered four tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, a pair of sacks, two quarterback hurries and a forced fumble to help the Roadrunners hold the Blue Raiders to 199 yards of offense and keep them off the scoreboard until the final three and a half minutes of the game. Bell posted a sack in the second quarter that was a loss of 11 yards and then had a strip-sack early in the fourth quarter that resulted in a 3-yard fumble return for a touchdown by Lorenzo Dantzler. Bell and the UTSA defense yielded only eight rushing yards to the Blue Raiders, tied for the third-fewest allowed in a game in program history. Frank Harris passed for 264 yards and Sincere McCormick rushed for 105 as UTSA defeated Middle Tennessee 27-13 on Saturday night in the Conference USA opener for both teams. UTSA (3-0) nearly picked up its second shutout of the season, holding the Blue Raiders scoreless until the final 3 1/2 minutes. Harris completed 24 of 39 passes with two touchdowns and two interceptions. His scoring tosses went to Zakhari Franklin for 33 yards and Joshua Cephus for 12. Both receivers caught eight passes, Franklin for 114 yards and Cephus gaining 84 yards.

The Roadrunners had five sacks and nine tackles for loss in holding Middle Tennessee (1-2) to 8 yards rushing, 11 first downs and 199 total yards. Trumane Bell II had two sacks and 2 1/2 tackles for loss. The Blue Raiders' Chase Cunningham passed for 150 yards and his 23-yard hookup with Jimmy Marshall ended the shutout bid with 3:28 remaining. SEPT 13 CONFERENCE USA SPECIAL TEAMS OF THE WEEK: UTSA PR Sheldon Jones returned a punt 76 yards for a touchdown to start the scoring for UTSA in a 54-0 rout of Lamar on Saturday night at the Alamodome. After the defense forced a punt on the Cardinals' opening possession, the senior fielded the ball off one bounce and dashed 76 yards to paydirt to hand the Roadrunners the lead just three minutes into the contest. Jones' punt return was the second in UTSA's 11-year history, as he joins Kenny Harrison - who had a 79-yarder vs. Texas State in 2012 - as the only Roadrunners to return a punt for a score. Sincere McCormick rushed for two touchdowns to set a UTSA record, Josh Adkins passed for two scores and the Roadrunners rolled to a 54-0 win over Lamar on Saturday night, the first shutout in program history. Sincere scored on runs of 18 and 6 yards in the second quarter, giving him 21 rushing touchdowns in his career, one more than David Glasco. Adkins hit Zakhari Franklin for 32 yards and Clark De'Corian for 16 in the second half.

Despite having just 185 yards at the half, the Roadrunners (2-0) led 34-0 because of two big plays and holding Lamar to 56 yards. Sheldon Jones opened the scoring 3 minutes in by returning a punt 76 yards for a touchdown. In-between McCormick's touchdowns Charles Wiley had a 44-yard fumble return. First-half quarterback Frank Harris was 13 for 15 for 118 yards, and after taking over Adkins, was 11 of 13 for 134. A third QB, Eddie Lee Marburger, was 2 for 4 for 69 yards. The senior all-conference performer drilled a pair of field goals in the second quarter to help hand the Roadrunners a 20-14 halftime advantage, and his third make of the night late in the third stanza gave the visitors a 23-17 lead. As impressive as UTSA was on Saturday in beating Illinois 37-30, you'd never guess the Roadrunners' football program is only a decade old. Or that it was UTSA's first time facing a Big Ten opponent. "I'm just so thrilled for my kids," UTSA coach Jeff Traylor said. "We've been together 21 months now, and they've believed in us since the day we got here. I might seem like I'm a little cocky. I'm really not." He had reason to be.

UTSA never trailed in its season opener as Frank Harris was 20 of 32 for 280 yards and a touchdown and ran for a second score. Sincere McCormick carried 31 times for 117 yards and Brenden Brady ran 11 times for 67 yards and two touchdowns. Zakhari Franklin caught 10 passes for 155 yards and a touchdown for the Roadrunners. Artur Sitkowski was 22 of 42 passing for 266 yards and 3 touchdowns for Illinois. Reggie Love III rushed for 39 yards.
