  Cameron Peters accounted for 394 yards and two touchdowns and Prairie View A&M beat Jackson State 23-21 on Saturday to win its first Southwestern Athletic Conference championship since 2009. Peters was 17-of-28 passing for 294 yards with a 40-yard touchdown pass to Cameron Bonner. Peters finished with 100 yards rushing that included a 7-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. The Panthers chewed up 9:36 of the fourth quarter with a 16-play, 95-yard drive before Peters fumbled the ball at the 1, but Jackson State punted the ball back three plays later. On the ensuing possession, Peters ran up the middle for a 12-yard gain to convert on third-and-8 from near midfield with 2:14 remaining. The Panthers then ran out the clock. Diego Alfaro kicked field goals from 19, 30 and 42 yards for Prairie View A&M (10-3). Jared Lockhart threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Ja'Naylon Dupree for Jackson State (9-3). JaCobian Morgan scored on a 29-yard run. Ahmad Miller ended the scoring with a 2-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter. It was Jackson State's ninth appearance in the title game but for just the second time against Prairie View A&M.   Cameron Peters accounted for three touchdowns, Chase Bingmon had two of Prairie View's five rushing TDs and Prairie View A&M beat Mississippi Valley State 59-6 on Saturday night in the regular-season finale for both teams. PVAMU (7-3, 7-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference) plays Jackson State in the conference championship game on Dec. 6. Mississippi Valley State (1-10, 0-7) has lost five games in a row. Peters was 12-of-16 passing for 234 yards with touchdown passes to Travon Jones and Jyzaiah Rockwell and added a 7-yard rushing touchdown. Bingmon had 81 yards rushing on seven carries and scored on runs of 1 yard late in the first quarter and 25 yards early in the second that made it 21-0.

Travor Randle returned an interception 33 yards for a touchdown, Lamagea McDowell scored on a 6-yard run and wide receiver Andre Dennis took a jet sweep 51 yards for a TD that made it 56-0 midway through the third quarter. Adonis Jackson blocked a punt by PVAMU's Adam Atwell, scooped it up at the 10 and returned it for a touchdown to get the Delta Devils on the scoreboard with 2:49 remaining in the third.   Chase Bingmon, Lamagea McDowell and Andre Dennis each had two touchdowns for Prairie View A&M in a 56-9 blowout win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday. McDowell opened the tab for the Panthers (8-3, 6-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference) with 13- and 2-yard scores, midway through the first quarter and on the first play of the second quarter. Dennis followed suit, catching 10- and 6-yard passes from Christian Peters in the second quarter.

Bingmon's scores followed on the other side of halftime, with a 6-yard effort after Jaylen Jennings opened with the only touchdown for the Golden Lions (4-7, 2-5). Bingmon broke free for a 72-yard score at the start of the fourth to highlight a 15-carry, 135-yard rushing day. Both quarterbacks threw two touchdown passes, with Peters relieved in the second half for Tevin Carter. Carter's lone passes went for 22-yard and 65-yard touchdown strikes. Peters was 20-of-24 passing for 269 yards. The Panthers out-gained the Golden Lions 618-253, and 356-80 through the air. Eight of the Panthers' 12 drives ended in touchdowns. - AP College Football

  Cameron Peters passed for 394 yards and five touchdowns - three of them to Jyzaiah Rockwell - and Prairie View A&M rolled to a 48-5 victory over Alabama A&M on Saturday. Prairie View A&M (7-3, 5-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference) did all of its scoring in the final three quarters after David Faulk's 33-yard field goal gave Alabama A&M (4-6, 1-5) a 3-0 lead. Chase Bingmon was tackled in the end zone to give the Bulldogs a 5-0 lead early in the second quarter. Peters connected with Ja'Koby Banks for a 39-yard go-ahead touchdown and then hit Rockwell for a 39-yard score on the final play of the first half for a 13-5 lead.

Peters had scoring throws covering 27 and 9 yards to Rockwell in the third quarter and a 56-yarder to Chaney Fitzgerald in the fourth. Fitzgerald's catch came in between touchdown runs by Andre Dennis and Shadrick Byrd. Peters, a senior, completed 17 of 22 passes in setting career highs for yards and TD throws in a single game.   Lamagea McDowell ran for two touchdowns and Prairie View A&M remained unbeaten in the Southwestern Athletic Conference with a 24-3 win over Southern on Saturday. McDowell ran for a 15-yard touchdown at the start of the second quarter for the game's first points and the Panthers (5-2, 4-0) went on to a 17-0 lead after Cameron Peters' 13-yard TD pass to Jyzaiah Rockwell and Aiden Webb's 30-yard field goal at the end of the half. McDowell added a 1-yard TD late in the game. Peters was 19-of-31 passing for 224 yards. McDowell finished with 56 yards on 16 carries and Chase Bingmon 64 on 13 plus another 52 yards receiving. Ashton Strother threw for 81 yards and an interception and Trey Holly rushed for 99 yards on 21 carries for the Jaguars (1-6, 0-3).   Chase Bingmon rushed for 180 yards, Lamagea McDowell added 104 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and Prairie View A&M defeated Northwestern State 27-24 on Saturday night. The Panthers (2-2) managed almost 500 yards of total offense, with nearly 350 coming on the ground. They were 4 for 5 in the red zone and scored on three straight drives in the first half to lead 15-10 entering halftime. Tevin Carter was 15-of-22 passing for 148 yards, and he had a 56-yard rushing touchdown to score Prairie View's first points of the game. Jyzaiah Rockwell had five catches for 84 yards.

Aiden Webb connected on two field goals of 28 and 20 yards and was 1 for 2 on extra points for Prairie View. Defensively, Travor Randle had 14 total tackles and one interception that he returned for 32 yards. Abram Johnston was 12 of 19 for 156 yards and two touchdowns, and he rushed for 71 yards and another touchdown for the Demons (1-3). He connected with Ben Buisson for a 44-yard score to bring Northwestern State within striking distance with four minutes to go.   Trazon Connley threw a career-high five touchdown passes on eight completions and Prairie View A&M beat Arkansas-Pine Bluff 55-24 on Saturday. Connley was 8 of 15 for 193 yards for the Southwestern Athletic Conference West leaders (6-4, 5-2). His touchdowns went to five different receivers. Three of Connley's touchdowns came in the second quarter - including his longest scoring throw of the game, 45 yards to Jailon Howard - as the Panthers took a 28-17 lead at halftime.   Trazon Connley ran for four touchdowns and passed for a fifth to lead Prairie View A&M to a 64-48 win over Bethune-Cookman on Saturday. The teams combined for 1,124 yards of offense with the Panthers taking control with touchdowns on four straight possessions in the second half, two of them started by turnovers. Connley scored on three straight possessions on runs of 4, 5 and 1 yard and iced it when Bryce Turner returned a fumble 21 yards for a touchdown in the final minute. Jaden Stewart carried 21 times for 140 yards and two touchdowns, including one in the pivotal fourth quarter for the Panthers (5-3, 4-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Connley had 133 yards on 24 carries as A&M piled up 340 yards on the ground. Connley completed 18 of 24 passes for 234 yards. Bernard Goodwater had the touchdown catch.
