  2019 PSAC EAST OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR (COACHES): Collin DiGalbo, Kutztown,...DiGalbo is the first Golden Bear to earn the award since 2016 (Jordan Morgan.) It marks the ninth Kutztown has boasted the winner. DiGalbo is a four-time East Athlete of the Week honoree and is second in career rushing touchdowns at Kutztown (33). DiGalbo led the Golden Bears to the PSAC Championship Game and scored three touchdowns. The senior is fourth in passing yards this season (2465) and passing touchdowns (26). He is one of seven PSAC athletes with at least 10 rushing touchdowns. He threw multiple touchdowns in every game this season, except one. He opened the season with consecutive four-touchdown games.   NOV 4 PSAC EASTERN DIVISION OFFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Collin DiGalbo, Kutztown (Sr./QB), Secane, Pa./Monsignor Bonner,...DiGalbo threw for 300 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 32 yards rushing as the No. 17 Golden Bears went on the road to defeat No. 22 West Chester 30-17 and claim the fourth PSAC East title in program history. DiGalbo finished 13-of-22 passing with a 63-yard touchdown to Diego Torres in the second quarter and a 25-yarder to Jerry Kapp in the fourth that put the game away. The TD to Kapp marked the 100th DiGalbo has been involved in during his time at Kutztown (68 passing, 32 rushing).

Saturday marked the senior signal-caller's third 300-yard passing game of the season and eighth career. DiGalbo, who ranks top five in NCAA Division II in passing efficiency (third), total points responsible for (fourth) and per game (fifth), has 24 touchdown passes against five interceptions. He moved into a tie for seventh among Kutztown's single-season leaders in touchdown passes and went over 2,000 passing yards for the season during Saturday's victory. - Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Football

  NOV 4 PSAC EASTERN DIVISION DEFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Ahkee Cox-Cowan, Kutztown (Sr./CB), Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg,...Cox-Cowan tied a program record with his 47th career pass breakup and led the Golden Bears with 10 tackles in a 30-17 win at No. 22 West Chester that clinched the PSAC East title for No. 17 KU on Saturday. Cox-Cowan made seven solo tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss in the victory. The 10 tackles were a season-high and the second-highest single-game total of his career. Cox-Cowan's 1.5 tackles for loss were also a career-high. With one more pass breakup, Cox-Cowan will take sole possession of the top spot in KU's record book from English Peay, who he tied with No. 47 on Saturday.   OCT 28 PSAC EASTERN DIVISION OFFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Abdul-Hassan Neblett, Kutztown (Sr./ RB), Newark, N.J./Paramus Catholic,...Neblett became just the 10th running back in Kutztown program history to rush for 200+ yards in a game, Saturday, going for a career-high 203 and four touchdowns on just 10 carries in the 17th-ranked Golden Bears' 55-5 win over Shippensburg. Neblett scored on runs of 14, 59, 52 and 17 yards, carving up the Red Raiders' defense on a day when Kutzotwn ran for 335 yards as a team.

The redshirt senior's first touchdown of the afternoon, late in the first quarter, put him over 1,000 career yards rushing. Neblett expanded Kutztown's 14-2 lead in the second with two touchdown runs of 50+ yards on back-to-back offensive plays. Neblett is the first Golden Bear to rush for 200 or more yards in a game since Craig Reynolds ran for a school record 261 against East Stroudsburg in 2016. Neblett's four TD runs are tied for the second most in a game in school history. Neblett currently leads the PSAC and ranks sixth in NCAA Division II with 7.65 yards per carry and is the PSAC's sixth leading rusher overall. - Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Football

  OCT 14 PSAC EASTERN DIVISION DEFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Shawn Turber-Ortiz, Kutztown (Jr./S), Northumberland, Pa./Shikellamy,...Turber-Ortiz continued his career year with a team-leading 11 tackles, a fumble recovery and his team-leading fourth interception of the year in the Golden Bears' 35-13 victory over previously unbeaten East Stroudsburg on Saturday.

Turber-Ortiz has recorded double-digit tackles in four of Kutztown's six games this season. He leads the PSAC in solo tackles with 7.3 per game and total tackles with 11.0 per game. Those numbers rank second and 14th nationally in DII.   SEPT 30 PSAC EASTERN DIVISION DEFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Shawn Turber-Ortiz, Kutztown (Jr./S), Northumberland, Pa./Shikellamy,...Turber-Ortiz made a career-high 16 tackles and twice intercepted Shepherd quarterback Tyson Bagent during the Golden Bears' 34-27 win on Saturday. All 16 of Turber-Ortiz's tackles were of the solo variety and the two picks raised his career total to 12 --eighth most in program history. The redshirt junior from Northumberland, Pennsylvania, leads NCAA Division II with 8.3 solo tackles per game, ranks fifth in the nation in total tackles with 12.3 per game and seventh in interceptions per game (0.8). He leads the PSAC in all three categories.   SEPT 23 PSAC EASTERN DIVISION CO-OFFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Collin DiGalbo, Kutztown (Sr./QB), Secane, Pa./Monsignor Bonner,...DiGalbo surpassed 7,000 career passing yards and was part of all five touchdowns in the Golden Bears' 35-10 victory over Gannon on Saturday. DiGalbo completed 25-of-32 passes for 316 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. He also ran for 98 yards on 16 carries, scoring three times. The senior tied his own program single-game record for rushing TDs by a quarterback.

DiGalbo is just the third KU quarterback to throw for 7,000 yards or more all-time (7,020). He also moved into third in program history in career completions (561) during Saturday's win. He threw for four scores and 263 yards on 16-of-23 passing, and added five carries for 89 yards and two touchdowns with his feet.   SEPT 23 PSAC EASTERN DIVISION DEFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Nick Vasger, Kutztown (Jr./DE), Hatfield, Pa./North Penn,...Vasger recorded 1.5 sacks, 3.0 tackles for loss and recovered a fumble during the Golden Bears' 35-10 win over Gannon on Saturday. Vasger was disruptive to the Golden Knights offensive game plan all afternoon, as were his KU teammates. He finished with four tackles on the day and his three tackles for loss cost Gannon 14 yards.

Vasger, a native of Hatfield, Pa., teamed up with Eric Miller to bring down Gannon QB Jimmy Keefe in the backfield late in the first quarter. Midway through the fourth he dropped Keefe for an eight yard loss on a solo sack. Vasger also recovered a fumble at Gannon's 10 on the Knights' first possession of the second half, which was set up by a Togba Porte II sack and forced fumble - one of six sacks for the KU defense on the day.
