  Charles Wright threw for two touchdowns, Kevin Dominique ran for 131 yards and a score and Grambling State defeated Mississippi Valley State 40-0 on Saturday for the Tigers' sixth consecutive victory. Wright threw first quarter touchdown passes to De'Vante Davis of 27 yards and Dequarius Thomas for 25 yards and the Tigers (6-4, 4-2 Southwestern Athletic Conference) never looked back. Dominique ran 23 yards, Geremy Hickbottom 5 yards and Keilon Elder 34 for touchdowns while Miguel Mendez kicked two field goals. Grambling outgained the Delta Devils (2-8, 1-5) in total yards 521-134 while the defense made six sacks and had two fumble recoveries, one by Joe McWilliams who also had an interception. - AP College Football

  Miguel Mendez kicked a 45-yard field goal in overtime and Grambling handed Alcorn State its first Southwestern Athletic Conference loss 19-16 on Saturday. After Mendez's field goal, the Braves (6-3, 4-1) drove to the 11, but got backed up to the 16 after a false start penalty on third-and-8. Corey McCullough missed a 33-yard field goal attempt that would have sent the game to second overtime. The Tigers (5-4, 3-2) went on an eight-play, 80-yard drive capped by Charles Wright's 29-yard TD pass to Kobe' Ross that tied the game at 16-all with 1:07 left in regulation. Mendez missed the extra point attempt. McCullough missed a 47-yard attempt for Alcorn State as time expired in regulation. Geremy Hickbottom passed for 157 yards, Kevin Dominique rushed for 69 yards and Raylon Richardson caught six passes for 101 yards for Grambling. Felix Harper had 269 yards passing, Niko Duffey had 158 yards from scrimmage and Raidarious Anderson caught six passes for 103 yards for Alcorn State. - AP College Football

  Geremy Hickbottom threw for two touchdowns and ran for three more as Grambling defeated Texas Southern 55-20 to celebrate homecoming on Saturday. Hickbottom scored on first-half runs of 73, 67 and 1 yard and threw two touchdown passes to Lyndon Rash as the Tigers built a 41-14 halftime lead. Grambling (4-4, 2-2 SWAC) rushed for 307 yards and passed for 290, a total of 597 yards on 63 plays. Texas Southern (0-9, 0-5) had 637 yards of offense, with DeAndre Johnson passing for 351 yards and the ground game netting 280.   Wesley Green made a late-game interception to halt a comeback attempt and Grambling held on to beat Arkansas-Pine Bluff 39-33 on Saturday night. The Tigers (3-4, 1-2 Southwestern Athletic Conference) were up by six as the Golden Lions (5-3, 2-2) began their final push from the Grambling 6. Green intercepted Shannon Patrick's pass with just over a minute to play. Geremy Hickbottom threw for 248 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another score for the Tigers.

Grambling had a 22-19 edge at halftime but fell behind 26-22 midway through the third quarter. Hickbottom answered on the following drive with a 40-yard touchdown throw to Kevin Dominique, putting the Tigers back on top 29-26. Miguel Mendez kicked a 34-yard field goal early in the fourth and Joseph McWilliams' interception return for a touchdown extended the Tigers lead to 39-26 with 7:57 to play.   De'Andre Hogues blocked a 37-yard field goal attempt and Devanir Martin scooped up the football and returned it 70 yards for a touchdown to spark Grambling to its first win, a 44-21 victory over Jackson State on Saturday night. Grambling opened the season with losses to Louisiana-Monroe, Louisiana Tech, Alabama State and Prairie View A&M. The win spoiled Jackson State's home opener in the 70th meeting between the two long-time Southwestern Athletic Conference rivals. Grambling now has won 10 of the last 11 meetings.

Geremy Hickbottom was 14 of 22 passing for 97 yards, throwing two touchdown passes to Lyndon Rash and an interception. Joseph McWilliams picked off a Derrick Ponder pass and returned it 56 yards for a touchdown to stake Grambling (1-4, 1-2) to a 37-14 lead early in the fourth quarter and Kevin Dominique raced 31 yards for the Tigers final score with 8:16 left in the game. Mullins, an All-SWAC Second-Team selection last season, was second on the team with five sacks to bolster the Tiger defensive line.
