  07/20/19 - Deon JacksonSr/2021, Duke, 5-11, 218 (DS#26 RB) + More +

He arrived at Duke more comfortable at wide receiver, prone to late-night fast-food cravings that added the wrong kind of weight to his 6-foot frame. Now Deon Jackson is a different person mentally and physically, and those are good things for the Blue Devils. Last fall as a sophomore, Jackson emerged as one of the ACC's most explosive threats on offense, given his ability to produce big plays in the running, passing and return games.

His versatility gives Duke hope its offense can be productive this season even after quarterback Daniel Jones left a year early to become the No. 6 overall pick in last April's NFL Draft. "The versatility of Deon creates a lot of possibilities," Duke coach David Cutcliffe said. "I really believe he may be the most versatile back that I've been around in my career." - Herald Sun

  07/18/19 - Quentin HarrisrSr/2020, Duke, 6-1, 200 (DS#28 QB) + More +

Duke coach David Cutcliffe isn't losing any sleep over the challenge of replacing Daniel Jones, the first quarterback selected in April's NFL draft. That's because he has fifth-year senior Quentin Harris ready to take reigns. Cutcliffe said Wednesday during ACC media days that he has "great confidence" in Harris, calling him a "brilliant" player who is well prepared to position the Blue Devils to compete for the Coastal Division title this season.

Cutcliffe says Harris has a great grasp of the team's pass play concepts and now it's only a matter of zeroing in on the plays he's most comfortable with. Harris should also get plenty of help offensively from running backs Brittain Brown and Deon Jackson, who ran for 847 yards last season - the most by a running back in the Cutcliffe era. - AP College Football
