  11/25/20 - Desmond RidderrSr/2022, Cincinnati, 6-3, 213 (DS#3 QB) + More +

The last time Cincinnati played at UCF, Ridder completed just 42% of his passes (11 of 26), lost three fumbles and failed to get into the end zone in a 38-13 loss. Two years later, Ridder put that game way back in his rearview mirror, completing 21 of 32 passes for 338 yards and two touchdowns. Ridder added two more scores on the ground. The former Louisville St. Xavier standout now has accounted for 21 touchdowns (10 passing, 11 rushing) in the last five games.

"The guy never ceases to amaze us," Fickell said. "I love it when people start to doubt him or start to question what he is doing or how good he is or can he really throw the football. All those things, all that does for him is just make him better because it locks him in, it focuses him." Ridder completed a pass to eight different teammates on Saturday, including a combined 11 receptions for 157 yards and two touchdowns to his two tight ends, Leonard Taylor and Josh Whyle. But most importantly, Ridder, again, had zero turnovers. - Cincinnati Enquirer

  11/24/20 - Logan WilsonrSr/2025, Cincinnati, 5-10, 180 (DS#999 FS) + More +

Logan Wilson has experienced quite a journey since graduating from Dallas Bishop Dunne in 2019. The standout cornerback signed with Kansas State, left the school and landed at Louisiana-Monroe before opting out of the season and into the transfer portal. Wilson made what he hopes is his final move this week when he committed to continue his career at North Texas. UNT cornerbacks coach Clay Jennings recruited Wilson when he was in high school and capitalized on a second chance to court the versatile defender.

"I am transferring to North Texas because it's close to home and I have a good relationship with coach Jennings," Wilson said Friday afternoon. "North Texas is on the come up. It's a great environment, is an opportunity for a great education and a place to play ball. The program is doing well and is getting guys to the NFL. They also play great competition." Wilson was a three-star prospect coming out of Bishop Dunne and had offers from a host of top schools, including Arizona and Iowa. He signed with Kansas State, but left the school during his freshman season. Wilson considered continuing his career at UNT at that point but was told that the Mean Green did not have a scholarship available for a cornerback. - Denton Record

Talented sophomore nose tackle Jowon Briggs has reached the coda of his Virginia football career, but not his swan song in the sport. The former four-star prospect, who also made a name for himself at UVa off the field with his singing ability, has entered his name into the NCAA's transfer portal, a source said Tuesday. The Cavaliers (3-4, 3-4 ACC) won't have Briggs when they host Abilene Christian on Saturday. He is no longer a member of the program, a source confirmed. The 6-foot-1, 310-pound Ohio native has 20 tackles and three sacks this season. He's started every game this season after starting seven as a true freshman in 2019. - Charlottesville Daily Progress
